The food was delicious! I had missed a good olรฉ hamburger and seasoned fries.

I tried not to stare at Stone too much but god he is yummy and when I had my hand on his chest his skin was on fire and I wanted to see what was under that shirt.

Why am I acting like this?

While eating this older couple walked over and smiled. "You have to be Chesney! You look just like your dad. The woman said.

"I am. I haven't been here in years but the food is delicious."

"Are you back for good?" The man asked.

"I am. Someone has to run Forever Fountain." I smile.

"We are glad to have you back dear. So sorry about your Mother."

"Thank you." I smile but it's as fake as can be.

Once we finished eating I tried to give Stone some money for my part of the meal but he wouldn't hear of it.

We got back in his truck and headed back toward the venue.

"Do you want me to take you to the venue or Clay's?"

"I guess to the venue. I am supposed to take the rental back this evening but well Clay won't be there to pick me up."

"I can follow you over there Chesney and take you to Clay's."

"Are you sure Stone? I don't want to put you out."

"It's no problem." He said pulling up at the venue.

"I appreciate it. It shouldn't take long." I said getting out of his truck.

I get in the rental car and he follows me over to the rental place and I sign all of the paperwork needed and ten minutes later I was back out to Stone's truck.

"Thanks for waiting. The guy acted like he was on drugs or something." I laughed.

"It's all good. I don't have anything to do this evening."

"Do you live near Clay?"

"Not too far away. I bought a fixer-upper and work on it when I can. Would you like to see it?"

"Sure I have no plans." I laugh.

We drive a little way up past Clay's house and we pull into this two-story house that is just beautiful.

"I remember this house growing up! I had a friend who lived here before they moved away."

"So you had been in here before?"

"Yeah, a time or two but it was definitely outdated with greens and yellows."

"Yeah, I pulled up that shit green carpet." He laughed.

We got up and went inside and oh man it was beautiful just like Clay's house. I love the crown molding and the kitchen is to die for.

"Oh Stone this is beautiful and nothing like I remember."

"I haven't got it all done yet but I plan to." He said walking through the kitchen.

"I love the feel of the inside just like our old house. You worked wonders with that."

"Thanks! I love fixing up old places and making them new again. It's my thing but I have done it with my dad until he retired and then I took over the business."

"So A & S contracting is your dad's first name?"

"Yeah, Alan is my dad."

"You guys must have moved here after I left?"

"Yeah because I don't remember you or Clay. I met him at the pool hall several years ago but he did talk about you."

"Do you have any siblings?"

"Yeah Meredith she's a couple of years younger than me and she doesn't live here."

We walked on through the house and he took me out back to the backyard and I loved it.

There was a big fence and a big swing and he had a trellis with flowers flowing down it. I could see myself living back here.

"Oh Stone it's beautiful! I love it and could live back here." I laughed.

"Thanks! It's my quiet place after all day of hammering."

"Oh, I am sure. Well, I love it."

"Do you drink? Want a beer?"

"Sure why not." I laughed.

Get you a seat and I will be right back.

I was looking at everything when something jumped on my lap and scared the crap out of me.

I looked down and it was a big white cat. "Well, who are you?"

Stone walks out and laughs. "Sorry Cotton likes everyone and is very friendly."

"I didn't peg you as a cat person." I smiled stroking the cat's back.

He hands me a beer. "Don't tell anyone I'm not as mean as I look."

"Never." I smiled taking a sip of my beer.

"I actually found him when he was just a kitten in an old abandoned house that I was looking into buying and I couldn't leave him and we have been best buds ever since."

"That's very sweet Stone. I always wanted a pet but couldn't have one in my apartment and well growing up we always had a dog."

I scratch Cotton's ears and he seems to love it. He lays down on my lap and purrs.

"Well, I think you have stolen my cat." He laughs.

I smile. "Do your parents live near here?"

"Oh yeah but closer over to Clay's gas station. We moved here when my grandparents were sick and my mom wanted to take care of them."

"So how did you meet my mom?"

"I actually saw her in the lumber store. She was needing some things done and was asking around for a contractor and my dad talked to her."

"I am sad that we weren't close and got to know each other after I was an adult but sometimes things don't work out how you hoped it would."

"That is true. She didn't talk about you much but I knew she had a daughter."

I laugh. "Yeah I didn't do anything with my life like she wanted me to or work in the wedding business and she just pushed me away."

"I am sorry Chesney."

"Don't be sorry its life." I smiled over at him.
