Zach's house was light up like a Christmas tree. Music was blaring out the windows and it made my ears pound. Or maybe that was just my heart pounding. It was a good thing I brought Rowan with me because there would have been no way I would have found his house. He lived out of town on a dirt road. I guess it was a perfect location to have a crazy party, there was no neighbors for miles.

Rowan found us a place to park close to the front door. He knew what I was thinking. Get Raven and get out fast.

I unbuckled my seat belt and reached for the door handle.

"Are you going to be okay?" Rowan asked me, with a worried look on his face.

I nodded. "I'm just going to go in and get Raven. It's no big deal." I said it out loud, more so for myself than him. I needed to hear the words.

"I'm going in with you." He started unbuckling his seat belt as well.

"You don't have to-" I started.

"No, I'm going inside with you no if's, ands, or buts."

We walked up the sidewalk that went from the road to their front porch. It was a two story house and there was a lot of vehicles parked along the field across from the house. This was going to take forever. There was too much ground for us to cover to find them both.

Once inside I could barely hear myself think, but in the end I decided that was a good thing. Rock music was playing in the main room of the house and down in the basement. I figured Raven would be in one of those two places.

"Where should we check first?" I yelled over the music hoping Rowan could hear me.

"Let's try the basement first. Try sending her a text." He said taking a hold my arm and pulling me gently towards the basement steps. I forgot Rowan had been to one of Zach’s parties before. He knew exactly where we were going.

I sent Raven a text as we pushed past people on the stairs. I would have called her but I knew there was no way she would be able to hear her phone go off with all this noise.

We searched the whole entire basement and I was trying to think of any place we could have missed. There was so many people dancing and drinking that it would have been easy to overlook Raven in the crowd.

"Has she answered yet?" Rowan asked leaning down yelling in my ear.

"No." I sighed. I wanted to get out of here and go home now. But I wasn't leaving without Raven.

"Why don’t we go and check upstairs?" He suggested pushing his hair back with his hand. He looked tired.

"You go ahead. I'm going to keep looking down here." If we split up we would be able to cover more ground in a shorter amount of time. I could tell how much Rowan wanted to go home.

His face hardened. "Are you sure you want me to leave you alone?"

"Yeah I'll be fine." I said waving off all of his concerns. I playfully pushed him towards the stairs. "Go!" I yelled.

Finally he took a step towards the stairs and reluctantly went upstairs. I was going to be fine by myself. I started shuffling my way through people dancing first, getting way to close than I liked by a few. Raven was not in the crowd of dancers. I moved my way to the edge and saw Bradley standing in a corner. He had two drinks in his hand and was about to hand the girl beside him one of the drinks. I felt extremely uneasy. I had to get out of here now.

I ran up the stairs back to the front porch and threw up in the bushes beside the steps. I didn't feel well at all. Bradley giving that girl a drink brought back a flood of memories.

I whipped my face off with a tissue in my jacket pocket and threw it in the bushes too.

My breathing returned to normal and my heart stopped pounding in my ears. I needed to push everything aside and concentrate on finding Raven.

"Hey." Rowan's voice said behind me. "Are you okay?"

I turned around and saw him holding up my sister and her friend Elizabeth. Thank god he found them. I walked over to him and put arm around my sister leaving him to take care of Elizabeth.

"I'm fine." I said.

"Lennon it's about time you showed up. I called you an hour ago." Raven complained slumped against me.

I ignored her and helped her down the porch steps to Rowan's jeep. Once Raven was inside behind my seat I helped Rowan get Elizabeth inside.

"I don't wanna go home." She cried as we shoved her inside.

"Set down. We are taking you home." I ordered. Finally she sat down and crossed her arms around her chest. "God Raven your sister ruins all the fun."

I ignored her remark and got in. The drunk girl in the back was the least of my worries. If I didn't feel so responsible for her I would have left her at the party.

"Elizabeth were do you live?" Rowan asked.

After a few minutes the girl told Rowan her address. She must have realized that she wasn't going to be going back to the party tonight. I knew I shouldn't be judging her for her actions but how couldn't it. Bradley was there. No one was safe with him there.

Rowan dropped off Elizabeth at her house helping her to the front door before driving us back to my house. Raven was passed out in the backseat with her hair covering her face.

Rowan put the jeep in park and shut it off. "So will you guys be okay getting in?"He asked. I looked back at Raven and nodded.

"Yeah I'll make her wake up." If Rowan came inside it would be really hard to explain to my parents what he was doing there if they were to wake up. "Thanks for coming tonight."

I wouldn't have been able to get Raven home if it wasn't for him. After seeing Bradley I was a mess. I just wanted to get Raven inside so I can let everything out without anyone being around me.

"No problem." He smiled. He gave me a quick kiss on the forehead before unlocking my door. "Call me if you need anything."

Biting my lip I agreed to.

I got out of the jeep and opened Raven's door. "Raven time to get up!" I yelled shaking her foot. She stirred but didn't get up.

Come on. I don't have time for this.

"Raven wake up!" I yelled in her ear.

"Jesus Christ." She jumped up rubbing her ear. "Was that really necessary."

"We are home. Hurry up Rowan needs to get home." I hated the idea of him driving this late. I couldn't see him in the hospital again.

Raven got up and feel out of the jeep landing on the ground. "Shit." She cried out. I groaned and helped her get up to her feet.

"Please text me when you get home." I told Rowan before I wrapped an arm around Raven and steadied her.

"I will." He said before he left.

Getting Raven upstairs didn't seem like a possible task. There was no way I was even going to try to get her up them. I didn't want to break any bones because she went out and decided to get drunk. For tonight she was going to have to sleep on the couch.

"I can't sleep down here." She cried. She was sitting on the couch looking up and me much more aware of things since she fell getting up the porch steps. My sister was definitely a clumsy drunk.

"Well your going to have to. If you can't even make it up the porch steps with my help then there's no way we are going to make it up stairs." I sat down pulling off her boots.

Raven saw the boots and frowned. "You stole my boots too."

I rolled my eyes. "Sorry but I was trying to get to you as fast as I could." I should have known better that she would turn this into some big rant.

"Whatever." She rolled her eyes. "If I sleep down here then mom and dad will know somethings up."

I shrugged my shoulders. "Not my problem." I walked over to the closet and threw her boots back inside.

"Seriously. I can't get grounded again." She complained.

I took off my jacket not bothering to look her in the eyes. I didn't pity her. She made a stupid decision and she was going to have to learn from her mistakes. In reality, I was angry at her.

"Raven, do you even realize how much danger you put yourself into tonight by being this drunk? You could have gotten alcohol poisoning and been hospitalized, or you could have died in a car wreck if you went home with Elizabeth. Someone could have taken advantage of you. Do you really want to be raped by someone Raven?" I raised my voice slightly.

"Oh how would you know miss prefect. I bet you haven't had a single thing go wrong in your entire life. I understand why you have no friends now. You suck the fun out of everything. Elizabeth and I just wanted to have a good time. There's no harm in having fun." She hissed laying her head back on the cushion of the couch.

"Like you would know a single thing about me." I lashed out. I couldn't believe she wanted to sit here and argue on about how this was no big deal.

She flicked her wrist up in the air and pointed at me. "I know how your whole life has been this perfect little present with a bright red fucking bow on top. You don't know a single thing about pain or being a disappointment."

I felt something inside me snap and there was no turning back. My vision was red and my lungs were on fire. "I can write a whole book on pain. About how I went to a party just like the one you went to and was raped. I was raped and I have to live with that my whole damn life. What do you have to live with not getting a date to the dance. Big freaking whop. I would give anything to be like you. Pure and untouched by that monster. You don't know what I've been through so you better shut the hell up and go to sleep before I go up there and tell them what it is you were doing all night long because it sure as hell wasn't studying."

Raven looked at me with a shocked look on her face. "You were raped?"

I didn't answer her question instead I walked up stairs to my room away from her and the rest of the world. I couldn't handle it anymore.
