Before, I already had bodyguards but I can dismiss them off quite easily.

Also, my driver was a trained bodyguard himself but I just called him up whenever I wanted to be picked up or dropped off somewhere.

But now...

Kenneth Yu really doubled the bodyguards. I actually do not mind it but I feel kind of awkward when they're guarding while I'm with Lennox.

It feels quite uncomfortable.

They might also report to Millen Yu's family and I don't know how to explain it...

I never thought of it before, if I were to tell Millen's family about my relationship with Lennox. Besides, is there really a need to?

Today, Lennox accompanied me to go shopping. I was finding a gift to give to Zaynah, since it was going to be her birthday soon.

It was a bit harder now to dismiss the bodyguards but they compromised when I told them that they can put a tracker on my phone. Also, they can guard me but they have to be far away enough to the point where I cannot see their presence.

I guess, it also helps that Millen's arrogant personality before had instilled wariness in all the servants that her family had. Before, she would also not like guards following her since she would always attend raves, parties and go clubbing.

But so far, I did not cause much trouble, right? My usual routes would only be the university, condo, city hall, main mansion and wherever Lennox is. In fact, in the city hall, there is a police station next to it and there are also several guards guarding the city hall itself.

I also do not feel the need to fret since Lennox is with me right now. With him, I feel quite safe already.

Even though I am older, it is my sister who is more knowledgeable about fashion and beauty trends. She would always style me up, put make-up on me and so on.

Although I was very particular of taking good care of my physical appearance as well, I was not a person who followed trends. I do everything in my own pace. Besides, aside from hospital duties, I also had several researches that I worked on.

I did not have much free time at all.

Zaynah, on the other hand, was more carefree and made effort to keep up with trends.

After roaming around for a long time in the plaza where high-class boutiques are located, I ended up choosing a bag as a gift for her.

It was a limited edition bag from one of her favourite brands. I just hope that she doesn't have this yet.

When I finally chose a gift, Lennox left me for a bit to get his car so I didn't have to walk all the way to the parking lot.

After I got out of the boutique, I immediately recognised Lennox's car that was parked in front.

However, just when I was about to walk to his car, I felt someone suddenly grab my wrist.

Instinctively, I turned around to see who is senseless enough to do that. But when I saw who it is, my eyes widened for a bit before I finally relaxed.

"Millen! It's been so long!" the shameless person remarked.

It was Xavier Ayala, one of Millen's guy friends. Truthfully, it has been a long time since I last saw him. Probably when I finished Millen's undergraduate course?

"Hmm.. yeah. You surprised me." I said, getting my hand out of his strong grip.

Xavier let out an awkward laugh and I smiled a bit at him, in a hurry to go away. After all, Lennox was already parked in front and he's waiting for me...

But instead of escaping, Xavier suddenly hugged me! I didn't even hug him back because I was too stunned. Besides, I was also holding a shopping bag.

I sighed in relief when he finally let go of me.

"You don't even respond to my texts anymore. We should catch up, you know. Are you free now? I know this place that you'll like." he said in an enthusiastic voice.

Right, if it was before when Lennox confessed, I was actually quite bored sometimes so I would reply to Xavier and other guy friends that Millen had. I even enjoyed talking to Kyle Diaz for a short time but now, he does not even message at all.

If things weren't progressing so well with Lennox now, I probably would've had the courtesy to reply to his texts but now, I really don't have the energy anymore.

I can't be bothered, especially when I talk and see Lennox much more now.

"Sorry, I can't. I also need to hurry to my next appointment so if you excuse me, Xav." I replied in a low voice.

I waved at him and walked off, not even waiting for what he was about to say.

I opened the front door on Lennox's car immediately and once I got inside, I sighed in relief once again.

After I put my seatbelt on, Lennox didn't even say a word as he started the engine.

I looked at his disgruntled expression while driving, with his jaw clenched and eyebrows furrowed.

Ah, it's because of that scene earlier? Pfft.

I only rolled my eyes at his expression as he continued to be quiet. The whole atmosphere was dead silent.

It was that way until we reached the underground parking that was located in my condo.

"Are you jealous or something? Stop sulking like a child. Tss." I said first, breaking the silence.

He didn't even look at me as he spoke in a displeased voice.

"That guy looked like he was interested in you. It's annoying." he said with no filter.

I laughed at his silly answer, which made his jaw clench even more.

"We've been friends for so long and I was never interested in him. You are the only one that I'm interested in..." I said softly.

Lennox finally looked at me, but let out a growl.

"He even had the audacity to suddenly hug you. I don't like it." he replied.

I raised my eyebrows at him and couldn't believe how childish could he be. Really? Is this the same man who can draft exceptional policies?

"That's normal. He's a friend, you know." I remarked in a slightly snobbish tone.

His gaze darkened as he looked at me but I could not care less. I continued to stare at him with unafraid eyes.

"It makes me uneasy." he said simply.

Then, before I knew it, Lennox put a soft peck on my cheeks, making me instantly flustered.

"You're mine." he murmured.

His hot tongue parted my lips and wove itself into my mouth. Our breath and saliva were instantly mixed and his lips vigorously devoured mine.

We separated for an instant then my lips were swallowed again.

My senses were overwhelmed by the intense, sweet and imploring kiss. When we separated our lips, I was already catching my breath.

"Mine. My woman. Do you understand?" he whispered in a husky tone.

Lennox started to trail his kisses down my neckline.

In an instant, the feeling of his wet, soft kisses on my body made the insides of my leg feel tingly and strangely hot.

Ah...

My heart seems to be getting weaker. How could I be so moved just by something childish like this?

I feel like this uneasiness stirring inside me is about to burst open.

The walls are crumbling... the locks that I painstakingly put around my heart, are being unlocked one by one.
