My mind has been in a state of bliss since finding out the gender to the twins. Twin girls.
Stone laughed and patted me on the back after we found out. He had said there is nothing better and can't wait to see if the girls turn out to be just like Sadie was as a child.
We all ate until we were over stuffed and then Stone and Chesney took us back to the house.
Today though is a new day and Sadie wanted to come with me since there is no work for her to the do at the venue today. She had gave Gunner, Dwight, and Marcel all the day off because the next wedding is still five days out and nothing to do for it yet.
"What all are you doing today?" Sadie smells the flowers as she walks around the front of the shop.
"Just have to go through all of those and pick out the wilting ones. Then make up some bouquets for the window ledge for views."
"That really seems to help with the people walking buy they come in just to buy them." Sadie giggles. "Well, put me to work hubs."
"Ah, I don't know about that. Why don't you just sit over here and tell me where to go first. You can even pick the flowers out for the bouquets. I need enough for say nine different ones."
"Kill joy. Fine, I will just walk about and pick out flowers." Sadie sasses and smiles at me.
I pick through and remove the wilted flowers and Sadie follows when I step into the back. A smile forms when she sits in the comfy chair behind the the desk. While I start to trim the stems for the first vase she choose, and sit on the stool by the work counter.
"Are they kicking?" I ask looking over to her, caressing her bump.
"Yes, but I think more like rolling over top of each other or somthing." She laughs.
That is the one thing I have truly got to enjoy is feeling them kick and move. When it happened for the first time, it shocked me how it felt but Sadie said it doesn't hurt.
"What should we name them?" Sadie looks up to me and smiles.
"I think we should write out a list of names we like. Since I know you love to make a list of things." I chuckle.
"That sounds perfect. What about you work on the first names and I can do the middle name list? Then we can bring them together and mark out the ones we don't like and see what is left for us to combine into a name for each of the girls."
I nod. "Better than the idea I had."
"Oh! Which also reminds me this morning I started working on a list of all the things we will need for them while you were cooking breakfast."
"Tell me all about it Flower, because you know I have no clue on anything other than the basics of a crib, clothes, and carseats." I look at her briefly and keep trimming.
Sadie tells me all the things that between Loretta, Chesney, Whitney, and Bonnie told her we will need. I can feel my eyes get wider as she goes through a list on ther phone.
"What back up one second. I am lost on that item." I look at Sadie and put the scissors down.
"Okay which one?" She looks up from her phone.
"The bottle props and sound machine." I say both because I hadn't heard of it before.
"So the bottle prop is one that Loretta mentioned because there will be times both babies are hungry at once and if it is just one of us around or one of us is busy, we need it so that both babies can feed at the same time. We don't want one of the girls to be crying and hungry while one feeds."
I nod. "Makes sense."
"Then the sound machine is something they will share. Mom and Aunt Whitney said it worked for Gunner and I, because we were used to a white noise of sorts but we went to sleep when they would have it on low."
"That is interesting."
"All things I learned just a few days ago while we were at Grangy's and found out their gender. Everyone is so excited but I will say I learned more from them than the one book." Sadie laughs.
"I would have joined in all that talk but the others were telling me stories about you as a child." I chuckle and go back to trimming.
Sadie gets up and picks out more flowers for another vase and when she lays them on the table, I look up because she is standing in front of me.
"Do you wish we were having at least one boy?"
I am taking back on her question.
"It is not something I have thought about even the first time. I have been so excited we are having girls and to be a girl dad. Even if we have more then just the twins, and it is another girl I will just as happy because our love made the baby. It doesn't matter to me the gender just as long as they are healthy and happy." I smile and stand from the stool, putting the scissors down.
I cup her cheek and gently kiss her lips. When we pull back she has tears in her eyes and a happy smile.
"I love you so much Collin."
"I love you Sadie and nothing will ever change that."
"I'm sorry, I don't know what came over me when thinking on the girls and not really knowing how you felt if you wanted a boy or not."
"There is nothing to be sorry for in the least. Honestly, I have always just wanted the babies to be healthy and you."
Sadie nods and kisses me again.
A lump is in my throat though when she pulls back with a smirk and I know that my hormonal wife is back in her normal zone.
"Although, we may need a stock in pads or tampoons. Oh, also in chocolate. Just for when the twins get older because I will still be having a cycle too. Probably have Dad build you a man cave for when the hormones kick in so you can hide." She smirks.
I let out a laugh. "None of that bothers me in the least. I will spoil my sexy wife and our daughters with chocolate, a good movie and just have some tissues stored incase. I will cuddle with you and make sure the girls have their own snuggle blanket to wrap up in also like you see on tv."
Sadie pops my arm and laughs.
"That is only one of the many reasons I love you, because your ready for it all."
If she only knew the things I have for emergency cases stashed here and there. Anything to make it easier on Sadie.
