The alarm goes off and I move an arm to turn it off. Sadie moans out lightly and snuggles back into my embrace, making me chuckle as I kiss her head.

I go to move an arm and Sadie mumbles in her sleep. I get out of bed and make sure she is covered up and the next alarm is set for her in a couple of hours.

I take a shower and dress before walking to Cole's room. I move to his bed and Rex pops his head up to look at me.

"Hey turkey butt." I whisper and Cole pops his head up since he is such a light sleeper still, something that has never changed since he has been young.

"Ready to get up and get ready to head out to the shop?"

"Yeah." Cole stretches.

"I am going to let Rex out in the back yard, before I finish up getting ready. Then we can make breakfast for us and the girls."

"How will it stay hot for them though?" Cole asks while standing from his bed in his pajamas.

"We will leave it in the oven for them."

I love how Cole also took to cooking like I do. The twins enjoy it but there is so much of their mother and grandma in them I can't help but laugh. Even though they try their hardest to cook, they can do the basics but that is about all.

Once I let Rex out the back door, I walk back towards the master bed and bath. Stopping when I can hear the water running in the other bathroom letting me know that Cole is getting ready.

That may be something we need eventually is a third bathroom because it gets to be a lot with the twins and Cole having to share one.

After brushing my teeth, putting in fresh contacts, and slipping my shoes on, I let Rex back in and he goes right to Cole's room waiting by the door to be let in.

Going over to the kitchen I wash my hands and pull out the things needed to make up some waffles for breakfast. As I am cutting the fruit, Cole walks over and Rex stands in the living room watching, since it is the rule Sadie made that no fur babies allowed in the kitchen. Rex is a little thief for sure with his height he can easily take things off the counter tops. As for the cats they never venture in here anyways. We keep all their food and water bowls on the edge of the kitchen and living room for them though.

"You can add all the batter together." I look to Cole.

He washes his hands and get to it. Then I am done with the fruit I show him how to add the batter bit by bit to the waffle maker then how to tell when they are done.

Together we make up the food and then place the girls in the oven like I had said.

Before we eat though, we put all the fur babies food in their bowls for them. Then we wash up again and eat our food in silence at the counter.

I start on cleaning and Cole joins once he is done. We check that everything is done, before I grab my wallet and keys.

Rex goes into the Sadie and I's room, so I watch as he jumps on the bed curling at the bottom.

Cole and I walk out of the house with me locking up and getting in the truck. The drive to the shop is silent and I unlock the back door once we get to the shop.

I watch as Cole walks around the back at the flowers that I had already worked on getting trimmed for today.

"These are nice, but I don't get the color coordination the bride wanted." Cole grimaces at a couple of the boxes.

"I think it is a goth type wedding honestly son." I grimace with him.

"That is weird with it being right at Christmas in a few weeks."

I nod in agreeance.

"I noticed you have been coming with me more here. Is the flowers something that interest you or just out of boredom?" I finally ask Cole.

Cole sighs and sits in the work chair.

"I honestly like the flowers. A couple of the guys at school picked on me about it. I shut them up quickly though, when I told them my Dad owns the shop and there is nothing to be picking on me about because I could get the girls by knowing things. Along with being nice and not some jerk bag."

My jaw drops open at my son.

Clearing my throat a smirk forms. "That is all true about how it could impress the women. That is not all this is about though."

"I know that Dad. Really I do, but it helped get them off my back. Honestly, though I like it here all the colors and fragrance the flowers put off. It is also a form of art with what you do here with them."

"Well any questions you know to ask." I smile and pull out the last dozen flowers to trim.

"I really just want to be like you Dad. I know that I prank and be a goof ball, but I look up to you the most out of everyone. Pawpaw and Uncle Clay too but no one beats you." Cole seems to take on a shy moment when I look back up to him and his cheeks are flaming red.

I stand from the chair and pull Cole over to hug him tight. It is rare that Cole will have these moments, but Sadie and I soak them up when he has them. Although, right now my heart is bursting because I feel Sadie and I have done things right by the kids and these moments tell us also.

My hope is that my parents are looking down seeing the life that I have built with Sadie and their grandchildren, with them being proud of me. Aunt Loretta says they are but I can hope so too.

I swallow the lump in my throat and show Cole how I trim the flowers with him asking. After a few flowers, I pull out the tape that Aunt Loretta made for me all those years ago to show him where to trim the stems at that he can use until he gets to where he can do it without the tape tool.
