I kissed her slender neck and her panting chest while removing her clothing. It took a while for me to get rid of our many layers of silk. But soon, it all came loose.

I rose and paused to take in the wonderful view as if I had never seen a woman's nakedness like this before. Amarisa's face blushed scarlet under the heat of my stare. She was indeed finely made. The blessed heavens made no fairer woman than this.

My eyes traveled down her full round breasts to the lovely navel on her flat belly. Yet nothing prepared me for the most desirable place of her maidenhood. My heart slammed against my ribs and drew the breath out of my lungs. She could put all the flowers in the world to shame. The sight stirred a hot throbbing need from the region below my belly, and it began to spread like wildfire.

Unable to contain my yearning anymore, I reached for her perfect supple breasts. I was almost convinced that I was doing that in a dream. My trembling hands caressed their firmness.

Amarisa gasped and turned her face away. I had to remind myself, it was her first time. She trembled underneath me. Her eyes flickered with intense emotions. It wasn't from fear, but more likely how a virgin maiden feel when she is in her lover's arms.

I lowered my body between her creamy thighs. Her delicious scent got stronger, wrapping me like a shroud. I inhaled her sweetness as I would do with a flower. Amarisa's breath caught in her throat.

"Nikita..." she sighed.

I gathered her lithe body to me. My lips kissed her temple and cheek to comfort her frantic beating heart. The warmth of her skin drew me even closer.

Our bodies clasped perfectly into each other like hands. Amarisa turned to look into my eyes at last. I told her wordlessly that she needed not worry, that she was the one. I wanted her in every way. She seemed to understand and yielded to the passion rising within her.

I moved down and took her erected nipples in my mouth. My hands stroked her sides in eagerness. Amarisa whimpered. Her eyes had lost the hint of nervousness, and now she slowly enfolded her arms around me.

The princess gasped when I grabbed her legs and passed them around my waist. I could tell she was hot and ready. We met again in desperate kisses. The motions brought us pleasure and amorous feelings.

We sounded as though we had been running far and fast. Amarisa traced my back with her fingers. I moaned between our crashing lips and twisting tongues. The pleasures caressed me like gentle waves.

We entwined our legs and clung to each other as the rhythm of love-making began to take place. The unmistakable sensation flowed through every hollow of my bones. It pooled around my heart and deep within my core. Amarisa mirrored my reaction.

There was a longing I felt between her legs. It was as pronounced as the beating of my heart. I moved against her harder and faster, feeling the sparks of pleasure began to burn.

"Oh my, Nikita..."

Her soft moans were pure music to my ears. Seeing her beautiful form responding to my passion was too much for me that I felt the gathering.

I panted and trembled until my inside twisted with a sharp blissful eruption. The hoarse groans climbed up my throat and spilled from my mouth, and I gasped loudly to the intensity.

I shuddered as if I was something that had just born. Amarisa put her arms around my convulsing form and held me to her for a time. I lay still until the world returned to its original shape again. Amarisa's heartbeat underneath my ear brought my craving back.

"Are you alright?" she whispered, and I nodded, but it was not enough. I wanted her to enjoy me too.

My hand reached and found the softness of her maidenhead. She closed her eyes. Her eyelids were the color of peacock's tail. I caressed her down there, making her brows knit and her juices flow from pleasures.

When I entered her body, she pulled me tightly against her breasts, yielding herself to me. Her teeth clenched as I glide through her warm slipperiness. Soon her mouth slackened in an inarticulate cry at the jolting sensations. I had finally found her weakest regions, which caused her heartbeat to drum hard against my own.

I reached deeper to feel the essence of love that trapped within her body, the love that had chosen me and wanted to reveal itself to me.

I kissed her neck and teeth her nipples while stroking her quivering walls until she shook uncontrollably.

I brought her to the edge of an ecstatic abyss, trembling and tightening all the way. I kept her hanging there, hanging over the cliff of joy until she screamed joyous screams. Tears rolled off the corners of her eyes.

She wailed and clutched my arm as I let her fall. After she breathed evenly and had a moment of rest that we made love again until our mind spun with the deepest euphoria of our eternal love.

It was hard to tell when the morning came inside this magnificent place. The ceiling stirred with twinkling lights. I was stroking my princess's naked skin as she lay on my chest. I smelled her scented hair, and the coldness made us nestling even closer together.

In the room, the scent of our lovemaking was still strong. It was like sweet fruits baked under the sun. Clearly, Amarisa and I were both wide awake, yet neither of us wanted to move. We were exhausted but content. Our kisses still lingered on our blushed skin. There was a comfortable tranquility around us until Amarisa peeled herself away from me.

Our eyes met again.

"How would I tell my parents about all this?" she asked.

"About our lovemaking?" I said.

"No! About our marriage," she said and pinched my arm lightly. I giggled back.

"Tell them the whole truth," I said. "They might not be too happy to know that their daughter come back with a daughter-in-law, but I believe they are not going to have my head for that."

"Of course not. My parents are just people, and you're no stranger. Besides you're from the long line of Chandravansha. You're our very own kin."

"Oh yes, I have been told by the original daughter of the Naga King before," I said with a shrug.

"So you had her met then?" Amarisa asked with a ton of jealousy.

"Amarisa, she was you and you are her, are you jealous of your own self?"

"What if I say I want to meet my original husband too?"

"You definitely are your mother's daughter." I pouted back. "Anyway, I thought it was just a myth."

"Hardly anything is a myth in our world," she replied. "Indeed, while being down here, I have gathered the rumors just enough to filter out the truth. I should have known where that manner of yours came from."

"What do you mean?"

"Hasn't the moon god paid you a visit yet?"

"Why? Should he?"

"I don't know, but you're closely connected to the lord, are you not?" she said.

"Maybe. I don't know. Tell me about the moon god then."

She thought for a moment.

"Well, Lord Chandra was born from the churning of the Ocean of Milk," she began, "So brilliantly born he was, that his birth nearly blinded all the other gods. With his unrivaled beauty and radiance, the lord also charmed all celestial maidens."

At that point, she stopped and glanced at me.

"What?" I said with a frown, but Amarisa just went on.

"He soon married the divine daughters of Daksha. They are a constellation of twenty-seven stars of heavens."

"All twenty-seven of them?" I said in awe. Amarisa giggled at the surprised look on my face.

"He was quite the mischievous one among the Devas too," she said. "A lady charmer he was just like you."

"What? I'm not a..." I tried to protest but Amarisa pressed a finger to my lips as if to say she knew better. Then she continued the tale of Chandra's disastrous love affair with Tara, who was a wife of another god. It brought upon him a curse so heavy, no gods could lift. It was a curse to lose his lustrous beauty every fourteenth night.

"That, Nikita, is how the moon waxes and wanes," Amarisa said. "Then another curse befell him. It was when the god saw Lord Genesh, returning from a feast with a belly filled with food. Genesh slipped and fell. Chandra watched him grabbing a snake to wound around his loosened garment. The sight was so hilarious to him that the moon god burst out laughing."

Hearing that, I couldn't help burst out laughing. Amarisa had to clasp my mouth with her hand and gave me a scolding look.

"And now I recognized the resemblance in your nature," she scoffed at me. "You want a curse to fall on you, too?"

"Sorry," I sniffed with a smile. "Tell me what happened next."

"Lord Genesh was so furious. He broke off one of his tusks and threw it at the young lunar god. It struck him in the belly and created the dark spots we now see on the moon today."

"I see!" I said. "Now even the gods are reckless and had their own mistakes."

"Yes, no one is perfect, Nikita," Amarisa agreed. Then she tilted her head up to look at me. Her eyes were unwavering, glittering with light. I brushed a strand of hair from her face.

"But you are to me," I said. "As long as I live, you will be loved and cherished, always and forever."

Amarisa gazed into my eyes, seeing the sincerity she sought. She smiled before leaned down for another kiss.

At last, it was time for us to leave. The Naga King looked grimier than usual as he regarded us. Amarisa went to say farewell to her spiritual father. He patted her head with a nod. Then the serpent god turned to me.

"Nikita," he said my name, summoning me. I bowed to him with my joined palms. He put his hand on my shoulder. It was large and heavy with strength. I tried not to be startled by the gesture.

"Whatever the Lord has planned for you, I have no power to defy it," he said. "This is meant to be as the Prophecy has set. May the fate be kind to you."

"Thank you, my lord," I said and caught a glimpse of sympathy in his green eyes before he turned away.

The same boat that we rode the other day was waiting for us at the gate. This time there was a troop of guards as our escort. We all boarded and we began to rise, sailing away from the underwater palace. Amarisa twisted in her seat to look back at her father, but he was gone. Amarisa turned back with a sad look. I gathered her into my arms as we allowed ourselves to be brought back to the mortal world.

The first ray of the sun was flaring from the horizon as we burst out of the water. The soldiers and serpent maidens continued to escort us to the shore. We got off the boat.

The morning breeze felt strange after a long stay under the Great Lake. My head swiped around to find Kesar, whom I had left ashore all alone. I was immediately plagued with worries when I did not see her. Then we heard a cry from the sky. To my relief, Kesar descended in excitement towards us. I was glad that she was safe and well.

There was a surprised pause when she finally realized the princess had returned with us. The Kennari came to a stop and folded her wings. I watched her fidget when Amarisa stepped forward. It also made me nervous.

"Gods bless you, I'm very glad you're safe," Kesar spoke with a low bow. Amarisa inclined her head back.

"I'm sorry to have you waited this long," I said. "We were..."

"You wouldn't have guessed what we had been through!" Atith said with enthusiasm. "We saw the most beautiful palace under the water. Later we were captured by the serpent guards. Then there was a tongue-lashing and venom-spitting from the Naga King himself. Good heavens, he was so terrifying! We had a nasty fight. Nikita almost died, but no worries! Nobody was harmed in the end. But you would never have guessed what came next!"

"What is it, my lord?" Kesar asked out of politeness.

"After Nikita had shown that true love would always conquer all, the Naga King threw them a splendid wedding! Can you believe it?"

Of course, Kesar couldn't believe it, and she must have thought it was a joke until she saw the look on my face. She regarded me with such a mix of feelings.

She could hardly congratulate us without stammering. I felt a stab of sadness in my heart.

Atith began showing her souvenirs from serpent women and chattering about the wedding activities we had. Kesar's face lit up with an uncomplicated delight as she listened.

Clearly, she was rejoicing over my good fortune. I was still trying to digest the whole thing myself and tried to ignore a foolish pang of guilt and pity when I looked at her.

Amarisa handled it far better than I expected. She responded with gratitude and sincerity when Kesar politely asked about her well-being.

After the Naga troop went back to the river, we got everything ready to go back to the city. I helped Amarisa settling onto the golden chariot and made sure she was at ease. Kesar politely declined to join us, insisting that it would be too crowded. We rode back towards the capital with the Kennari flying too high overhead. She almost resembled a little bird. A few times I called for Atith to take a break so that Kesar could also have her rest. If Amarisa had noticed my intention, she did not speak of it.

At last, just as dusk began falling from the sky, we caught the familiar glimpse of the walled city.
