Do you know what sucks?

When you like someone you can't like.

This reoccurring theme is the story of my sad life.

Colby and I were with Sam and Ellie, taking cute pictures with the beautiful view and I was basically just taking pictures of the three. Ellie ended up taking a picture with Colby and it was disturbing.

They KISSED.

In FRONT of Sam and I.

It seemed like Colby was off guard a bit, and it seemed like he didn't want that. Though I could be wrong, it's Colby.

I was the one forced to snap that, sadly.

"Ash, you'll send me that right?" Ellie asks.

"Of course," I fake smile.

"You're pretty good at photography, I must admit," Colby says, glancing over my shoulder at the pictures I took.

"Thanks, you don't look bad in these huh," I give a half smile.

Ellie waves her arms, "Woah woah, did you guys just be nice to each other for once?"

The awkwardness of Colby and I faded in, and we were dumbfounded saying, "Umm."

"Let me get this documented! Ash, give me your camera!" She snatches my camera from my grasp and shoves Colby and I next to each other.

Colby whispers to me, "We need to talk in a sec."

"Okay..." I reply.

"Alright, pretend like you two are actually friends!" Ellie says, pointing the lens to us.

"Please dont-GAH!"Colby pulls me into his arms and I get sunken in his chest, while Ellie snaps candids of us.

"Don't fight the love girl," Colby says, squeezing me tightly and resting his head on mine, because I'm that much shorter. He made me laugh, and I was happy in this moment. I didn't want him to let go of me, he was securing and warm on this slightly chilly day. It's odd, and very not normal to be saying your enemy makes you feel safe. But it's so hard not to hate him, and still enjoy his touch.  His arm is wrapped across my shoulder and the other pulling me in by my waist. I reluctantly just wrapped my arms around his waist and smiled for the camera.

And I didn't want to let go.

"What a great pic!" Ellie exclaims showing me it, "Hey I need one with Sam!"

Colby uncoiled his arms from me and I felt a wave of coldness, now that his body heat was leaving. Also a little bit disappointed he didn't hold on longer.

I trudge over to Ellie and take my camera from her hands and look at the other pictures we took while she and Sam tried to decide what pose they wanted.

Colby comes from behind me, "Hey."

"Hey, what did you want to talk about?" I ask, still flipping through the pictures.

"Yeah, um Ellie told me that she wanted to post that picture of us, ya know, kissing and I don't think my fans are ready for that so-"

"You want me to delete it and pretend like I never found them in the first place," I say still not looking at him.

"Yeah... if that would be-"

"Already ahead of you, Brock," I say, finding the pictures and deleting them, "As always."  I'm glad he's allowing me to do this, I never wanted these pictures on my camera in the first place.

"Thanks Ash, I really appreciate it," he replies.

"Yeah, no big deal," I shrug.

"Okay! We're ready!" Sam shouts from the other side of the mountain.

"Girl get my good side!" Ellie adds.

"All your sides are your good sides..." I mumble. Knowing my best friend is hot, it makes it easier to be jealous of her. Which sucks, I think I'm too insecure for my own good.

"Jealous much?" Colby whispers to me, hearing what I had said.

"Shut up, you're legs are too long and your upper body is too small," I hiss.

Truth is, he is perfect and that was the only thing I could find quick enough to spit back. Cringe.

"Well damn," he grumbles and walks away.

I roll my eyes and click the button on the camera a few times.

"Oh, slay guys," I laugh.

"You know I work, work, work," Sam models and struts in front of Ellie.

"Hey! I'm literally a star in front of the camera," Ellie cries, shoving him out the way.

I giggle at them and Colby jumps in front of me, consequently blocking the two of them.

"PHOTOBOMB!" He yells, dabbing in the mist of it all.

"COLBY!" All three of us yell.

"Get out Brock, you'll break my camera with your ugly face," I say, swatting him with my hands.

"Wait I've seen that camera before, didn't Ellie make me fix that," he says, scratching his head with suspicion.

Ellie and I slowly turn to look at eachother, "Ummm..."

"You guys went to the Apple store just to have me fix it? How cute!" He says, awing.

"Well I basically conned you, FOOL," I suddenly reply, shoving him to the ground and running away back to the car, "Last one there has to buy popcorn!"

Ellie and Sam dash off into my direction, making sure to leave Colby in the dust.

"FUCK YOU NEIL," He shouts, scampering to his feet and rushing off.

We all dashed to the car and I got there first, followed by Sam, then Ellie.

"Sorry babe, looks like you gotta buy all of us popcorn at the movies!" Ellie giggles, wrapping her arms around his sweaty neck.

"Whatever, I was just going to buy you popcorn but I guess I'll have to do it for everyone," Colby sighs.

"That's ma man," Sam says, slapping his shoulder. I rolled my eyes and got in the car. I wanted to again, projectile vomit and hit the two of them with a stop sign.

So they could just stop.

It hurt a little piece of me every time he spoke something nice to Ellie or about Ellie.

Which is SICK.

But I wished that were me.

I wish I didn't hate him.

I wish I didn't hate liking him.

Actually, I wish I didn't like him at all.

Period.

I hate liking my rival.
