"Odette? Like that Odette?"

"What the hell is my mother doing here with her?" Logan looked completely stunned. Some color had come back to his face, but I could see he was still in shock.

"I thought your mom was warming up to the idea of us. At least that's the impression I got when we were dress shopping for the wedding. She even insisted on buying my dress. Was she playing me too?"

Logan was engrossed in his phone. He seemed to be furiously texting someone.

"Logan?"

"Oh, sorry, I was texting Honor to see if she knows anything. She's usually up-to-date with Mom's business. I'm hoping she can help solve this mystery. Where's Robert Stack when you need him?"

"I'm pretty sure he's dead," I said, half-heartedly.

Logan's phone buzzed. It was Honor.

"She had no idea Mom was going to be in Paris or that she was still in contact with Odette. I thought the whole thing was behind us," Logan said. "I'm so sorry. I could make a few calls and see if we can't get in somewhere else. I know it's short notice on a Saturday night, but throwing out the Huntzberger name usually gets you just about anything you want...." his voice trailed off.

"I don't blame you at all. I saw the color drain from your face. I just get the feeling that something is going on that you don't know about. As much as I hate to suggest it, maybe you should ask your dad....." I said, a little worried about his reaction. "And if staying here is too much for you, I'm ok going somewhere else. Just not too far because this baby is about to eat me from the inside if I don't get some food soon," I said, with a small laugh.

"I think you're right about talking to my dad. He always knows what's going on everywhere. Even though he's supposed to be taking it easy, he's got someone filling him in every single day," Logan replied with the slightest of smiles.

I could see this was really bothering him. I've only seen him look like this one other time and that was when he dropped me off after the dreadful dinner with his family. I saw the same look on his face when he left me near my dorm room. I glanced over to their table, but they were gone. Where were they? I started to panic a little.

"Logan, where did they go?" I whispered.

His eyes darted around the room rapidly, trying to spy their whereabouts. He was searching frantically. I was looking all over to no avail.

"Are they gone?" I asked.

"I don't see them-"

"Logan, Rory, I didn't think I'd see you here. Aren't you two supposed to be in Hamburg for your honeymoon?" Shira interrupted, appearing out of nowhere.

We were both startled. This time it was the color draining from my face. I was hoping she didn't notice us in the corner. We were far enough out of the way, yet here she was, standing in front of us.

"Well, our plans changed and here we are. What are you doing here, Mom?" he replied.

"Oh, the girls and I decided to have a little ladies' weekend in Paris," she said, lying through her teeth to us. "Don't let me spoil your night! I know the last person anyone wants to see on their honeymoon is a parent. I'll leave you to your dinner. Hope you have a wonderful evening. Goodbye, Logan, Rory," Shira said as she waved and exited.

We sat in stunned silence for a moment as we waited for Shira to completely leave our vicinity. What had I just witnessed? Did she really stand there and tell us a bold-faced lie?!

"I cannot believe she had the nerve to lie straight to my face! She thinks we didn't see her with Odette. I feel like she's up to something.....and I'm going to find out what the hell is going on!" Logan said, angrily.

I had never seen him so angry, but I knew why. He'd been betrayed by his own mother. I put my hand on his in hopes of calming him down. He put his other hand on top of mine. He had quite a grip on my hand.

"Logan...." I said, wincing. I startled him out of his angered daze and he lightened his grip.

"Oh, I'm sorry, Ace. This is just really bothering me. I don't understand. I thought we were beyond all of this."

"I don't either. I think maybe we should just go upstairs and order some room service. We can find some really bad movies to watch and mock relentlessly. Ok?" I suggested. At least in the room we weren't going to run into Odette or his mother again.

"I don't want to ruin this evening. This is our honeymoon. It should be filled with fun and romantic dinners at overpriced restaurants," he said, apologetically.

"It's ok. You know I don't mind room service, take out, or any other crappy little place we find! As long as I'm with you, nothing is ruined," I replied.

"You're right. Let's go upstairs, get comfortable, and order some room service. I'll also shoot my dad a message," he said, signaling the waitress. Logan moved around to my side of the table and helped me out of my seat. He wrapped his arm around my waist and we left Le Cinq.

Once we were in the room, I immediately kicked off the new heels. R-E-L-I-E-F! Either breaking in new shoes is not as easy as it used to be, or my feet are just more finicky with the pregnancy. Whichever way, my feet were free from the confines of the Louboutins. I walked into the bedroom to find my yoga pants and an over-sized t-shirt to put on. Logan stayed in the other room to talk to his dad. I could barely hear him.

"Dad, I really hate to bother you, but why is Mom in Paris having clandestine dinners with Odette?"

(Pause)

"You, of all people, should know what Mom's up to, although it seems to be a common theme. Honor didn't know either. Why would she be sneaking around behind everyone's backs? I thought she was behind me and Rory..."

(Pause)

"Well, it seems suspicious to me too. We need to get to the bottom of this, even if it's only for my and Rory's piece of mind. The whole Odette ordeal needs to be left in the past, where it belongs."

(Pause)

"I need to get back to Rory, Dad. We are on our honeymoon and I don't want it to be marred by this one incident. Let me know what you find out. Thanks again, for helping out and supporting us. It really means a lot. I appreciate it.....we appreciate it!"

(Pause)

"We'll see you when we get back stateside."

I waited a moment. It sounded like the conversation stopped. "Logan?" I called. "Could you help me with my dress?"

There was no way I could contort myself to undo the zipper on this dress. How did I get it up in the first place? No matter how I moved, I couldn't get to the top of the zipper. I must have looked hilariously awkward because Logan busted out laughing when he came in.

"Something funny, Huntzberger?"

"Nope. Nothing at all," he said, stifling more laughter.

"I'm glad this is all so amusing to you," I said. I was glad he was laughing, just not at my expense. I'll take one for the team this time though.

He came up behind me, put his hands on my hips and turned me around. He pulled me close and held me for a long moment. Looking into my eyes, he reached up and unzipped my dress. He pulled me closer and kissed me. Logan backed away, holding my hand. As he backed up, my dress feel to the floor. He gently drew my hand back to him, causing me to move forward. I stepped out of my dress, moving toward him. He sat on the corner of the bed and brought me to him. I was still standing when he lightly kissed my stomach, sending chills up my spine. I caressed his head, letting my fingers run through his blonde hair. He moved his head back and I looked down at him. We climbed onto the middle of the bed, intertwined in each other's arms. Kissing and touching each other. Intense desire growing with each caress.

I had no idea what time it was when I woke up, but the unmistakable pangs of hunger were hard to ignore. In the dark, I stumbled over to the vanity to grab the robe I had worn earlier. I blindly felt my way out of the room and into the next where I could turn on a light after I closed the door behind me. I thought I was being very quiet, but Logan came out shortly after I did.

"I'm sorry, Logan. I was trying to be quiet."

"What time is it?" He looked around for a clock. "Just come back to bed, Ace."

"I would, but the baby is starving and so am I. We were going to order room service, but someone distracted me," I said with a wink and smile.

"I have no idea what you are talking about," he replied with a devilish grin. "Now that you mention it, I'm a bit hungry myself. Let's order some food!"

About twenty minutes later, our food arrived. I'm not even sure what it was, I didn't bother asking. The food was delicious and disappeared quickly. It seems Logan was as hungry as me and the baby.

"Look who's eating for two now?" I teased.

"I guess we should have eaten earlier, huh?" he smiled. "You know, I've been thinking.....would it be ok if we went back home tomorrow instead of Monday? I just don't think I could risk another potential run-in. Honestly, it didn't even cross my mind when I suggested we come here. It would be awkward for all of us."

"I agree, it would be very awkward," I replied.

"Since we're awake.....I had an idea....if you're game...."

"What's that?"

"I know it sounds a little crazy, but let's go for a walk by the Eiffel Tower. I know it's a little on the cool side, but it sounds incredibly romantic and refreshing right now. What do you think?"

"You know, I was thinking about that earlier today. I'd love to go for a refreshing and romantic stroll by the Eiffel Tower, as cliché as it may sound!" I agreed with a big smile. It sounded like a storybook ending to a most unusual day.

I changed into the clothes I had on earlier today while we were shopping. I noticed Logan texting someone. Maybe it was his dad giving him some answers to the earlier situation. I put on my coat, scarf and grabbed a hat. Logan followed suit and we headed for the door when his phone buzzed again.

"Something I should know about?" I questioned.

"Don't you worry that pretty little head of yours, Ace," he said with that air of mystery I had heard so many times before when he was up to something devious.

We left the suite and set out on foot for the Eiffel Tower. It was entirely lit up and twinkling. It was more and more beautiful the closer we got. I put my arm through Logan's as we strolled. It was so wonderfully cliché and I loved every minute of it. Logan checked his phone again. I leaned over, trying to sneak a peek at who he was messaging at this hour.

"What are you trying to see? You'll spoil the surprise!" he said as he kissed me on the cheek.

As we got closer to the structure, he started looking around. Who was he looking for here? Oh, no. Please don't tell me he changed his mind and decided to invite Odette.......

"Rory, Love!"
