Maleficent's P.O.V:

"Mel! Hurry up honey! Aunt Stella and Uncle Edi is here!" Mom shouted from  downstairs. I gave myself a last look.

I gave my dress one last look as I twirled in front of my full mirror. A simple, beautifully elegant dress for a simple, beautiful person.

Let me tell you that today is my 18th birthday and I'm very very very excited because this is the day, I'm going to find my mate. And I'm very excited about that. I have always fantasized about my mate while growing up as I have listened to my parents' love story. Dad would always tell me how Mom is his 'rejected love' and how they made it together through hard times.

I also wanted to meet my mate as soon as possible. And I was also excited to meet Uncle Edi and Aunt Stella because it had been twelve years since I had last met them. They had shifted to another state with their son......what was his name...? Oh forget him. So I was saying that I was really excited to meet them as I remembered very clearly how nice they are. Aunt Stella would always bring me sweet treats and Uncle Edi......well he was a whole different story as he was my partner in crime.

Considering that they were already downstairs and I should go down before Mom would come upstairs and would drag me by my ear.

I dashed in my inhuman speed downstairs and as soon as I reached the last step, a sweet scent of strawberries mixed with that of wet soil, invaded my senses and I stopped in my tracks.

"Mel! Come on honey, we are in the living room." Came Mom's sweet voice, since she had already heard me coming down. I made my way in the living room where the couple, whose faces I remembered clearly, were sitting with bright smiles on their faces. I smiled on seeing them and was about to walk to them when the scent I had experienced before again invaded my nostrils and my eyes fell on a brunette boy who had dark forest like green eyes and lean yet build-up body with broad shoulders.

My eyes traveled to his as I was caught up in a trance. Everything faded around me as my whole being was focusing on this specific spiece. When I realized that I was staring at him, I quickly tucked my face down as a furious blush crept up my neck and onto my cheeks.

Then I noticed that he was also checking me out and my blush deepened. I got a good feeling about this, but just to be sure, I trudged across the room towards the boy.

Everyone in the room watched carefully as the events unfolded, anticipating in wonder and curious about my next move. As I neared the boy, who was sitting on the single couch, next to Aunt Stella and Uncle Edi, he also stood up as if on instinct and Mom's voice came into my hearing.

"Honey! Meet Niall, Edi and Stella's son." She said as I had my eyes fixed on the handsome boy. He stared back at me as if rivalling my glare with his.

"Niall!" I test his name through my tongue and I realized at the exact moment thar my eyes were glowing to a shade of dark pink instead of my hazel one's as Niall's eyes widen. The next word that came out of my mouth wasn't mine as my wild side got heavy on my senses.

It would happen to pure blooded vampires, who were born as vampires, especially to the young ones, when they would find their mate and yes, that's exactly what popped out of my mouth.

"Mate!" I growled, almost in an animalistic tone as gasps were heard from the room. I was about to jump on him so that I could claim him as mine, but Dad interjected and held me back from the shoulders.

"Easy there little one. He's not going anywhere." He whispered in my ear as I let him hold me. After 10 minutes of him calming me down my eyes turned back to their normal hazel color as my mind got clearer and I blushed hard, thinking about what I was about to do just now.

Mom simply looked at me with teary eyes as she hugged my small frame and soon Dad also followed suit.

"Oh my small girl has really grown up." Mom said in a loving tone as Dad nodded in agreement. Our family moment was short-lived though because Aunt Stella butted in.

"Hey! Let me meet my daughter-in-law now." She exclaimed as my cheeks glowed red.

Mom let me go as Aunt Stella engulfed me into another hug. Uncle Edi ruffled my hair and winked at me.

"So how's the kiddo doing?" He said as my eyes darted to the silent figure of my mate who hadn't spoken a single word since my emotional yet extremely embarrassing outburst.

My heart sank a bit but I assured myself with the thought that I would work it out with my mate, just like my parents did. I would work it out with him. I would get my mate, My Niall.
