As soon as we re-entered Gracefield, Emma ran straight to the gate that led to the adjoining farms to search for her siblings- namely Phil and Sherry. I ran after her, my heart racking loudly in my chest, as Ray, Thoma, Lani, and all the Gracefield children all quickly trailed behind us.

I followed the ginger through a large gate, the ground quickly changing from the rough concrete to soft grass as we ran, footsteps thudding on the earth. Emma stopped atop a hill, her bright orange hair blowing around her as a breeze blew by. "Phil." I heard her mutter as I arrived to her side, seeing the young dark-haired boy in question, who turned to Emma with a confused expression.

"Emma...?" They boy murmured, his eyes widening as his confusion turned to shock.

Emma's eyes crinkled as she held back uncontrollable joy. "I'm home, Phil-!!"

The young boy bursted into tears, an overjoyed expression on his face. "Welcome home, Emma!!" He cried, running towards the ginger girl, who flung off her bag and gun in order to grasp the boy in a tight hug.

"Sorry to make you wait so long!" Emma apologized, her own eyes brimming with tears as she nuzzled her head into his. Phil shook his head with a happy sigh.

"No, not at all!" He reassured her happily. "I always believed you would come back for us!!"

"Phil-!!" Gilda called as she and the others arrived to the top of the hill and caught sight of their long-missed sibling. I turned back around and scanned for my plant 2 friends, catching no sight of any of them. 'They must've headed back to plant 2 to see their old siblings... say 'hi' to them for me, kay?'

"Gilda, Nat, everyone-!!"

The air went still as soon as Norman arrived on scene, Phil's eyes widening and filling with tears once more. "Norman?!" He walked up to him, grabbing onto the albino boy's arms as the tall boy stooped down towards his younger brother with a soft smile, placing his hands on Phil's  cheeks. "You're alive??" The dark-haired child asked in relief.

Norman smiled softly. "Yeah."

"Thank goodness!!" Phil exclaimed once again, with a cheerful sob.

Norman's eyebrows drew together, a grateful and bittersweet expression on his face. "And thanks for protecting our siblings." Phil's eyes widened and brimmed with tears again, his expression becoming pained as he looked to the ground guiltily. Ray caught sight of the boy and walked over, a knowing expression on his face.

"It must have been tough." He smiled thinly as he crouched, laying a comforting hand on the boy's head. "Sorry." He apologized, understanding well Phil's experience. "And thanks."

The smile on my face deepened as Phil gulped before bursting into tears once again, clinging onto the ravenhead, who hugged in response. His other siblings soon crowded around the boy as well, great expressions of joy and relief on their faces.

"-You still have your gun?" Yuugo observed with a tilt of his head, as he arrived besides me. My smile wavered for a moment before I recovered.

I grinned, raising my eyebrows. "I can see you meant it when you said 'You'd be coming no matter where I went next."

Yuugo rolled his eyes. "I've got to look after my problem children, after all."

"Aizawa kinnie." I muttered under my breath, although my hands clenched and unclenched on my gun nervously.

"So?" Yuugo hummed, clearly not letting the topic go. "Why the gun?" I pursed my lips in response. Yuugo raised an eyebrow before turning back ahead, a remorseful glint in his eyes as he watched the Gracefield children continue to rejoice together. "Is something unexpected going to happen again?" He asked. I paused for a moment before nodding grimly, my shoulders tensing. Yuugo scratched his chin stubble. "And you didn't tell them," He began so smile softly, turning back to the children crying of happiness. "You didn't want to ruin this little moment of theirs?"

I chewed the inside of my lip. "Yeah. That, and, if we're not here for this moment- when there's still one demon hell-bent on eating these children... it might kill the innocents here, and if I told her, Emma wouldn't like that, so knowing her, she'd come anyway..."

The man hummed in agreement. "I see..." After a moment of pause he suddenly thumped me on the back with his hand, sending me stumbling forward. "Well, I'm here, right? So it'll be fine this time." He grinned, unclipping his gun from his bag and holding it at the ready. "Now, get in there and celebrate with them."

My eyebrows scrunched together. "Yuugo, I don't think-"

"I said it'll be fine." He sighed, rolling his eyes. "I'll be here at the ready. Relax a little, Y/N. You deserve it." He then gave me a sh*t-eating-grin, although his eyes glinted darkly. "Leave it to the not-stay-at-home-dad."

I pursed my lips before swallowing dryly. "...fine." I sighed, trudging over to the group of happy children, reattaching my gun to my bag. "Hey Phil." I grinned, kneeling besides the chattering kids.

Phil turned his attention towards me me with an ecstatic grin. "Y/N-!! It's good to see that you're okay too!" I patted his head in response. Although rarely, Phil had come to the wall to coordinate with me, and whoever I brought with, and undoubtedly- even before meeting him- I loved this little rascal.

"Yeah. Nice work, buddy." I grinned, ruffling his hair. My head flicked as Isabella as she arrived to the clearing, speaking quickly and kindly to the mom who was there, who soon cried her own tears of relief. The young boy in front of me then blinked a few times, before turning to Emma.

"So we can go now?" He asked, tugging on her jacket, causing the ginger to turn her attention to him once more. "To the human world?"

Emma nodded happily. "Yeah." Her eyes flicked to mine, a thankful smile on her face. "Thanks to Y/N, we can all go to the-"

"Step back-!!" Yuugo suddenly yelled. I sprang to my feet and spun towards him as a demon appeared right behind a group of young Gracefield kids. They screamed and tried to run away as the old escapee raised his gun.

"This is my farm. My meat." The demon growled, lunging towards the children as they ran away, pale in fear as they wailed. Yuugo took a step forward, and the demon's claws raced towards him.

"YUUGO-!!" I screamed, unbuttoning my own gun in an instant.

"BAANG-!!"

I slumped to the ground, letting out a long, shaky breath.

The demon was dead. Several bullets through it's shoulder, one hitting it from the back of the head, shooting right through the middle of it's head. Yuugo stood a few feet away, gun raised at the ready. He let it fall to his side with a long sigh. "Goddamn." He muttered, leaning back and rubbing the back of his head. "I saw it coming, but that was a surprise."

I shook my head in relief. "Oh, thank god." I exhaled, setting my gun to the ground besides me, leaning back on my hands. 'It's over... right?' My heart suddenly jumped in it's chest at the thought of a failure. "Are you sure it's dead??" I exclaimed worriedly, raised to my feet again, though the demon remained unmoving.

Yuugo turned to me, raising an eyebrow. "Are you doubting my abilities that much, kid?" I chewed on my cheek in response. "It's fine." He rolled his eyes. "I shot it right in the middle of the head." He bent down towards the demon with a sigh, after seeing my expression. "I'll make sure, though."

He nonchalantly nudged the demon a few times with its foot. "Yeah, it's dead."

"Are you sure that you're sure?" I asked, inching towards him. "Like extra sure?" I spoke again worriedly.

Yuugo let out a long, drawn-out groan as I approached, leaning over the very obviously dead demon. "Would ya like to check it yourself?"

I shook my head upon seeing it up close. "No, it's definitely dead." I nodded once I finished reinspecting the corpse, the huge amounts of relief suddenly came surging through me. "It's really dead." My eyes widened, tears brimming in the corner. 'Is it... really over? They can all go back safely now? Every one else- is that true?'

Yuugo turned to me with a proud, reassuring grin, as a shout came from behind me. '"Y/N-!!" I froze and looked to the demon in front of me, Yuugo's face quickly turning pale, his eyes wide. But the demon behind him was still laying still.  'Then what-'

A hand grabbed me from the front and yanked me forward, sending me sprawling onto my back. 'What-'

I stared, wide eyed, as blood dropped suddenly, splattering the ground and beginning to colour my boots and the green grass around them a bright red.

My heart thudded in my ears as it slowed, some of the blood splattering my cheek, the sound of my breathing rattled loudly in my chest, my stomach dropping to my feet, and my eyes widening in shock. I turned white as a sheet as more deep crimson blood fell, barely even able to support myself with my hands as my whole body trembled at the horrifying sight.

"...Yuugo?"
