I felt the presence of someone standing above me before I heard them speak. "Oh? Near death already?" The voice said. It was a strange noise and seemed to come from all directions and bounce around in my head. I tried to move- tried to speak- but couldn't seem too. The voice made my heartbeat increase. Who are they? How can I hear them?

"You can relax, Y/N. I'm but an observer now." The voice said. It caused a buzzing in my memory- like something so close to being realized, just under the surface. "I suppose you don't remember who I am... but I can arrange for that to be changed..."

A hand was placed upon my head and there was a bright flash of light, and darkness overcame me as a feeling of falling engulfed my body.

-----

I was now standing up- or it felt like it. I tried to look at my body but saw nothing. Everything was simply white- it seemed endless- aside from a desk sitting unattended nearby.

There was suddenly someone pulling back one of the chairs. A tall cloaked figure sat down, pulling out some papers. All of a sudden there was a flash and I saw myself- or my old self- laying on the ground- in the same position I died in. "Is this heaven?" I asked, pushing off of the ground.

"I'm afraid not." The man sitting on the desk said, his face completely shadowed. I watched as the other me paled.

"Oh. Then you're-"

"I'm afraid I'm not Satan either." The figure said. I watched as I blinked before shrugging. The man gestured for me to sit down at the chair adjacent to him. "To answer the questions swirling around in your brain- I am not a god but I suppose to you humans I may be perceived as one- however, I'm something more like the overseer of dimensions, and guider of mortals- specifically, ones who enjoyed anime, manga, and the like while they were alive." The other me hummed as I sat down and folded my hands in my lap. The figure nodded before continuing. "I give souls like yourself a chance to be reincarnated into one of the worlds of these animes and mangas as you would desire- however, it always comes with a price." He said before leaning forward, his figure growing in size.

"Then, Y/N. You may continue to the afterlife that follows your religion...or... you can become reincarnated into a universe of your choosing- be it an anime, book, manga, etc, and live your life out there. Which do you chose?" He asked, sitting back down in his seat.

The other Y/N hummed. "Well, I mean, the second option." she said with a shrug, as if the choice were obvious. From my vantage point I couldn't see the man's face, but I could tell he was grinning from the sound of his voice.

"Excellent choice. Then, which universe would that be?" He asked me.

I watched as I bit my lip. "The Promised Neverland." I stated after a moment of thinking. I blinked, the memory of why I chose this universe beginning to resurface. 'I see... so the whole reason I came here was because of the people I'd be able to save in the first place... If only I could've remembered this sooner!'

The man wrote something down on a sheet of paper before looking back up. "Then... I will now be giving you some dice. Depending on what you role will affect your abilities in this other world. He then gave me a bunch of D20 dice and I blinked before rolling them all at once. I watched as the man saw my rolls and dropped his pen.

"You managed to get 16-20 on every single dice but two... which you got a 3 and 8 on." He face-palmed. Each of the dice was a different colour and therefore meant something different.

He then wrote down the results and explained what they meant. "You're exceptional in every category but two. The lowest you got aside from character relevance- which is 3, and wisdom- which is 8 is strength, which you received a 16 on.

I hummed. "What does character relevance mean?" I asked.

"It's the only one that doesn't have to do with abilities- for example, if you received a nat 20, in this dimension, you would be best friends with the original trio of The Promised Neverland. A little lower and you may've been a different age, or a little less close to them. But in this case..." He sighed. "It'll mean being a different age and inhibiting a different plant. I suppose this was done to balance out all of your other exceptionally high rolls..." He sighed.

I frowned. "But my relevance is just to the original plot, right? That means as time goes on my relevance could be higher depending on my interference with the plot?" I watched as the other me asked.

The man nodded. "Yes, that is how it works. You are entering an alternate universe- once you are there you are no longer under my jurisdiction, either. Of course, while there, you may change the timeline however you please- that's not to say there won't be consequences." He finished explaining.

"Consequences?"I asked.

"Yes. Although nothing bad will happen to you specifically, the plotline will likely deviate from the original the more you interfere. This can mean future events you already know of may cease to exist or change."

I sighed. "So it's a bad idea..." I pursed my lips, but the man hummed in disagreement.

"Not necessarily. Once you transfer there you will become a natural inhabitant of that universe. It will indeed become a different universe from the one parallel to the anime- without your interference the major events will still follow the timeline of the original. However, even without you interfering, the timeline will be slightly different just because of your existence. The more you change simply amplifies the amount that is different." He finished at last. 'Damn. Really wish I remembered this since the beginning.'

I watched as myself- or my previous self- leaned back on my chair. "Then..." I asked. "What about the cost?"

The man seemed to smile. "The cost isn't that bad- simply the first 10 years of your life- or the memories of them- will be taken as the price. As well, during the first 10 years of your life, you will not have access to your original memories" He furthered. My previous self nodded her head.

"Seems fair enough- as long as I'll have my original memories after the 10 years?" I asked, the man confirming my other self's question with a nod.

"Then, in accordance with the proper procedure, I should let you know that when you awaken, you will not be in your own body, for I cannot change your own body's abilities to match the levels you achieved with your dice rolls- even more so since I am not a 'god' of this other universe- so instead, once your soul arrives, the universe will instead create a body to accommodate both the circumstances of the world and the abilities your body needs to have naturally."

I cocked my head to the side in question. "So I won't look like...well...me?" I asked, the man nodding in response.

"It is unlikely. In addition, you will not remember this conversation until I desire so.Then, are you ready?" He asked me- or the other me. I watched as I bit my lip before nodding my head.

"I'm ready."

"Then, see you later, Y/N." I watched as he placed his thumb on my forehead, my body shimmering out of existence. My heart jumped as the man turned to me and I saw a glimpse of where his face should be- but it was blurred so much I couldn't see any of his features. I saw him wave at me before the world suddenly seemed to shimmer, vibrating and shaking. A sensation of falling overcame me and then the world went dark once again.

-----

I felt my consciousness transfer back to my original body as I returned. All of a sudden there was a searing pain throughout myself. I would've screamed if I could.

"Sorry. I suppose the- out of body experience- so to say, wasn't appreciated by your soul. It'll pass in a moment"

Like he said the pain soon subsided. I found myself wanting to speak, to move, anything. Alas, I could do nothing but stay silent and still.

"Now, I'm here to warn you, that if you die in this universe there will be no do overs. 'Isn't that obvious?' You may be thinking. The answer is both yes and no- Right now, I may take you back to your original reality. But if you refuse now... well, I won't be able to offer you the choice again until you reach the end of your lifespan. I didn't think you'd be so close to death so soon..." He said with a hum. "Oh, I suppose you can't answer me at the moment." He realized after a few seconds of silence. "Your soul is highly rejecting being in this sub-dimension. I suppose that is unfortunate. Oh well. I can feel your intentions anyway." He paused for a moment before sighing. "Are you sure? No second chances, you know." He said. "You could really die, you know." I felt him stand up and turn away. "Ok, Y/N. This will likely be the last time we will talk. Goodbye, then."

I felt the falling sensation again as I shifted. But not much was different. I still couldn't move or speak. My body was unbearably cold in comparison to when I was in the other dimension. I felt as my warm blood continued seeping out of the holes in my stomach.

Everyone... can they still do it without me? Emma has the gun with the flash bullet...can they do it? Is it really ok for me to die now? But there's still so many I have to save...

Stand up. C'mon Y/N, you lazy butt. There's no going back now.

Get up! Yuugo, Lucas, Isabella, everyone... I still need to save them!

I felt my awareness come back to my body. I could feel the sensation of my fingertips to my toes. 'Stand up!' I felt my fingers as they pushed against the ground, moving to my elbow. Slowly but surely I stood up, taking the gun that lay beside me. If I can distract Leuvis so he doesn't realize the difference in Emma's bullet...

I made it to my feet, steadying my position. I raised the second hand gun I'd had with me and placed my finger on the trigger. I blinked, trying to clear my eyesight. Just one extra gun firing... to use up his regeneration faster... I fired the gun multiple times, Leuvis turning towards me in shock. I watched as Emma switched guns while he was distracted and fired the flash bullet. I shielded my eyes as it lit up, immediately raising my gun and firing it once more. I watched as Leuvis got hit repeatedly, the bullet from my gun hitting him square on the face.

My gun fell to my side as I somehow remained standing through sheer adrenaline. 'Everyone...everyone is ok! Emma is safe too! And Pepe, Zack, and Sandy are all less injured!'

"WE DID IT!!" Everyone was cheering and celebrating. They all looked to Adam, following Nigel, to make sure he was ok. Despite my condition a small smile spread across my face. 'The first real win for me! Everyone is ok-"

I went to take a step forward and found my foot slipping. 'Except me. Sh*t'

I blacked out before I even collided with the ground, my consciousness finally slipping.
