They went through the back entrance of an apartment complex and proceeded to go to the front door, which was a fairly easy maneuver. They just had to walk straight ahead until they saw the front door. They got out in a quiet street. The only noises they heard was the sirens from behind the building. They seemed far away, but it didn't fool them. The Peacekeepers would be here very soon. They had to move. Alejandro led the way to the Cutthroat. They tried to stay in the shadows, escaping the all vigilant eyes of the surveillance cameras. Most didn't work, but they couldn't take any chances.

Cat wondered what the place would be like. Tom had described it as a smuggler's den filled with crooks and bandits. Most of them would recognize Alejandro and want retribution. Sounded like danger pay. Then she remembered that her strength was toned down. She also wasn't as batshit crazy as she used to be. In a bar brawl, it was irrelevant anyways. Oh well, thought Cat, still got everything else.

They entered an alley between two buildings. One being demolished and the other was being built. Behind was a row of portable toilets. Charming, thought Cat. Alejandro opened one and instead of a regular toilet seat waiting for them, another door was present. It looked reinforced and formidable. The door went transparent and someone on the other side asked them. "We specialize in shit."

"But not on Mondays." Alejandro replied.

The door swung open and an immense man let them in, eying them suspiciously. "Serrano." The man said to Alejandro.

"Hi Mitts, they're with me. How's your mother?"

"Better, that doctor really fixed her up. She's a lot more comfortable now."

"Glad to hear it big guy."

"So, you don't only swindle people, some of them, you've helped." Tom said.

"I swindle only the ones that deserves it." Alejandro said self-righteously.

"Tell that to half this room." Cat said as she observed the people in the room glaring at them.

"Ignore them, they're only jealous of me having a beautiful girl talking to me. Most of them still live in their mother's basement." Alejandro said, winking at Cat.

"Somehow, I doubt this statement very much." She replied. She was having difficulties imagining this crowd still living with their parents.

"Let's just sit down and do what we came here for." He said.

They all sat down at an empty table. It hadn't been wiped properly in ages. The dispenser located in the middle of their table came to life. "Good evening, what'll it be?"

"And why did you come here for exactly?" Cat asked Alejandro.

"To drink and hope to hell they don't find us before I'm properly wasted."

Looking at the hostile faces around them, Tom said. "You had to say 'wasted'."

"Do you have Martian Screwdrivers here?" Cat asked the dispenser.

"What's that?" Jimmy asked her.

"Vodka and blood orange juice."

"We have it." The dispenser replied to her question.

"I want to try it!" Jimmy exclaimed.

"Nope. you're underage." Alejandro said.

"Like it matters here." Jimmy said, looking around. "See, nobody cares."

"I care. No booze for you. Don't be in such a hurry, you'll get acquainted with the stuff soon enough the way your love life is going."

"What's that supposed to mean?" Jimmy said, hotly.

"Ariadne." Alejandro simply answered.

"Who's Ariadne?" Tom asked.

"Don't ask." Alejandro advised him.

Jimmy gave them both a scathing look. They heard a quiet sob and turned to see Cat with her face in her hands.

Cat gave a quick sneeze as she got her head out and said. "Sorry, you guys were talking about love and I realized I just lost mine."

"Poor Cat." Jimmy said, putting a comforting hand on her shoulder.

"Payment?" The table asked them.

"There you are, my good table." Alejandro said, putting a crystal on the table. A circle of light surrounded the small rectangular object, flashed a few times and confirmed payment. "Thank you Louis." Alejandro said.

"Alejandro, you rascal, you swiped Louis's identicard." Jimmy said, laughing.

A glass came up from the table's innards filled with a red liquid.

"Well, what do you know, they do have Martian Screwdrivers." Tom said, pushing the small drink towards her. he noticed Cat shivering.

"Are you alright? It's quite warm in here." He told her.

"It's nothing, it's just the side-effect of being in cryo for so long. I can't seem to warm up."

Jimmy took off her over-sized pilot's coat and put it on Cat's shoulders.

"Thanks." Cat said, grateful.

"Don't look up, Wild Boy McGriffin is coming our way." Jimmy whispered.

They all looked up. Jimmy facepalmed, groaning. The man was about Alejandro's height but had twenty pounds of muscles more than him and Alejandro was no lightweight.

"You got some nerve showing your face here after what you did." McGriffin seemed to notice that Alejandro wasn't alone. "Oh, hey Jimmy. Still hanging out with this loser?"

"He owes me money." Jimmy replied.

"Figures." McGriffin refocused his attention back to Alejandro, totally ignoring the others. "Now, you are going to tell me where my ship is or my crew and I will be obliged to reconfigure your destinies."

"About the Sawbone, I kinda misplaced it. And by misplaced, I meant sold." Alejandro gave McGriffin an artificial smile.

McGriffin's crew consisted of six very scary individuals. Four men and two women. They closed in on them slightly. Cat, instantly stood up and observed them warily.

"Cat, sit. We don't want to engage this crew in combat. We'll be eating flowers by their roots tomorrow if we do." Alejandro said placantly to Cat who didn't sit down.

"Smart man. Now, come with me. We have important business to discuss you and I." McGriffin said as he led Alejandro towards a door. They opened it and disappeared into the room behind it.

After a twenty minutes yelling session, they reappeared to find the six members of McGriffin's crew unconscious on the floor.

McGriffin, apoplectic, asked Cat. "What the fuck happened?"

Cat pointed to one of the girls and replied. "She looked at me funny."

McGriffin looked at Alejandro and asked him. "She for real?"

"Hell yeah, she's as real as they get. That girl is The Commander. You know, the Martian Bogeyman?" Alejandro told him.

McGriffin locked eyes with Catherine, saw the crazy in them and quickly looked away. "Shiiiit. You brought that time bomb in the Cutthroat? Are you mad? The whole planet is looking for her. That Murakami bitch has a bee in her bonnet that looks just like her and she won't stop until she's found little miss psychopath here." He looked at Cat. "No insult intended ma'am."

Cat gave him a sour look and replied. "None taken, I guess."

"Can you help us?" Alejandro asked him.

"First tell me where is the Sawbone?"

"Where I left it. Hangar two, bay eleven. Raven's berth. He's the owner now."

"No for long." McGriffin said menacingly. He took out a crystal from his pocket and handed it to Alejandro. "Go to this address, the old lady there will help you."

"Thanks." Alejandro looked McGriffin in the eyes and said. "You were always there to help me when I needed it."

Their look deepened, they moved closer to each other and engaged in a deep kiss.

Tom and Cat's jaws fell down a few inches and Jimmy exclaimed. "Well, that explains a lot."
