I am off to the side watering down a few of the potted plants the shop has up for sale on the end of the showcase, when a beauty walks in the door.

Something about her seems familiar but I can't place my finger on it. I have recently taken over this flower shop for my Aunt Loretta, as she was ready to just spend her days quilting, working in her garden, or traveling.

Her name clicks instantly but it seems like I have heard it before knowing about the wedding venue Aunt Loretta told me about.

"I am Collin. I am happy to hold up the work my Aunt has done for you." I give her a kind smile.

I watch as she seems to take a breath.

"That is a relief." She smiles and walks over closer as her eyes turn to the flower pots.

I lay the spray bottle down on the side counter where the main desk is to the side of the show case, because something about this lady has me jittery in a way.

I have tended to many customers through the years working down here after school and since being out of high school, only breaking to go to college to get a business degree. It helps to run a business and make sure no insurance company is trying to throw a loop hole my way.

Something about Sadie has me a mess as if this is my very first customer ever, but it's like I know her from somewhere else too. So the last thing I want to do is accidentally spray her with the water.

"So I do have a order for you to fill." Sadie's sweet voice floats out but stops as she trails off.

"All ears." I grab the writing pad.

"I need flowers for the arch at the venue, preferably sunflowers and daisies if you have them. Then I need a hand bouquet for the bride to hold." Sadie pops it off.

I think over the back inventory in the fridges. They are are located to the side door I have next to the counter for check out, but I only have the access back there.

"I can do that easily. Aunt Loretta ran through all of that with me before passing the shop down. I have been to the venue a few times." I nod.

"I hadn't seen you there." Sadie looks at me.

"I think your mom was still the owner at the time when I was learning things. You look familiar though."

Sadie looks at me and her face lights up. "Oh yeah, I remember seeing you in school." She laughs.

Now I understand it. "Oh yeah, you used to be with another guy."

"Gunner?" She laughs and I nod.

"He is my cousin and best friend. Gunner actually works for me now too."

"That is nice you guys are so close." I smile. The few friends I made and had through school all moved off and one is still in college. Life gets in the way and lose touch honestly.

"So when do you need these flowers?" I finish writing it down.

"In two days time." Sadie grimaces before pulling a cute face with a pouty lip, like she is pleading.

I scratch my head. "Okay. This is quite a bit." I give a nervous laugh.

"Yeah this wedding was a last minute type thing because we suddenly got an opening, which the new bride took instantly. We tend to stay booked for a long time out." Sadie smiles.

"I will get this ready for you. When do you need me to have the flowers on the arch by?"

"Normally the day before when the weather is nice like it is but I don't want to put that pressure on you, so at least by noon on Friday."

"Got it." I smile and write it down.

"I promise to give you heads up next time." She smiles.

"No worries." I smile.

"Thank you so much Collin." Sadie smiles once more.

Something about how she said my name got things flowing that has never happened before in my life.

"Your welcome. I will see you soon."

Sadie walks out of the shop and I watch her get back in her car.

The entire time she left, I couldn't move from the counter. Like I said things that I am not used to happening by just my name being said because the pants would have shown it all. Granted, Sadie is a beautiful woman and changed so much since school.

We both have, at least now I don't have acne or wear my glasses anymore. So it is a wonder she recognized me at all.

Sadie was always one I watched from afar but to chicken to talk to her. It is a wonder I made friends in school with how I can be.

I finish watering the plants and walk to the back. I pull out the flowers and grab my scissors, then I grab the book Aunt Loretta left for me on the sizes for the arch. I glance at it and get set out on trimming the stems.

With a look at the clock, I set down the scissors and walk out of front. With a flip of the switch I turn off the open sign in the window and lock the door. Then I get back to trimming.

Time escapes me and I see it is late by the time I get the sunflowers done for the arch. Tomorrow I will work on the daisies and then get the ones done for the bride to hold.

For now, I place the flowers back in the fridges to keep them fresh and clean up the stems.

Once that is done, I walk up the stairs and look in my fridge. At least there is some leftovers from last night when I cooked. Heating it up quickly, I make my way to the couch and turn the tv on to see if any new shows are on.

This entire apartment above the flower shop is mine and has been since I turned eighteen because Aunt Loretta bought a house. At least I don't have to drive back and forth to work right now with me living above it. Some point in life I can see buying a house but right now this makes sense it is just myself.

Sadie pops in my thoughts a moment later. She is just like a flower. That is the best way to explain it really, because she has grown to be even prettier with age as she has bloomed.
