My mom drove me to school. She looked more nervous than I did. Here we were. Crest Fall High. I think it used to be called Crescent Fall High, judging by the space between cres and t. I guess the letters fell off. This place did look ancient but not run-down.

My mom parked right in front of the entrance. I can already see I caught people's attention. I unbuckled my seat belt and turned to look at my mom. "Well this is it. It's time to fill the position of the new girl." I said.

She cupped my cheek. "You're a brave girl, Terra. Don't let this affect you too much. If anything happens, call me and I'll pick you up. There's always home-schooling again. Plus, you have Maggie and you're mate right there with you."

Speaking of mate, I felt his presence around here somewhere. Then I spotted him. He was staring right at me, barely paying attention to his friends. He started walking towards my mom's car. I wasn't aware that she was calling my name repeatedly.

"Terra Lisa Fern, are you listening to me?" My mother asked.

I turned to her. "What? Oh sorry, no. I was just-"

"Gawking at your mate? Yeah, I sort of figured."

Just then Collin was at my window, looking as handsome as ever. "Hello, Terra." He smiled at me. Then, he looked at my mom. "And you must be Terra's. . . sister?" He extended his hand out to my mom, which she graciously accepted.

My mom giggled, but then her face lit up in recognition. "Collin. . . Collin Mitchell. . . as in the Alpha's son Collin Mitchell?

"That would be me, yes." He responded.

"Wow, I haven't seen you since you were a baby. You were so small then, and look at you now, you've gotten so big!" She exclaimed.

What? They know each other? Since when?

I looked between the both of them. "How?" Was all I could say, I was too surprised. How did my mom already know him?

"I met Collin when he was just a baby and I was still pregnant with you. I had went to speak with his father to ask him if he'd let you in the pack. Oh, no wonder you clung to me. Your wolves already knew. Oh, how sweet."

Wow, that's also pretty cool. I looked at Collin and smiled up at him, and he smiled back.

"Well, it's nice to finally meet you now, Mrs. Fern, you know, not in baby form. I can see now where Terra inherited her beauty." He said.

My mom giggled, again. "He's quite the charmer, Terra. I like him. And please, call me Marie."

'Kiss up.' I said.

'Only when it comes to your body, T.' He retorted.

Okay, I had to admit that was sort of hot. But, I wasn't about to show that his comment affected me in the slightest, especially not in front of my mom. I glared at him.

"All right, Terra, I think it's time for me to go," my mom said. You're in very good hands now and I don't want you two to be late. Collin, I expect you to take very good care of my daughter. Remember, I know where you live!" She warned him, pointy finger and all, mostly joking, though. "I'll see you later, sweetheart. Remember, if anything happens, just call me. I love you."

"I love you, too, mom." I kissed her goodbye then she ushered me out of the car and drove off. I bumped into Collin. He caught me by my waist before I fell but I stumbled back so there wouldn't be a repeat of yesterday.

'I want a repeat of yesterday.'

'Don't push it, Collin.'

"Here is your schedule and your homeroom is in room 344. Collin will show you around and get you well acquainted with the student body. Good luck and have a nice day, Terra." The secretary said, and scuttled back into her office.

The second I walked through the front doors of Crest Fall, everyone and I mean everyone looked my way. I don't know whether it was because I was new or because Collin and I were holding hands. Maybe it was both. Some had curious looks on their faces, others, mostly girls, gave me dirty looks, and because of that, I was worried. I don't take well to dirty looks. Mostly, because I've never had to deal with it before. Maybe I should call my mom.

Collin noticed I was busy with my own thoughts. So he decided to lighten the mood by saying, 'Maybe I should get you well acquainted with my body, first.'

I burst out laughing. I knew he wasn't serious; he was just trying to get me to laugh. And he succeeded. "You're a loser." I said.

"But, I'm your loser," He pushed a few strands of hair behind my ear. "You don't have to worry about anything, T. Those girls have nothing on you. You're my one and only, not them."

'How did you-'

"T, I'm the Alpha's son. I notice everything. Plus, I felt their intense gazes burning a hole through my shirt. Seriously, I think I feel a breeze." He turned around to show me. I laughed. Of course, there was nothing there, just amazing back muscles that were taut and clad with a cotton t-shirt. Wish they weren't.

He turned back around to face me and I hugged him. He seemed surprised by this because it took him a second to hug me back.

"Thank you. I needed a good laugh," I said.

I felt him smile. "Anytime, baby."

We stayed like this for a couple of minutes, until we heard a voice in the background say, "Get to class, you two. Or it's detention for the both of you." It was the principal, Mr. Hawkins.

We broke apart. "Yes, sir." We said in unison and ran out of the school office.

We burst out laughing. "I can't believe you got me in trouble on my first day." I said.

"Um, excuse me. I believe you hugged me. And I wasn't about to let you go. So, technically you got yourself in trouble, you bad girl." He retorted.

I decided teasing him is enough payback. I walked towards him, and I traced his chest with my index finger. "Do I need to be taught a lesson?"

His eyes, darkened. 'You better stop, T. You don't want me to mount you in the hallway, do you?'

I didn't get to answer back because I heard someone call out my name. "Terra!" It was Maggie. "I'm so glad you're here. I haven't seen you since yesterday which you have to tell me how it turned out. Oh, hey Collin! Evan is waiting for you in homeroom."

"Yeah Collin, go to homeroom. Don't keep your friend waiting." I teased.

He glared at me, playfully and started heading towards his homeroom. 'Just you wait, Terra. I'll get you back.'

'Ooo, I'm so scared.'

"Whoa... what was that all about?" Maggie asked.

"Oh, nothing. He's just been sexually frustrated since yesterday."

Maggie raised an eyebrow. "And what exactly happened yesterday?"

While we walked into homeroom, I briefly filled Maggie in on what happened.

Lunchtime rolled in and so far I have almost all my classes with Collin, a few with Maggie and one with Evan. Maggie and I went in search of a lunch table while the guys went to get us all lunch.

We found a table closest to the window. By now, everyone knew I was the Alpha's mate...well soon to be Alpha. And I didn't mind it, actually, because I wasn't scared anymore. Collin has a lot to do with that.

Everyone had been really nice to me. Although, there were a couple of mean girls that were not so welcoming but that's okay. They're juniors and I'm a senior. So there was no need to worry about them.

Collin and Evan came back with our food and we slowly started to slip into a conversation about our day. The cafeteria food wasn't that bad.

"Hey T, let me see your schedule. I want to know what other classes we have together." Maggie said. I handed over my schedule.

"We just have next and last period together." She said.

"Hey, I have next period with you, too." Evan piped in.

"Let me see," Collin said. Maggie gave it to him and he looked it over. He seemed happy with what he saw. "We have every class together."

"Oh, that's just great. Now how am I supposed to deal with seeing your face everyday?" I complained, sarcastically.

Collin put his arm around my shoulder and said, "Oh, hush. You know you like my face."

"Sure, whatever makes you sleep at night, babe." I pat his chest.

"Face it, T. You can't get rid of me." And I didn't want to.

                                                                                            * * *

It was the end of the day and school just ended.  Not bad for my first day. I bid Evan and Maggie a goodbye. Collin and I headed to his car. When we got there, I was pushed against the car and I felt someone's nose nuzzling against my neck. It was Collin.

"Collin... what are you doing?" I sounded scared but I was secretly intrigued.

"Can't I just enjoy the scent of my mate? It's been driving me crazy all day." He inhaled deeply, his voice, husky.

"Collin, stop. Not yet, not here, and especially not now." I tried to push him away but he was made of steel. He was just too strong.

Then he pulled away. "You know, maybe you're right." He opened the car door. I just looked at him, dumbfounded. What just happened?

"What? You don't want to keep you're mother waiting." That sexy little... I glared at him. I knew exactly what he was doing.

He smiled, innocently. "Told you I was going to get you back."
