I was getting ready for bed when my phone beeped.

I knew it had to be Chesney and to be honest, I missed her not being here.

I read her text message and smiled.

📱 I took your advice. I told Clay about moms journal.
📱 I am glad that you listened to me, Chesney.
📱 Ha Ha Stone! But umm Clay bought me a car believe it or not so I won't need you to pick me up in the morning.
📱 That makes me sad. Cotton misses you.

📱 I bet that he does. 😊 But I am headed to bed and I will see you in the morning.
📱 See you then Chesney! Goodnight.
📱 Goodnight Stone! Sweet dreams.

I locked my phone and then got under the covers and it wasn't long until Cotton came and joined me on the bed.

"I know you miss her too." I laughed out loud.

I rolled over towards Cotton and went right to sleep.

When the alarm went off I got up and took a shower, drank some coffee, and headed over to Forever Fountain.

I got there before anyone else so I went into the building and got the tablets and went and put them in the fountain before I begin to stain the bench again.

When I got done with that and was heading to the front door I saw Chesney pull up in her new car and it was actually nice.

I turned and smiled at her. "Nice wheels."

"Thanks, it drives nice and gets me to where I am going but I must say I missed Cotton last night."

"He missed you too but he settled for me instead." He laughed.

"What are you working on today?"

"Well I finished the stain on the bench and I added some tablets to the fountain for you."

"Thank you! I have to go inside and pay some bill and stuff so hammer away."

I watched her walk inside and she looked good in her jeans that fit in all the right places.

I had to build a new frame for the front door and I got on it right away.

It didn't take me long to get the frame built and started tearing the old out and putting the new in.

I had to stop and get a drink of water when Chesney came out of her office and over to where I was.

"Sure you don't need help?"

"Maybe," I smirked.

"Then why didn't you holler?"

"Because I am a one-man band and do everything myself and figure out a way."

Dwight walked down the hall. "Good your both here. Lunch is ready tell Whitney."

"Thanks, Dwight!" She smiled.

"Let's go eat and then I can help you. If someone needs in they can ring the doorbell."

"After you."  I smiled at her.

We headed to the bathroom to wash our hands and I couldn't help but think about yesterday but this time I didn't bite her neck.

"I know what you are thinking and you better not." She laughed.

I smirked at her. "I wasn't going to."

We walked into the kitchen and Dwight and Whit were giving these judgy faces. I sit down beside Chesney and Dwight brought our plates over.

"Hot ham and cheese and french fries. I have cookies for dessert."

"Thank you, Dwight." Chesney smiled.

"Yeah thanks for including me," I said.

"Of course, I would big man!" Dwight smirked at me.

I almost choked on my fry. I couldn't even look over at Chesney because I heard her giggling.

I lightly pinched her side and she jumped and laughed.

Whit looked over at both of us. "You guys ok?"

"Never better." Chesney laughed.

After lunch, I went back to my door frame and it wasn't long until Chesney was standing in front of me smiling.

"You just love when he talks to me like that don't you?"

"Maybe I mean I see you cringe inside." She laughed.

She helped me get the frame up and then she had to go get some things done while I finished up.

After Whit and Dwight left I was gathering up my tools when Chesney walked out.

"They already left?"

"Yeah a few minutes ago."

"Just you and me Chesney."

"How about we raid the kitchen and look for cookies?"

"Sounds like a plan let me put my stuff up."

I head to the kitchen after I put my tools in my truck and we find some leftover bbq from the wedding and some rice crispy treats and chocolate chip cookies.

"This is a nice dinner." I chuckle.

"Hey, it's free and tasty. Thanks for staying to eat with me."

"No problem Chesney. Are you going over to your mom's house tonight?"

"I hadn't decided. Sometimes I just hate being around her stuff."

"I get it. Too much of a reminder."

"Is it so wrong that I am not sad that she's gone?"

"Not with the relationship that you had with her no."

My phone beeped and I pulled it out of my shirt pocket.

📱 I made a big pan of lasagna get your butt home to eat.
📱 Yes mom see you soon.

"So my mom made a big pan of lasagna and invited me home. Want to go with me?"

"I don't want to intrude Stone."

"Oh your not promise."

"Sure then I like lasagna." She smiled.

📱 Mom I am bringing someone with me.
📱 Good I hope a girl!
📱 See you soon.

We clean up our mess because Dwight would have a stroke if his kitchen was dirty and we headed out to my truck.

"So your parents live close?"

"Yeah, not too far away."

"Well good thing we didn't get to eat all of the bbq or we would be too full." She laughed.

We pulled up at my parent's house and I went around and opened the door for her.

We walked in and the lasagna smelled great.

"Mom we are here!"

"Oh, good Stone is here with a beautiful girl! Alan come look!" Mom yelled.

Embarrassed isn't the word.
