Chapter- 28
Third person pov

"Don't try to fool me NK, i won't fall for your crappy stories like others" Taniya snapped at him.

"Aren't you already one dear" NK pressed his hair back with one hand.

" No I'm not,did you forget i met my father at the jail.  you were right there and you saw it with your own eyes too, now don't tell me i am delusional or something"Taniya pointed an accusing finger at Nk.

" What can i say to a girl who failed to recognise her own father and rather happily gave the title to the murderer"he gave a dramatic sigh shaking his head.

Taniya blinked twice and said nothing as if she has gone deaf.

" You even gave a statement to the police that 'the person in the jail is your father'. In a way you helped me even more after all that man did a good job and i already promised him that i will take him out of the jail"he moved his arm as casually as he talked.

" M-urd-erer, Why would he do that and you suck for playing such a trick on me. You cheap bastard, i helped you all this time and you return my favour like this" she asked, raising her voice at him.

" you're father had money and trusted a wrong person who took advantage of him  just like you and me so don't use such words for me because you are not a saint either and you choosed this for yourself, so don't put blame on me now"

he then look at Rahul and ordered "my car is parked a little far from here. you will find a file in there, bring it to me"Rahul nodded his head and left.

Taniya put her hands over her ears and screamed "No! No! I can't believe you made me do this and i believed you over a friend whom i considered my sister, my family  but now i am going to amned what i did" Taniya makes her way towards to the exit.

Khusi was listening and knew she had to do something as now she understood Taniya was also deceived just like her. During the whole argument Nk was holding the plate which has red chilli power and now nk  is trying to stop Taniya from going outside.

"Ahhhh! You stupid bitch" Nk yelled at khusi and fell down on the ground in pain as she threw the bowl of red chilli on Nk's face with her freed hands.

Taniya and khusi both looked at eachother. They knew they have to help eachother in order to get out of here.

Although Khusi's hands were free, her legs were still tied with rope.

"Taniya go and find some help before Rahul comes"Taniya nodded her head and ran outside the room.

Before Khusi could free herself, NK almost growled  in pain and stood up , taking out a gun out of his backside pocket of his pants.

Khusi didn't expected him to have a gun and cursed herself for not noticing it earlier.

Now khusi was at his gun point though his eyes were red due to the chili powder still  happiness shines through his face. One wrong move, she will be dead.

Khusi closed her eyes to think of the memories and people she loves more than herself Amma, Babuji, Buaji, jiji and Arn- ....

Thud! Khusi opens her eyes hearing the loud noise.

There stands Rahul, this is her last day khusi thought. When she turn her head to face NK, she was surprised to see horror for the first time on his face.

She followed his eyes  and turned her face again to look down at Rahul's hands. Instead of some so called file there was handcuffs on his hands and behind him the devil.

Few hours ago
Arnav pov

"Beep! Beep!" My phone starts vibrating  bringing me backl to the reality.

The messages contains an address where  Nk's car headed to . i Googled the address only to find that this place is a forest somewhere far from the city.

The first information they gave me was that in the cctv footage your house they noticed Nk few times around the cafe and a suspicious girl.

"Beep!Beep!" My phone rang again. I picked it up as i lock the apartment's door.

"Sir!  Should we call police? The informations and evidences we got makes the whole thing fishy." I stepped out of the building, walking where my car is parked.

"Yes call the police and send them the address. Tell them i will be there waiting for them" i start driving towards my destination.

When i reached the forest the sun was already up so it was easy to see where i was heading to. Finding his car took me some time, it was parked behind  large bushes, wasn't so easy to locate.

It felt like time was running and with each passing second the ominous feeling grew and my heart would thumb louder with trepidation. My mind and heart was filled with thoughts of unknown, is khusi alright?am i going to be there in time? Is everything going to be alright.

I looked around where the car was parked. As far as my eyes could go, there is tress, grasses and no sign of human being.  For a second i lost my hope. Is this my karma for doing so wrong to khusi? Does god wants to punish me this way?

This is all my fault, i was too blinded by my brother's crocodile tears to even notice her true and pure self.

just when i was going to other side for searching, someone called me. I couldn't figure out from which direction  as the sound came from distant.

Just in time someone placed a hand on my shoulder. I turned around to face a police officer who stretch out his arm pointing towards the left.

I looked at that direction and there a girl came running towards us. Ohh wait i saw her somewhere. Ehhhh where umm ohh yes she is khusi's best friend who came with her to our house after the wedding.

"Do you know where khusi is?"i asked her, cupping her shoulders.

"Kh-usi k-husi-" her breathing is uneven from all the running.

"Where is khusi?tell me" i jerked her shoulders.

She took us to a cottage which was deep inside the forest. We couldn't have found this place in time without her help.

From a little distance we could see a man  near the gate so to be careful we hide behind some trees until the police took a chance and catched him.

After that me and Taniya followed the police, the man faced kept his face in the opposite side as if he is hiding from me.

"Who are you and where is khusi. What you did to her you-" i yelled at him, forcing him to turn around my side so that i could see his face.

"You! You are that boy who was with khusi that day. Who are you and how dare you do this to my wife" i was about to punch his face but the police officer stopped me.

"Sir i know you are angry but let's find your wife First and then let us handle these type of people"the police said while putting handcuffs on his hands.

" I know where she is inside that room"  she pointed towards a door.

I hold the collar of the boy and took him with me. As i opened the door, my eyes falls directly on khusi's face whose eyes is closed and there is dried up blood on her forehead and a gun pointed towards her which is in the hands of my 'Brother'

I pushed the person infront of me and ran towards Nk even before he could react, i snatched the gun from his hand and kicked him off.

"Aranvji" she was schoked, as she stepped back a little.

I jumped on top of him, he was struggling as his body was pinned down on the ground.  His faced turned purple by the force of my punch on his face.

"How dare you kidnapped my wife and betrayed me, you piece of shit" i stopped punching his face, someone pulled back my elbow.

"Arnavji leave him, he will die"khusi put her hand on my shoulder, restrening her tears.

Once the first tear roll down her eyes, she brokedown completely as the drops of tears now flowed in an stream. Seeing her like this was physically painful for me all i could do was to embrace her and let her cry in my arms. I could hear her heart beating so fast in anger, in shock. She clinches her trembling hands, i time and again patted her back to claim her down.

I looked down at the reprobate person  lying on the floor with blood flowing down from his face looking at us with disappointed.

" What you got from all these? what was the need of this? You just wanted to satisfy your inner demon?"i yelled at him in defeat, frustration, regret , I not only failed to protect someone i love but also I failed as a son today. I failed to keep my promise to my mother.

A/N -  I don't know weather i was able to depict the emotions as i wanted. Everything improves with experience, i believe ✌ for now i tried my best 😅
