Jab arrived as they pushed Cat's rack to the infirmary. It was a precautionary measure to check if the gravity displacer hadn't hurt Cat's internal organs. They had a tendency to do that.

"What happened?" She asked Sleepy who just pointed to Althea.

"Ask Snow. She just went ten rounds with the girl."

Jab walked to her commanding officer and waited until Althea finished giving orders to the two Peacekeepers in the cell with her.

"I want sedative gas piped in this room from now on. I can't go in and subdue every augmented we incarcerate."

"Yes ma'am." They left and Jab approached her.

"What happened?" She asked Althea.

"Probably a bad dream like last time. They're getting worse. She was like a scared and cornered animal."

"A dangerously strong animal." Jab said pointing to Althea's damaged armor.

"I had to use a gravity displacer on her."

"Ouch."

"I need your help lieutenant."

"Oh? With what?"

"I need you to use bio-nanites on her to modify the serum's effects. It helped you didn't it?"

"Yeah... Why didn't I think of that? It's worth a try."

"It better work Murakami or Catherine might spend the rest of her sentence tied to a rack like an animal."

With Althea's last words on her mind, Jab called Tiffy to ask the robot to bring the truck she used to carry modules for her former lifter. "Bring it to loading dock 14c."

"May I ask why?" Tiffy asked her.

"I'm taking Catherine for a ride."

"Oh, okay."

She caught up with Sleepy in the infirmary. "She okay?"

"Yeah, she's fine." They heard more screams. "As you can hear." Sleepy added.

"I'm taking the prisoner." She showed him her orders Althea had given her.

"Where?"

"For a swim."

"What do you mean 'for a swim'!?"

"See ya." She gave as her only reply and walked to Dr. Moses's examining room. Catherine was still in the rack screaming her head off.

"Can't you sedate her?" Jab yelled above Cat's screams.

"She's moving too much."

Jab walked over and punched Cat in the face, knocking her out like a light. "There, blissful silence."

"What happened?" Sleepy asked as he came in the room.

"I'm in the same room with a screaming person. What do you think happened?" Jab asked the huge Peacekeeper.

"Oh, right." He turned to leave but stopped and said. "Oh! Come by the lounge. I recorded Snow's sparring session with little miss nightmare here. I'll play it this evening. Colonel Thonarr has a date with Captain Yoshimura in the eastern part of the city."

"So she won't know you're using her as entertainment."

Sleepy looked nervous.

"I'll be there. Just after I finish with her. See you there." Jab said.

Sleepy left looking considerably relieved.

Jab asked the doctor. "She okay?"

"Nothing so far. But I'm concerned about her mental health. She sleeps badly and doesn't eat much. It's taking a toll on her. I fear the worst if she stays like that."

"I'll try to use the bio-nanites to help her with the serum's side-effects like I was helped."

"I could fill a tub if you want."

"No, for this I need to talk to mother directly."

"What do you mean?"

"I need the ocean. To be in it directly with Catherine."

"Why?"

"I need to ask permission from mother and that can't be done from a bath tub full of them. I need the full ocean. Where she is."

She grabbed the floating rack and made her way to loading dock 14. Door c was already open and Tiffy was waiting for her. "Hey girlfriend." She said greeting Jab.

"Want to come with us to the sea?"

"No thank you, I don't like water very much. Anything humid revolts me. You girls go and have fun, I'm busy researching the network tonight. The mayor asked for my counsel again." Tiffy said, not without pride.

"On what?"

"Her." Tiffy pointed at Cat. "She's causing all kinds of troubles to the administration. It's either people wanting to kill her, others try to free her and let's not forget her amiable temper."

"It's not her fault. You know that. It's that damned unrefined Peacekeeper serum they injected her with that is the problem. That's why I'm bringing her to mother. Maybe she can fix her like she did for me."

"And make her stronger like it did for you? Sounds a little dangerous."

"I have an idea on that point."

"Okay, I trust you. But her tantrums aren't the only problems with her."

"Oh?"

"Think about it Jab. She's the most hated person on this planet. Hell, on all three planets. She killed directly and indirectly so many people that everyone in the Terra Nova crew knows at least one person she killed. She killed Linda for christ's sakes."

"Shht! Yeshua might hear you." Jab said laughing. "I'm just taking this problem one step at the time. I promised her father that I would undo everything he did to her to turn her into this... monster and I swear I'll keep my word. I'll show the bastard."

Tiffy pinched the bridge of her nose. "You're batshit crazy, you know that flesh and bones? But if it makes you feel better, then by all means." She gestured to the big idling truck waiting for them. "Have a nice trip."

"Could you help me? I need to attach the rack to the electromagnet."

"That should be an interesting ride for her." Tiffy commented laughing.

The truck had an empty space in the middle with an electromagnet situated on the central spine to attach the various modules that were needed by the Valkyrie. Jab brought Cat's rack in the middle and gave Tiffy the thumbs up to Tiffy who flipped the power on. The rack flew up and banged hard on the magnet, securely attached.

Cat, rattled by the shock chose that moment to wake up. She writhed in her restraints furious. "Let me go! What are you doing you crazy bitch!"

"Who's calling who crazy?" Jab said as she got in the cabin of the big truck. She waved Tiffy goodbye as she drove out to the coast. This was going to be a long ride.

Halfway there, she stopped and parked the truck next to a dirt road she would have to take for the rest of her journey to the ocean. She got out and climbed up to the rack. She sat on the rear deck close to the middle spine and opened a bottle of water. Cat was observing her. She was dusty and spiting dirt.

"Now you behave and I'll give you some. Don't and I'll drink the whole thing in your face. Wakaru? (Understand?)"

"I'll behave." She drank as Jab held the bottle to her lips. Then she said. "You know one of the thing about you that always bothered me?"

Jab was drinking the rest of the bottle's contents. She stopped and looked inquiringly at her prisoner. "Hm? What's that?"

"When you speak Japanese, do you think we understand you fucking idiot!? NO! We don't! So speak standard like the rest of us! Do I speak Martian Dutch with my standard? NO!" Cat screamed at the top of her lungs.

"You're clearly in a bad mood. I know a good cure for little girl bitching. Dirt. A good healthy dose of it. Look to your right. See that dirt road? That's our way to the coast. You've had it easy so far on the highway. If I were you I'd hold on, it's going to be a bumpy ride girl."

"Wait! Don't leave me here! You bitch! I HATE YOU!"

Her voice was cut off when Jab entered the truck's cabin once more and turned into the dirt road. She floored the massive vehicle and its monstrous tires lifted huge clouds of dust. Jab almost felt sorry for the Martian girl. Almost. But she did call her a bitch.

After an hour of hectic driving bouncing on the road at higher than recommended speeds, they finally got to the coast. Jab had chosen a place devoid of a beach. Instead, she chose a chalk cliff. Green on top and white on its face. She came here sometimes to dive in the ocean to relax. She had checked the place thoroughly a few months ago and had found no rocks waiting for her at the bottom of the cliff. Just clear waters and a little trail to climb back up. Perfect spot to relax and lose yourself when life was overwhelming. She also came here to commune and consult the entity she called 'mother'. Unlike Fatara, she preferred swimming to standing in the rain when she wanted to speak with Aurora's caretaker. An entity composed of a ocean full of bio-nanites. Using them as a human brain would use neurons.

Jab got out of the truck and cut the power to the electromagnet. Cat's rack fell to the ground with a jarring thump. Jab looked at Cat, her eyes were closed. Almost certainly knocked out by the fall. Cat was covered with dust from head to toe. Probably had dust in her underwear and bra.

She snickered at the thought as she undid Cat's restraints and got her out of the rack's frame. Cat's eyes flew open and she grabbed Jab's throat with both hands laughing like a maniac. Jab got a handful of Cat's hair in her hands and pulled the other girl's head towards hers with great force. She head butted Catherine with the top of her head, connecting with Catherine's already broken nose. Catherine fell to the ground unconscious and not faking it this time. Jab grabbed her by the hair and pulled her to the edge of the cliff. When she got there, she tossed Cat over the edge and watched her fall to the waiting waves at the bottom.

A splash later, Catherine's head reappeared on the surface. "I can't swim!"

"I know." Said Jab in a little voice that Catherine couldn't hear with the waves crashing all around her. Jab dived after her and fell headfirst. Breaking the water with barely a splash.

"Help!" Catherine was still yelling when she could manage to resurface. She was thrashing like crazy. Jab swam to her and pushed her head under the surface of the waters. Panicked, Catherine tried to fight her but the other girl held her firmly and kept her from going up for air. In her state of panic, she quickly used up the air in her lungs. They burned and wanted fresh air. Cat tried to fight the reflex to breath in. She lost and inhaled water. As she was drowning, she observed the girl in front of her. Jabrina didn't have her facial scars anymore. She looked like Annie Kimura. Cat was surprised that the thought of Annie didn't scare her so much. She felt serene as she reached and touched Jab's face in an almost tender way. Then blissful darkness engulfed her.
