"I see..." Ray sighed, pinching his chin in thought. "The promise really will have a repercussion... And Mujika has the ability to give demons the ability to avoid degeneration without eating humans"

"And you're sure you want to make your promise?" Emma asked me worriedly.

I smiled lightly. "You bet your sorry *ss I do!" I exclaimed, grateful for the lack of threat of a swear jar.

We stood in silence for a moment before Ray spoke up once again, a suspicious expression on his face. "You're not hiding anything else, right?" He asked suspiciously, raising an eyebrow. "Like what 'he' asked for in return for the promise, specifically?"

I smiled brightly. "No idea!" I cheered innocently and unwittingly, pumping my fist into the air, just barely managing to keep my nervous laugh completely in the inside. 'Something already feels off. I feel like telling him would make the situation worse...'

Ray face-palmed with a quiet groan while Emma laughed brightly. "It's okay, though! I'm sure it'll be nothing much!" I finished with a smile.

"Yeah!" Emma grinned cheerfully. "So lets go tell everyone our plan!"

We called everyone to a meeting and Emma, Ray, and I walked towards the room everyone was waiting in. "Hey hey heyyyyy!" I kicked the door in, greeted by many faces as the children had all gathered in a crowd. "Sooo, we bad b*tchez have an announcement,,, We're going to the seven walls because Norman's plan is bitch*ss!"

"EHHHH-?!" Everyone exclaimed in shock. I'm pretty sure Yuugo was convinced I was on drugs. Whether his cocked eyebrow was because he was disappointed in me for presumably taking them or disappointed in me for not sharing, I'm not sure.

Emma gave everyone a closed-eyed grin as she elbowed me harshly in the stomach. "Well, it's not like Norman's plan is bad... but... the demons... although wiping them out is the most reliable, correct, way, there aren't only bad demons out there... If they were all bad it would be so much easier... but then there's demons like Mujika and Sonju, right? If at all possible, I don't want to kill them all... Although it's entirely my own selfishness... I don't plan on dragging any of you into this. Even though I have no idea if there will be another way than extinction..." Emma continued speaking while I was doubled over, holding onto my stomach after she elbowed me right in the diaphragm.

"My spleen-" I moaned in pain.

"You don't even know where your spleen is, dumb*ss." Ray seethed through his teeth with a raised eyebrow. I scowled and delivered a sharp stomp to his foot, to which he retaliated with a yell and a smack to the top of the head. Emma continued speaking while Ray and I dissolved into chaos, arguing and fighting while the poor ginger girl tried to keep a smile on her face as she spoke.

"So Y/N, Ray,"  While Emma continued speaking, Gilda and Reina leaned towards us and spoke in a hushed tone.

"You two better cut it out before we provide a personal demonstration on where the spleen is located in the body." Ray and I immediately ceased our banter, Gilda and Reina smiling sweetly- if you can call the smile of someone who just threatened to literally rearrange your guts that, before turning back to Emma as she spoke.

"-and I will be heading out for a bit! I want us to make a choice we wont regret. I want us to choose our future."

"I see..." Lani murmured. "Is it just that our imaginations are lacking, or..."

"You guys haven't seen the demon civilizations out there." I explained with a serious tone- something rarely present in my voice. "The only demons you've ever seen in persons are the ones who are trying to fry you up and eatchu on a shish kebab." Never-mind. The serious tone was a lie. Almost as big a lie as me telling myself "Everything's going to be all right" every morning.

Sandy pursed his lips with a frown, all of them unaware of my inner thoughts as I wheezed/cried/died/screeched (take your pick) inside. "Even though I hate them so much... I still can't imagine our enemy has a side like that to them..."

"But I despise demons!" Gillian exclaimed, clenching her fist, a pained expression on her face. "I get what you're saying, Emma. They're your friends... so you don't want to kill Sonju nor Mujika, but... But!... But everyone here is more important to me than the demons! The enemy doesn't show mercy! I want to have our friends protected first of all...! But to do that... kids... even babies... I, I-" Gillian began crying due to her inner conflict from the decision. Paula wrapped her in her arms, comforting the teenage girl while she cried.

"Even..." Reina muttered sadly. "Even though you've been hurt by them so many times!" She asked me, Gilda making a similar comment while the glasses-wearing-girl held Emma's forearms.

"How can you make a choice like that!" They exclaimed in worry.

Ray shrugged. "Because they're weirdos." He stated, as if it was the solution to all his problems "At first, I couldn't grasp it all either."

"But that's Emma for you. Y/N, too." Don grinned. "Well then, go right on ahead, you three. It's Y/N, Emma, and Ray, after all. This is the result of their thinking, after all. And also, with Y/N with them, I'm sure they'll be able to avoid the risks of  'The Seven Walls' and the promise. It's not like I dislike Emma's ideals, or don't trust Y/N's plan-making, although they can be a bit...interesting, at times. More than anything, 'If we take on this burden we'll be able to live without regrets', That's why us escapees have always chosen freedom, right?" Don's eyes crinkled as he smiled.

Poppy let out a loud laugh. "And even if we told you not to you'd do it anyway, right?" She grinned, ruffling my hair. A laugh echoed throughout the room while I fixed it once again, tired of people messing it up.

"Don't worry about us." I hummed with a smile. "It's the path we chose. It's the best option for everyone- demons, humans, and everyone..." I whispered the next part in my heart, 'everyone supposed to be on a different path,' "... plus..."

"We won't let Norman sacrifice his life ever again." Emma concluded for me, a bittersweet smile filling her face.

"Eh?" Those who knew Norman asked confusedly, beginning to realize Emma's point.

"Norman?" Everyone, including the ones who had only recently met the boy, questioned.

"Yeah." Ray sighed, crossing his arms. "That guy's the same he's always been."

Emma frowned, her eyebrows scrunching up together. "He's not just trying to solve this by throwing his life away, though. But again, for all of our sake, he's trying to sacrifice himself and carry the entire burden on his own."

Ray nodded. "Neither Emma, Y/N, or I are convinced. His shipment, his escape. He thinks that his answer is the only successful one."

Emma looked up as she spoke, as if peering into a past I couldn't see, which is ironic, considering I know the events of the past from her point of view. "But we haven't succeeded at all. Everyone's tried their hardest, and this isn't the end, but- to all of us... the second that we let Norman get shipped out... that escape could never be called a success. I don't want to have the same regrets again. I won't let it happen this time. I want to prove to Norman that 'We don't know if we try!' Although this is honestly just me being selfish here..."

I snorted. "If that's you being 'selfish' what do you call Yuugo's secret cookie stash?" I muttered a little louder than intended, accidentally being heard by the whole room.

"Brat." Yuugo spat with a growl as Lucas turned on him.

"Really, Yuugo? Is that where all of the extra cookies have gone?" The redhead scolded the other adult. "So immature." He huffed, tsking disappointedly while he crossed his arms.

Yuugo stuck me a look that read 'You'll regret this.'  "That secret cookie stash which you will no longer be permitted to steal from, yes" He retaliated like the kid he was.

"*sshole." I muttered with a pout, while the ravenhead, still speaking, gave me a look that read to shut up.

"But for that reason, we want to go to the seven walls." Ray began concluding his explanation. "If I go, I may be able to find more possibilities. I'll see what there is, then quickly return. Before Norman has the royal family and aristocrats killed. But..." His eyes flicked to me and my stomach clenched. 'There's something up... but what?'  Ray then looked to Thoma, Lani, and the other kids, laying a gentle hand on Lani's head."If that time does come, make a choice that you yourselves won't regret."

"Even if it's you agreeing with Norman." Emma announced with a determined expression.

Gilda frowned. "Dummies. I don't want to hear 'If that time does come.' Make sure you live and come back. Even if it's a lie, promise me." She gripped Emma's hands, a worried expression on her face.

"I won't lie, but I will promise you." Emma raised her hand in a pinky-swear- something I'd taught her about a little while ago. "No matter what happens , I'll make it back safely. I'll be back." She unwrapped her pinky from Gilda's with a determined look upon her face.

"Got it!" All the children said with a smile.

"Leave the house-sitting to us." Lucas the mom reassured.

"You brats don't have to worry," Yuugo continued with a sigh, waving his hand dismissively.. "So get a move on!"

Emma, Ray, and I gave everyone a smile. "Yeah!" Emma and I exclaimed determinedly.

'Time to go f*ck up the timeline further!'
