Ryzen POV

For some time, I decided to quietly like Lennox's posts. I decided not to message him that much since it is obvious that he is busy with campaigning and advocating for his platform. I feel like I'm getting to know him slowly too by seeing his daily updates everyday on his Instagram.

Aside from my personal resolve, Katrina Yu kind of said something about my attendance at Lennox's campaign last time. She never had any say about the things I did before so just to be safe, I decided to lay low for a while. I also refuse to look desperate and crazy, to the point where I'd attend his campaigns all the time.

Besides, when I attended his campaign last time, it wasn't even that much of an opportunity to get closer to him.

"Darling, my friends told me that they saw an article that included you among those supporting Lennox Zevallos for his candidacy. Is this true?" Katrina Yu asked.

Thinking that it wasn't anything significant, I answered without thinking.

"Yes. I attended his campaign because I thought he was quite cool when he dined with us before. I honestly hope he'll win."

Katrina Yu looked at me silently with a concerned expression before speaking. "I'm always supportive of whatever you do, darling. But don't get too political, okay?"

I couldn't help but frown my brows, confused. I know that Katrina Yu is only concerned but I don't think there's anything bad with Lennox. Also, what's wrogn with having a political stand?

"But, I think Lennox Zevallos is a good person." I tried to defend him.

Katrina Yu gave me a small smile as she nodded her head a bit, agreeing.

"I know. But just be careful, okay? We shouldn't concern ourselves in trivial things like politics."

All my life before as Ryzen Ferrada, my sole focus have always been medicine. But currently, as I live my life as Millen Yu, I've come to realise that politics and the business world are very complex fields. There's a lot of things to consider and I feel like there's a bigger picture out there...

As I waste my free time by scrolling mindlessly on social media, I stumbled upon a popular post.

It was a 20 minute interview of Lennox Zevallos with a prominent news reporter. Without having any other thoughts, I clicked on the video straight away and watched it.

"How do you honestly feel about running against Jack Padilla?" the interviewer asked in a stoic manner.

Lennox answered in confidence, "To be frank, his way of governing right now is not doing La Coron City any better. I can say that from my experience as a councillor. Although I may have filed bills that would benefit the city, that alone could not help everyone who is suffering. La Coron City is seen as a developed city but in reality, everyone only sees a glimpse of it. They don't see the other side of the city, which includes abandoned infrastructures and people living in poverty. It's really far from a progressive and stable city like how it is portrayed. I guess, that's precisely my main drive - why I decided to run against a popular scion from a political dynasty. I want to be able to show that with my integrity and platforms, there's hope for La Coron City."

The interviewer looked at him, a bit impressed. However, she did not hesitate to proceed with her next question.

"Then, do you think you get your confidence from being part of the famous Zevallos family?"

Just like before, Lennox answered straight away without even blinking, "Of course, I am happy that I am part of the Zevallos family and in some way or another, it helped people to recognise me easily. As much as being part of my family gives me confidence, I think what really matters is my purpose. I want to help people in the basis of a larger platform. I want to be able to innovate policies and maintain strong governance that would benefit my constituents."

The interviewer quickly came up again with a question, "How did your parents feel about you running as a public servant? Do you have any plans on being a lawyer like them?"

Lennox answered sheepishly, "My parents were scared for me when I first told them about my resolve. But eventually, they gave all their support to me. I'm really lucky to have their support. Aside from that, I look up to them so I do have the desire to pursue law like them. I'm actually thinking if I should apply to UP Law soon."

I paused the video there for a second because I felt relieved.

Yeay! He's still thinking of going to UP Law, so more chances of seeing him! More opportunities!

As I watched the rest of the video, he just kept on talking about his platforms and resolves for his city.

Since the election day is near, it is timely that his interview video is getting viral. As of the moment, it already surpassed a million views.

If I'm basing it on social media, he surely have more supporters than other politicians. I don't even know if his competitor have an active social media at all. Also, if I base it from the campaigns he's doing, there's a lot of common people who support him.

Just based from all those factors, I am pretty sure that he would surely win this election.

And, I was right.

When the results of the elections came out, Lennox Nico Zevallos won by a landslide against his opponent. Precisely, he is the newly-elected mayor of La Coron City.
