Chapter 386 - She Had a Feeling that Liang AnQi Would Go Look for Jiang Dexian Again (1)

Kong Shuang had been traumatized by the fact that she was a third person in a relationship when she was young.

Ever since she had a daughter, she had placed all of her focus on her daughter. She had a few romantic relationships in the past but none of them lasted. She definitely did not have a new boyfriend in the last two years.

The female student was taken aback a little and said what was on her mind reflexively. "Don't you have a boyfriend that you are about to marry?"

Kong Shuang frowned. "No, there is no such thing."

Kong Shuang quickly figured out that this girl was AnQi's schoolmate so if she thought that she had a boyfriend, she must have found that out from AnQi. But why would AnQi say such a thing?

Her heart sank but she did not let it show on her. Frowning a little, she appeared to be very bothered. "You are a friend of AnQi, right? She had grown apart from me recently and she wouldn't tell me anything when I asked. You are her age and I trust that she is more willing to share with you."

"As a mother, I very much would like to know what is on my child's mind and what has happened to her."

Being able to have a player like Liang Hua fall in love with her, Kong Shuang was surely up there in looks. And, having played the piano since she was a child, she had a natural elegant temperament. Even at 40 something, she had maintained herself very well and was still a very elegant and attractive woman.

The female student was someone who valued looks a lot and the scale in her mind started to tip. That and seeing how concerned Kong Shuang was for her daughter, she was certain that there had been some misunderstandings between the two of them.

As such, she spilled all the beans on what Liang AnQi had griped about in the past.

Like how Liang AnQi was distressed by the fact that her father only loved her brother and sister and that she was very hurt by it.

Or how Liang AnQi was sad that her mother had ignored her since she had got herself a boyfriend.

And that she started a part-time job because she needed living expenses and did poorly on her examinations because of that and needed to take makeup examinations next semester.

Kong Shuang was about to pass out from what she was hearing. She had only believed in 30% or so of what was in the email but now she believed in it 70%.

Her docile daughter would not have lied left and right and purposefully smeared others behind their back. The thought that some spirit coming out of nowhere had taken over her body brought a lot of hatred to her.

Nevertheless, as angry as she was, the spirit was using her daughter's body. She must tread carefully so as not to ruin her daughter's reputation.

She took a deep breath and her voice sounded weak. "AnQi had misunderstood me. I had already broken up with that man."

"Oh, I see."

The girl, seeing how AnQi's mother had traveled thousands of miles to look for her daughter in China, felt that she cared a lot about her daughter and, as such, brought Kong Shuang with her into the dormitory building.

Liang AnQi, on the other hand, was just about to start her streaming. She smiled happily as she looked at the donations that she had received from her viewers from the administrative screen. She turned and said, "C'mon in. The door's not locked." when she heard the knocking.

She thought the student who was just there had returned. The living arrangements for the exchange students were impeccable and each of them had their own individual rooms. That had allowed her some private space.

When she looked up and saw the fragile woman standing by the door, Liang AnQi's eyes widened. She mumbled, "Mom, how come you are here?"

She looked uneasy. She never would have imagined that the original owner's real mother would return to China. She returned to China for multiple reasons: partly because she was not used to living overseas, partly because she wanted to meet Jiang DeXian and partly because she needed to be away from Kong Shuang.

After all, Kong Shuang and the original owner were close and she would for sure notice that something was off if Liang AnQi was to spend too much time around her.

The girl who brought Kong Shuang over said, "If there is a misunderstanding between the two of you, now is the time to clear things up. I'm taking off now."

Liang AnQi's face changed colors a little. She recalled everything that she had made up in the past and regretted. She worried that Kong Shuang would find out about them.

Kong Shuang thanked the student then turned and looked quietly at Liang AnQi.

Liang AnQi's guilty conscience grew when she was looked at by Kong Shuang. "Mom..." She pouted and said, "I... I didn't say all those on purpose. I was being ostracized when I first arrived in China. They were envious that I am from a wealthy family so I had to make up some pitiful stories to make them feel better. That way they would stop bullying me."

Kong Shuang would have believed in every word that she said in the past but now... after seeing how passionate that girl was, Kong Shuang didn't believe in one word coming out of Liang AnQi.

The female student cared a lot about AnQi. In fact, worried that there had been misunderstandings between the mother and daughter, she had put in a lot of good words for Liang AnQi on their way to Liang AnQi's room.

Kong Shuang was more and more certain that the person standing in front of her was not her daughter! Her daughter would never smear another for the sake of pawning off responsibilities.

She asked lightly, "Are you really my daughter?"

A look of nervousness flashed past Liang AnQi's face. Her eyes rolled round and she tightened her fists. She forced a smile onto herself and said, "What are you talking about, Mom? Do you not love me any more and want to have a different daughter?" She turned the table around with an aggrieved look.

Seeing the expressions on Liang AnQi, Kong Shuang already had the answer that she was looking for. She lowered her eyes and said, "Oh, you child. Your personality had changed so much since you had regained consciousness and that made me worried. You can always tell me if you feel aggrieved. You shouldn't keep everything bottled up. We are mother and daughter. I will always have your best interest in mind."

Kong Shuang knew that this was not the time to bring everything into the open. She needed to calm the other person while she tried to locate her own daughter!

"Do you remember when you were a child and insisted on having mangoes when you were running a fever? All the grocery stores were closed at the time and Mom drove to a friend's house to bring back some mangoes. You only had one bite and didn't want them anymore. I was so mad then."

AnQi was allergic to mangoes and would never have them. Kong Shuang only said that to test her.

Liang AnQi felt a burden being lifted off of her shoulders when she heard that. Her looks mellowed out. "I knew Mom always loved me the most." She had no recollection of the incident that Kong Shuang had described. She possessed the original owner's memory but she needed to try hard whenever she needed to access them.

She walked in front of Kong Shuang, put her arms around hers and smiled at her coquettishly.

Kong Shuang gave her a doting look but her eyes were cold.

She was reluctant to have anything else to do with the Liang family but, for the sake of getting her daughter back, she had no choice but to have the Liang family look for a grand master. She must get her precious daughter back.

Her lips curved and she said to AnQi. "You've mentioned that your aunty has been very nice to you since your return. Mom needs to go and thank her in person."

Liang AnQi's look stiffened – she hadn't contacted her aunty for a while now. But it wouldn't hurt to have her mother reached out to her first. The original owner's mother had a very mild temperament and was well liked by others.

She handed Liang Feng's number to Kong Shuang.

Kong Shuang jotted it down and planned to reach out to Liang Feng for help when the time came.

Chapter 388 - She Had a Feeling that Liang AnQi Would Go Look for Jiang Dexian Again (3)

Fang JunRong was quite surprised when she received the call from Liang Feng. She had no idea why Liang Feng wanted to meet with her out of the blue but she agreed to it nonetheless.

They were set to meet at a hotel under Liang Feng's name.

"Can I call you JunRong?" said Liang Feng.

Fang JunRong nodded, "What's the matter?"

Liang Feng had always given her the impression of being a very decisive person but she now looked hesitant in front of her for a change.

"Do you have any extra jadeite, JunRong? Something similar to what you have given to Old Mr. Geng's grandson." Liang Feng then added, "Money is not a problem. I can buy it from you."

Kong Shuang had sought her out two days ago and asked for her help. Liang Feng wasn't a fan of mistresses but Kong Shuang was different. It was her brother who hid the fact that he was married and tricked the innocent Kong Shuang. Liang Feng could not possibly place the blame on her. In addition, Kong Shuang had been staying overseas with her daughter all these years and never reached out to the Liang family. She had never tried to stir up anything.

That was the reason she agreed to meet with Kong Shuang. Lo and behold, she learned about her niece's body being taken over by another spirit from Kong Shuang. Liang Feng didn't feel that Kong Shuang would need to lie about such a thing. What kind of mother would not recognize her own daughter? Liang Feng spent a couple of days looking into it and quickly found out about the abnormalities of AnQi.

Not only did she act like a completely different person after she had fallen into the water, even her handwriting was different than it was in the past.

Liang AnQi was, after all, her niece and, from what she had read so far, had been a nice and docile child in the past and was completely different from how she was right now.

Liang Feng made up some sort of a reason, brought Liang AnQi to her place and kept her there. She also reached out to a few grand masters that she knew and to see if they had any ideas.

One of the grand masters said that he could perform a ritual but he would also need a specific tool. In addition, this tool needed to be natural. Perhaps something similar to the jade that Geng Yuan's grandson normally wore on him. Wearing something like that would be helpful.

Liang Feng had no shortage of money but looking for something like that was no easy feat. She had no choice but to hit up Fang JunRong to see if she had something like that.

Fang JunRong had a bunch of those. She had stored all of the gems that she had obtained from raw stones in her dimension so they could be immersed in mystical qi. Liang Feng gave her a good impression but Fang JunRong didn't want to give the impression that she possessed a lot of gems of the sort.

"I have a few but not a whole lot left anymore."

"I will be honest with you. I want to buy this to save my niece. She had been possessed. The grand master that I looked for said I will need something similar to that." Liang Feng brought it up subtly.

Fang JunRong thought about Liang AnQi immediately. She had let her true colors show after all.

She nodded. "Okay. I will part with it since it's for saving another person."

"Thank you." Liang Feng was very appreciative of it but she didn't want to take advantage of Fang JunRong either. She brought up joint ventures with Fang JunRong and planned to give her a bigger share of the profit as a way to show her appreciation. The two had always been compatible and they even reached a new level after they had agreed on their joint ventures.

Saving someone was more important and Fang JunRong planned to pick a piece of her gem for Liang Feng when she reached home that day. Even though she had them stored in her dimension, she couldn't possibly just pull them out in public. She told Liang Feng that she had it at home.
