~Dorothy Sawdon~

"You?" I asked, letting go of the door and unintentionally revealing my nakedness to the smirking girl in front of me.

"Yes, me" she said, leaning against the wall and folding her arms. She scanned my body up and down, making me suddenly aware that I was in my underwear. In front of her.

I jumped, pulling the door back over myself as I glared at her.

"Pervert" I spat, making her laugh melodiously.

"What are you even doing here, uh... Dora?" she said, of course getting my name wrong.

"It's Dorothy" I said with a roll of my eyes, "And I live here?"

"Oh" she smirked, "Guess we're neighbours"

I sighed, alreading dreading the wave of cliché that was about to waft over me. Of course I was neighbours with Rachel Jones.

"And you know what that means?" she asked, her smirk not faltering.

"What?" I asked, irritation evident in my tone.

"Neighbour hook ups" she said, making my jaw drop to the floor in bewilderment. I must have heard her wrong.

"I must have heard you wrong" I said, mostly to myself than her but the expression on her face was making me belive that I had heard her right.

"You didn't, I mean--" I cut her off with a slam of my door, leaning my back against the painted wood of my door and sighed.

I was neighbours with Rachel Jones.

The first thing that came to mind was her ratting on me to anybody who would listen. She wasn't exactly a people person but she definitely seemed like the type to rant my secret out to child services that a 17 year old was living all by herself in the flat next to her's. Then it dawned on me that she was 17 herself.

By some cliche fate, Rachel Jones and I were in the same position. Parent less and living on our own.

Then Jordan would never let me hear the end of it. She would scream until I needed hearing aid and rip out her hair, demanding that I help her get under Rachel's sheets.

Most (lesbian) girls would be over the moon that they were next door neighbours with the smoky eyed bad girl but I wasn't one of those girls. I was probably the only one who had not been wet dreaming about her since sophomore year.

And then I remembered that I was making lunch. I sprinted over to the kitchen, turning off the flame underneath the stainless pot and the microwave too.

I saved the meal but I suddenly didn't fell very hungry covering it up and heading to my room for a much needed nap. I would wake up at whatever time Jordan had said she would come.

I easily fell asleep, finally letting my mind free of all the problems that clouded it.

¿? ¿? ¿? ¿? ¿?

A banging on my door woke me up.

"Dorothy, get up!" Jordan's voice called accompanied with a bang on my bedroom door. My eyes pried themselves open and following was a loud yawn as I sat up, stretching as I stood and walked to the door, opening up to find Jordan standing there fully dressed for...

The party.

"You're not dressed?!" she yelled.

"I.. I fell asleep" I murmured, rubbing my eyes to keep them open.

"Well get ready now or I'm leaving you" she said lastly before leaving, muttering profanities on her way out.

My brain clicked on and I began scurrying around my room, heading for my wardrobe to grab a random dress I thought looked nice. It was strappy, pink and had a leopard print on it.

I found black thigh high boots and a jacket then made my way out of the room, expecting to find Jordan sitting there and waiting for me but I didn't.

I left the house anyway, glancing once at the sleeping poodle beside the sofa. I smiled and exited the apartment, adjusting a strap on my dress before making my way down the hall. Rachel's door was wide open again.

I ignored it, running slightly down the stairs and to the exit of the apartment building. I still did not find Jordan. Instead I found Rachel, standing by the door and fastening her helmet while standing beside her motorcycle.

I walked past her, finally spotting where Jordan was parked outside the compound and waiting with a stick of cigarette in her lips.

I semi-expected what Rachel would do next.

"Looking hot, Delilah" she called out, the revving of her bike being heard soon after.

I pretended not to hear her and hurried away, making it into the car with Jordan and immediately starting a coughing fit once I did.

The entire car was practically in a tobacco cloud.

"The fuck, Jordan" cough, "What did I" cough, "Tell you about smoking" cough, "In the car"

And on top of that, she was blasting The Rolling Stones on the radio.

"What?" she asked, referring to what I had just said. I rolled the windows down and stuck my head out, gasping for air.

"That's it, I'm not going" I got down, heading back while Jordan yelled for me to come back. I didn't listen.

On my way back, I ran into Rachel who was still eyeing me with a predatory look in her eyes. I gagged, making my way back.

"Hey, Daphne" she said, cupping her mouth to amplify her voice. I let myself answer her and say, "It's Dorothy"

"Yeah, okay" she said, waving me off, "Where are you heading looking so - -"

I cut her off again, "None of your business"

I tried to head back but she was soon beside me with her motorbike. "I'd be happy to take you anywhere" she said, shamelessly winking at me and making me roll my eyes in exasperation.

Then I considered it.

What the heck.

"Are you by any chance heading to Parker's for the party?" I asked, making her grin wildly and nod enthusiastically. Like a child whose parent agreed to buy them a toy they'd been wanting for a while.

"Get on, Dolly" she said.

I was beginning to think she was doing this on purpose.
