Goldy Pond

"The music... The music..." A child exclaimed when he heard a familiar Music. "What's this? They already hunt yesterday, why are they coming now?"

"They are coming!" Another child shouted.

"Hide! Hide! Let's Hide!"

Everyone started to hide and run for their lives when they heard the music start. They are confused and scared. Children around 6-8 years old couldn't help but cry silently when they heard the music.

The poachers...

The poachers are coming!

Everyone needs to run for their lives or else they will die!

Most of the children trembled when they heard a familiar footsteps. They kept silent waiting for the next music to arrive, they are praying to be safe until this endless loophole of hell finally ended.

But not everyone is scared and trembling. There are people, most of them are adolescence, who was observing and watching every movement of their coming enemy.

"Why did they come today?" Violet, a girl with a violet pixie haircut muttered. Her violet eyes went to Oliver who was also observing the three-group of the Man-eaters coming into the Goldy Pond which seemed a ghost town.

"There are three of them..." Violet mumbled. "The other Demon is unfamiliar. Why did Leuvis and Bayon come---."

"A child..." Oliver mumbled. He pointed his finger at the two people who were following the three Demons behind. "A child and an adult."

What...?

A child? Is she a newcomer?

She seemed to be 6 years old, and an Adult is carrying her in such a careful manner. Her clothes are also suspicious. No, it wasn't just normal clothes...

Violet's eyes went wide when she recalled that kind of clothes.

A Mom's uniform...

The child is wearing a Mom's uniform...

"I didn't know that My Lord had fallen this low," The unfamiliar Demon chuckled before glancing at Leuvis. "As far as I could remember, hunting hopping bunnies were not a hobby of the Grand Duke Leuvis."

The unfamiliar Demon glanced at the adult Human who was carrying a six-year-old child. He stared at the child who was currently sleeping soundly without even a single worry on her face.

"Your insolence is truly unparalleled, Lerin," Leuvis calmly replied to him. "This is the first time that you visited me here and yet you're talking like that. What should I expect from you?"

"My Lord, are you still harboring some grudge at me?" Lerin grinned. "My Lord, you were the one who told me to pursue my taste, I just did what you advice."

"You went as far as to serving to farms, such a disgrace," Leuvis told him before glancing at the sleeping child behind them. "You even brought a Human child here."

Bayon who was only listening to the conversation of his two companions finally talked.

"I heard that this child the hidden highest grade of Gracefield Orphanage," Bayon stated while observing the child. "She's currently the youngest child who was training under Sarah, why did you bring her here?"

"HAHAHAHAHAHA, she asked me to bring her," Lerin laughed loudly making the children who were hiding scared. "You know a lot about her, Bayon. It seems like you've done your assignment."

"Indeed, the reason why I didn't bring Luce, Nous, and Nouma here is because I wanted to talk about that child," Bayon answered Lerin. "If they know how important the child that you brought here, they might attack her."

A mischievous smile appeared on Lerin's face before glancing at Bayon. Revealing his sharp teeth to Bayon, Lerin laughed again.

Tho it's not a playful laugh anymore.

"They won't do that, they know that they can't do that."

Leuvis stared at Lerin when he noticed the killing intent in Lerin's tone.

He knows this servant of his too well.

The child is Lerin's prey.

"Mr. Lerin, you're too loud," said a groggy voice of a child. The three man-eaters glanced at the child who had just woken up.  "Are we there already?"

"Young miss, you shouldn't talk like that," The adult human who was carrying the child in his arms warned her. He glanced at the three demons calmly before bowing his head. "Forgive the young miss' manners, My Lords."

Leuvis ignored the man as he glanced at the child in amusement. "For a human, she talks to you comfortably," He told to Lerin.

"That's why Conny is interesting, My Lord," Lerin chuckled.

Conny who heard her name from Lerin suddenly woke up. She immediately opened her eyes as she glanced at her surroundings. Her eyes went wide when she saw a familiar very Demon looking at her.

I'm not dreaming, right?

Darn, did I sleep too much?

"L-Leuvis!" She suddenly mumbled while pointing at the Demon.

"Young Miss," the Adult who was carrying Conny warned her. His name is Andrew, a tall and slim young man with dark skin and hair. He calmly fixed his eyeglasses. "You shouldn't talk like that."

Conny stared at Andrew for a moment before bringing back her gaze to the familiar place. Her eyes secretly twitched.  If someone saw that action, they would probably read the hatred in Conny's eyes.

"Just let her," Lerin told to Andrew as he took Conny away from him. "I brought her here to have fun anyway."

Andrew closed his eyes when the child was suddenly taken from him. "It is my responsibility to look after the Young Miss. I am only following Mr. Ratri, My Lords." Andrew replied calmly.

"Tch, I don't need a babysitter," Conny whispered to herself.

The three Demons who have keen ears heard it.

Lerin chuckled before placing Conny on the ground. "Were already here, Conny," He told to her. Lerin pointed at his Master. "This is my Master, as you already know his name, you can call him Leuvis."

Conny glanced at Leuvis. She took a gulp before glancing at the other Demon beside him.

I bet this is Bayon.

"And this is Bayon, the owner of this place."

"So, this is the Goldy Pond?" Conny asked Lerin while scanning her eyes to the funny-looking town. There were no children playing around, it looks like a ghost town despite the funny design.

That's right, there are no children because they are currently hiding. The poachers are here after all, but it seems like they're not even hunting anyone yet.

"Young Miss," Andrew warned her.

Conny stared at him with a blank face.

I hate this man, I hate him to the core. I won't forget what he did.

Damned Andrew. Damned Ratri.

"It seems like this child is not afraid of us," Bayon who was observing Conny suddenly said. A smirk appeared on his face. "Can you give her as a gift here, Lerin? Hunting might become fun. She doesn't seem tasteless."

Conny smiled awkwardly before retracting her gaze.

I'm actually afraid right now, I wished I had never come with Mr. Lerin.

What am I doing here anyway? I shouldn't be here...

Lerin glared at Bayon. "Try and Die." He threatened him.

Bayon chuckled.

"That's enough, the next music is about to arrive. We are not here to have a chat," Leuvis interfered with them.

"Are you... hunting today?" Conny asked the Grand Duke.

Leuvis glanced at Conny. He stared at her for a moment before glancing at the third house of the town. He could sense a human child hiding behind that wall.

"What do you think, child?" Leuvis asked her.

Conny remained silent.

"Hunting on a silent town like this..." Conny suddenly mumbled. "It must be boring."

"In other words?"

"You shouldn't hunt today," Conny replied bluntly when she noticed that there is a child hiding in that wall. "Besides, Mister Lerin went here to visit you. He told me that he didn't see you for decades..."

"You talk bluntly child, are you truly aware of who I am?" Leuvis asked her with an intimidating gaze. Conny trembled a little but she managed to fight it by staring intently at Leuvis.

"A duke... and a poacher..." Conny answered.

She swiftly covered her mouth when she noticed the choice of her words.

She's dead.

"Pffft, HAHAHAHAHAHHA, A POACHER!" Lerin laughed loudly along with the grinning Bayon. "That's a good choice of words, Conny."

"Enough with your antics, Lerin," Leuvis warned him calmly. His eyes went back to Conny who was biting her lips. "Child, tell me, why did you come to this place?" He asked her.

Conny raised her head. She suddenly feels the observing eyes of Andrew who has been eyeing her since she woke up.

"I'm looking for a possible merchandise," Conny answered him blankly. Although she is lying, nobody could point it out. "If Duke Leuvis is aware of the incoming auction of the Tifari, I am here to search for good merchandise that we can show to the auction. If Mr. Bayon would let me look and observe some of the children here, I would be happy."

"Granted," Bayon replied.

"Are you telling me that Ratri gave you such an important task?" Leuvis asked her. "How bizarre," He chuckled. "And how do you feel about it?"

Conny stared at him blankly. "That's not important. I am simply doing my job."

The children who were listening to their conversation became wary of the child named Conny. Especially Violet who was the nearest to them.

She gritted her teeth when she heard the child's word. It feels like the child named Conny doesn't really care about the other children.

Oliver who saw Violet's reaction patted her head.

Survival, that child must be doing that to survive. But that Conny seemed to be special.

"It seems like Lerin brought an interesting Human," Leuvis stated as he turned his back on the child. "That child is right, we shouldn't hunt today since a silent town is boring," Leuvis smiled showing his sharp teeth.

A moment after that, a music suddenly echoed to the town pertaining that the Hunt has already ended.

This is the first time that the Demons did not hunt anyone after going to that town.

"Let's go back," Leuvis told them as he walks away. The two Demons turned around leaving that place.

Conny made a face when she realized that they were intended to leave her there.

"W-What about me?" Conny asked. "I-I'm staying here?"

Leuvis chuckled as he let out a small laugh. Somehow, Conny realized that he just acted like Lerin. "You have a job, right? If you're looking for a good merchandise, you should stay here," He said.

"I am also looking forward to a gift," Leuvis said. "Why don't you hunt someone for me? I heard that you're good at choosing your merchandise. I am hoping that you could give me a decent meat."

He's joking...

Leuvis is Joking...

But Conny knows that he's doing that for a reason.

"Mister... Lerin..." Conny called to Lerin. The Demon glanced at her with a mischievous smile.

"She would bring the best, My Lord," Lerin stated.

Conny took a deep breath when she suddenly felt the glares and malice of the children who finally came out from their hiding places towards her.

She's certain of it.

They heard her.

"I shall accompany you," Andrew said which worsen the situation. Conny felt a suspicious glance from him which made her snort. When the Demons left them, he suddenly let out his intimidating presence to Conny.

Conny secretly glared at him. "I don't need help, you should go away."

"I can't do that," Andrew said in a monotonous tone. The other children took a step away when they saw Andrew take out a gun. "Nevermind, I'll be the one who will choose the best."

"Tch... How did I even end up here?" Conny mumbled.

"What are you doing here Mr. Lerin?"

Lerin glanced at Peter Ratri. "I'm going to meet the Grand Duke Leuvis, I want to take this child."
