Chapter -34
Khusi pov

The huge drama ended up bringing me and Lavanya in Arnavji's office. The dilated pupils through his half lidded eyes staring inbetween us but felt a bit different whenever it turns to me. Obviously he would prefer her over me.

Lavanya looked at me grinning from ear to ear knowing the case is already in her side. To minimise her sea of joy I just kicked her leg under the table which cause her to jump off her seat.

"Ouch!you-" she screamed in pain and turn her face to him" ASR why don't you say something to her. She is so ill mannered" she began to whine.

"Are we school kids? Don't this office has any decorum to maintain?" His eyes of dismay looking at no one in particular.

" It's her fau-"Lavanya's squeaky voice got cut off by the man.

"hold your horses for a few minutes, will you?"he asked her abruptly.

Her face turns tomato red with her eyes bemusedly glancing at me before settling down in her chair. Then his eyes came back to my face, pacing from my eyes to my lips giving me a chance to speak for myself. Thus the person sitting next to me started breathing loudly to control her anger.

"I don't think that spreading rumours about an employee or speaking so low about anyone is a sign of great etiquette" my eyes not avoiding his eye contact "i could have ignored that but I won't tolerate anyone insulting my parents. So even if you think i was wrong, i will not apologize to her"i explained confidently without lowering my gaze almost ended up ranting about the situation.

His eyebrows knitted forming few lines on his forehead, Is he loosing his calm because of my outrage. my tongue clicked the roof of my mouth in curiosity. Shockingly soon his eyes lit up and lips curved into a thin smile for some reason. I was still recovering from his reaction when Lavanya's voice interrupted.

"But she slapped me, what about that? and i was right she is using you to get money and-"squinting she protested

"Enough Lavanya! I know what you did. You really disappointed me today. You both were wrong but specially you. The slap you are talking about is the reaction of your actions which was hideous. i have to take a action against you so no other employees dares to do this again" he starts typing something on his laptop ignoring the furious stares from Lavanya.

"What are you doing ASR? I'm asking you something please answer me"Lavanya starts desperately asking him. His refusal of offering any answer offending her more.

I was just sitting on my chair not knowing how to react to this situation. I also had no idea what he was doing exactly or what was going to happen to me or her. I just don't want get into their fuss but I have to admit it was kind of admirable of him that he took my side despite the fact that he is taking a fight for his employees self respect and that too with his business partner's daughter.

"Here" he printed out the paper which he hands over to her. Her eyes widened in horror after reading it and then looked at him in schok.

"You can't do this. You can't fire me"her voice sounds hurt more than suprised. Now we both were looking at him dreadfully. I never wanted her to get kicked out of her job .

"Go collect your final pay check from Aman"his face remains expressionless as he declared.

She clenched her jaw looking murderously at me, clearing the blur infront of her eyes by blinking and crushing the paper between her palm, she dashed out of the room.

After she left i was planning to call it a day now that all this happened i was not looking for trouble anymore.

"I think i should go home"i announced as i got up from my seat.

"Khusi you were in fault too. I know what you did was for a reason but you aren't allowed to use any physical means ever if anything like this happens in future" he said and then looked at me.

I just nodded my head knowing i am not going to be here for long.

I head out to the elevator where i met Lavanya's scowling face as much as i was upset over her being fired from her job i also wanted to punch her face at that time.

This situation,me and her in the Same elevator such a disastrous coincidence. I tried my best to deny her presence because of two reasons.firstly her annoying voice secondly Her annoying personality.

But Lavanya being herself had to open her mouth. The boxes in her hand covering her face now making my capacity to handel her shit talking a little less painful.

"Chamkili! You are one great player i must say. I wonder how you managed to wrap him around your finger. For so many years i tried everything, you can say i left no stone unturn but see he never gave me a look of affection, always treated me either as an employee or a friend. Even rejected me thrice saying he doesn't feel anything for me,me?" She put more emphasize on the word me. Taking a pause her grip on the box tightened "Huh and now he choosed you over me. What a joke right."she started rambling on her own but there was much more weird calmness in her than how she talked to me earlier implying the peace before the Strom.

Her story of heart break sounded more like a pride break to me so i asked
"Are you upset that he rejected you or because he supported me?"

"It Doesn't matter either way, i am not going to give away what's mine. I will be back to take back what's belong to me" she lowered the boxes exposing her challenging eyes which were red and angry giving me a creepy vibe. Just then the elevator opened and she hurriedly walked away.

"Khusi!khusi" someone shouted my name so i turned around.

"Nivedita!" I weaved my hand seeing the familiar face.

"I was so surprised seeing you here. Do you work there?" She pointed towards Arnavji's office.

"Yeah kind of" i mumbled. "Anyways i was just looking for a taxi it's so troublesome" i tried to change the topic.

"Yeah and yes i wanted to invite you to my bachelors party. I was thinking all my close friends can go to club and have fun. That's why i came here to invite a friend and suprisingly i met you here"
She chriped in amusement.

"Ohh, umm i will think about it" i gave her an awkard smile.we were never that good of a friend so i was taken aback by her invitation. Like we hardly talked twice in our college life and she was in the popular mean group always looking down on people.so i won't feel comfortable hanging out with her

" Khusi come on, it will be fun-" her voice got cut off by the person who came out of no where.

"Sorry but she can't we have somewhere to go anyways I'm her husband Arnav Singh Raizada" he stretched his hand for a handshake.

"Oh-h" she hesitantly forwarded her hands too.

"No! I mean I will come just message me the adress"i nearly snapped at her giving him a side eye, i gave her my number. He have guts to come and decided what i will do and what not plus he introduced him as my husband.

"Okay but are you sure that's fine" she asked glancing at him.

"Yes i can take my decision, on my own" i shoot him a irritating look.

"Great!i will message you my address.we can dress up together and go there" stars twinkling in her bright hopeful eyes.

"Sure!so meet you there"I said weaving her a bye.

I started walking towards the nearest bus station so that i can go to home as soon as possible when my boss Decided to butt in my way.

"Khusi! I just wanted to tell you something" he screamed behind me.

"What? What you want now" i asked turning around.

"Are you really going there? I just don't think you should go with someone like her" he said taking steps towards me.

"Ohh really now you can judge people in few minutes? Are you a face reader now? I ticked off by his words.

"No, she gave an interview few months ago in my office and her personality was not what she just showed you. It was ruthless and a total spoiled brat" he explained his assumption or whatever.

"The description sound more like you anyways what i do is on me so you don't have to worry about that and I'm sure you didn't came all the way here recognising her scent so that you could warn me" i asked drly.

"No, i just came here to offer you a ride to your house if you don't mind" he said looking into my eyes.

"No i don't want to so can you just stop comming after me. That would be a great help" i grumbled getting annoyed by his extra protectiveness.he have to understand I'm not his wife anymore.

Without waiting for his answer i peace up to the other way. My mind was still giving his opinion a thought like the way she was and now the way she acted is so different and doesn't sit that good with me either.

" Is okk I'm just over thinking, people change and she did too. He polluted my mind too much, he just want me to not have fun in my life just like him" i mumble to myself.
