"Ash honey, wake up." Someone shook me gently, brushing the hair out of my eyes. "You have school."

"School?" I asked, my eyes popping open. "Are you sure I can't just spend another day at home?" I said, after a brief pause. I wasn't ready.

"No." She frowned. I think she was sad to have to send me. "Get up and get dressed. I'll make you breakfast."

"I'm not hungry." I dismissed her, slowly getting out of bed.

"You have to eat." She looked at me seriously. "I'll make you toast with Nutella?"

"Okay." I tried not to let the sheepish grin escape, but I couldn't help it. Nutella was my favourite, but I wasn't allowed it most of the time, mostly due to the amount of it I like to use.

I quickly put on all my uniform, feeling very professional when I was fully dressed. I spent a good while staring at myself in the mirror, before heading out to eat my breakfast.

"Whatever you do, do not get Nutella on that uniform." Mum warned jokingly. I knew it wouldn't be a joke if I actually did though. "Ryan will drive you to school with the others. Either Nick, Dad or I will pick you up from the same spot he drops you off. If you need help with anything, all of the boys will be around to..."

"Mum, I'm fine. I know they're there." I interrupted her, practicing confidence. Fake it till you make it, right?

"Meet me in the car at 8. Ready for your first day?" Ryan asked, appearing nearby.

"Yep." I nodded. My stomach was full of butterflies. "C'mon Teddy." I quickly did my hair and brushed my teeth, then made sure I had everything for both me and Teddy. I had a bit more time, so I went and waited in the lounge for everyone else. My bag was so heavy, but I refused to let Austin help me carry it to the car.

"Have everything you need?" Austin asked, as we got into the car.

"I think, and hope, so." Everyone else piled into the car, me being squished in the middle seat in the back. Perks of being the youngest child, I was told. "I'm nervous." I whispered to Austin as we drove.

"That's normal." He whispered back, squeezing my hand for reassurance.

It didn't take long before we arrived. It looked even bigger than it did a week ago.

"River and I are in that building, you, Austin and Jonah are in that one." Ryan pointed them out. "All our phones are on if you need something, but you should be able to find one of us pretty easily."

"Thankyou." I was really nervous now, and desperately felt like I needed to go to the bathroom.

"Have a good day." Ryan hugged me. "Don't get into trouble."

"I won't." I laughed quietly.

I followed Austin and Jonah into the building, listening as they chatted to each other. This was just a normal day for them.

They took me to an office that had colourful signs and pictures in the window.

"Hi Ms Harrison, this is our sister Ashlyn." Austin introduced me.

"Hi Ashlyn! We've been looking forward to having you here. Thanks boys for helping her. I can take it from here and you two can get to class!" I wasn't that keen on them leaving, but Austin nodded and smiled at me, signalling everything was fine. The two of them left and I followed Ms Harrison into the office. "We can just wait here for about 10 minutes whilst the locker bay clears. It will be very busy and overwhelming if we go now." She smiled kindly. "Who's this?" She questioned, motioning to Teddy.

"Oh, this is my service dog, Teddy." I explained shyly. We talked about Teddy for a while, a good distraction to my nerves, and then she asked me a few questions about myself. I had to go and pick up my new laptop, which was very exciting, and she also informed me I need to choose a sport to train for. She said I probably could get away with not training, since there were only a few weeks left of the term and school year, but it would be a good idea to go and try it out and meet some of the other girls there.

"Let's head to your locker, shall we." I followed her down the hall to the locker bay, where she showed me an empty locker. She explained to me how to use the locks and all the other things I needed to know about it, and then we headed to Ryan and Rivers' building to pick up my laptop.

"Do you know how to use these?"

"Not really." I replied. I knew a bit, but this didn't look like anything I'd ever used before.

"I'm sure your brothers and parents will be able to assist you with learning. Your teachers will be able to help you whilst you're in class too. And speaking of class, your second class should be starting soon." She handed me my timetable and a map, then offered to walk me there. I had no other way of getting there, so I was semi-forced to accept. She seemed nice though, and she was being kind, which was as much as I could ask for.

As we were walking, the bell rang, leading the halls to fill up with students. Every door we passed had people walking in or out, and it was slightly overwhelming. Thankfully, the area in which my class was now had much less people.

"I believe Jonah is in the class with you. You know where to find me if you need anything else. Have fun!" She smiled, walking off. No one was in the classroom yet, and I started to feel like maybe she'd taken me to the wrong place, but soon enough, a teacher and a few other students arrived. I followed them in and took a seat towards the side wall, waiting for Jonah.

"You must be Ashlyn?" The teacher approached me.

"Yes." I nodded.

"I'm Mr Alcott. Nice to meet you." He smiled. "I'm sure you're ready for the next few weeks of English."

"I am." I smiled, noticing Jonah walk in.
