Chapter 182 - Why is It that He Always Likes to Speak only Half a Sentence (1)

"Well, what is your answer?"

Sitting in front of Jiang DeXian, as much Zhang ZhiYang tried to make himself seem more personable, but his temperament of feeling he was above him Jiang DeXian shone through him nonetheless.

Hidden in his eyes were some distaste and contempt. A man like Jiang DeXian, who was good at nothing except for his good looks, was somehow favored by Fang JunRong and brought him with her wherever she went. Thinking how he himself had been more and more marginalized in his clan, his irritation worsened.

Had he known Fang JunRong would be so mighty, he should have worked with her long time ago. At the very minimum he would not have ended up where he was today.

Lifting his head and seeing Jiang DeXian typing away on his phone, Zhang ZhiYang was even more angry. A heartthrob (?) making a living with nothing but his look dared to ignore him?

Jiang DeXian shook his head and said casually, "5 million yuan is not enough. Add another zero."

Zhang ZhiYang busted out laughing from anger. Where did he get his confidence from? Add a zero? Was he insane?

His look cold and his tone very dangerous, "You sure you will be around long enough to spend all that money? Do you really feel that you are worth 50 million?" Zhang ZhiYang has money, that was not a problem. He just didn't wan to drop 50 million on something minor like this. Now, if he could exchange 50 million yuan for the opportunity to work with Fang JunRong, that was a different story.

Jiang DeXian said nonchalantly. "There's where you have it wrong. The question isn't whether I am worth 50 million yuan. The question is whether Fang JunRong is worth 50 million yuan to you. If you don't even want to pay 50 million yuan for the opportunity to purse her, then I am questioning your sincerity on this."

"I heard that Young Master Zhang had spent 500 million in the past to place his adopted sister into a production cast before."

Zhang ZhiYang's face changed colors. What people had heard about was that he had spent an astronomical amount on his adopted sister and there had been many rumors about a relationship between the two of them. What the public didn't know was that she was Director Ji's daughter out of the wedlock. He wanted to help her kickstart her career but also not want his wife to find out. That's why he ended up doing it through Zhang ZhiYang.

His adopted sister was doing very well right now. Most people thought it was because he had been backing her with his money. That was far from the truth. Most of that was accomplished from Director Ji's connections.

He couldn't possibly share that here and now so he could only feel unjust for himself.

He had sort of a baby face and looked young for his age. When he had a long face, though, he did have an authoritative look on him that was normally missing. Unfortunately, that was not going to work with Jiang DeXian, who was just pouring himself another cup of tea relaxingly.

"Want some tea?" He even asked politely.

The hell with the tea!

Fine! He'd let him have it this time! It was very unfortunate that Jiang DeXian's contract with the company had ended. He had plenty of other ideas to force him into complying otherwise.

He imagined all sorts of terrible things that he could do to Jiang DeXian after Fang JunRong had dumped him and was finally able to calm himself down. Coldly, he said, "50 million. I hope you can keep your promise."

He did not drop such an astronomic amount just to have Jiang DeXian leave Fang JunRong's side. Whether Jiang DeXian was to leave Fang JunRong or not, it would not prevent him from making his next move.

Jiang DeXian gave him a dubious look. Was this guy a complete fool? Even the dumbest television show that he was in did not have a story arc like this. At the most the wealthy madam would pull out a check and asked the female lead to leave her son for 1 million yuan."

Who would pay their romantic rival? Not to mention that this suitor didn't even look all that hopeful.

Well, free money was free money. He wasn't going to turn that down. More money for him to invest into the stock market.

Chapter 183 - Why is It that He Always Likes to Speak only Half a Sentence (2)

Fang JunRong was mostly joking when she said to have him add another zero. She was quite surprised that Zhang ZhiYang really agreed to that amount. Did he have more money than he knew what to do with?

Looking at Jiang DeXian standing in front of her, she pondered for a little bit and said, "Well, then you might as well accept it as a bonus."

50 million yuan was not a small amount but with her current asset, she didn't need to split it with Jiang DeXian. As much as Jiang DeXian didn't care about it, but his reputation wasn't exactly great right now. Many saw him as a boytoy for a rich woman. So this would be a good bonus for him.

"Let's see what are his next moves," she said.

If Zhang ZhiYang had spent so much money, he would for sure has other plans in mind.

Fang JunRong learned of Zhang ZhiYang's intention shortly. She had originally thought that Zhang ZhiYang would make a move against Jiang DeXian but, instead, he made a move in a different direction.

Uncle Zhang called her up directly and asked if she was interested in working with Zhang ZhiYang.

Fang JunRong paused for a little and asked, "What have you heard about me?"

"I've heard that you have already started working with Zhang ZhiYang and that Jiang DeXian is your go-between."

Fang JunRong chuckled, so that was what Zhang ZhiYang was trying to do. After all, Jiang DeXian had, indeed, accepted 50 million yuan. Nobody would believe that Zhang ZhiYang spent that kind of money just to get rid of a romantic rival. And, to many, the only way that Jiang DeXian would even dare to accept such an astronomical amount was because he was by Fang JunRong.

Smart people enjoyed filling in the blanks. With the filling, all of a sudden Zhang ZhiYang seemed to be much more involved with Fang JunRong than he really was. As such, that would also achieve the result of alienating her from Zhang ZhiSu's branch.

She didn't want to divulge too much over the phone so she decided to set up a meeting with Uncle Zhang. She had noticed before that, within the Zhangs, Uncle Zhang was on the same team as Zhang ZhiSu.

She was not surprised as all when she saw Zhang ZhiSu showing up as well. She said jokingly, "I felt that I had somewhat somehow been dragged into your family matters. I have for sure gotten the short end of the stick here."

Zhang ZhiSu gave her a look and said, "What say we compensation you with 20% of Zhang ZhiYang's asset when the time comes?"

Fang JunRong only just mentioned it. The fact that Zhang ZhiSu had offered her a compensation was surprising. It looked like he was already fed up by Zhang ZhiSu's little stunts. No, that couldn't be it. Just the little stunts along would not make him decide on such a drastic move. They belonged to the same family after all.

Suddenly, she seemed to have thought of something. "He was the cause of your earlier injury?"

Zhang ZhiSu picked up his tea cup. He seemed to not care about alcohol but did gravitate toward tea a lot. Even at banquets, he would only drink tea.

A hint of tea fragrance permeated the room and it had a calming property to them.

Zhang ZhiSu said, "I did not expect that from him either."

Zhang ZhiSu thought he had already eliminated all the spies around him but Zhang ZhiYang reacted quickly as well. Better yet, he was prepared to be caught and immediately placed the blame on someone in a side branch. In the eyes of an outsider, someone from the side branch was disgruntled with the new head of the clan and ambitiously wanted to replace him.

All of Zhang ZhiYang's stunt had, doubtless, rubbed Zhang ZhiSu the wrong way.

"I have only recently found this out. Zhang Bi's family had formed an alliance with him already. While Zhang Bi was treating my leg wound, he was also secretly giving me medications that would agitate me."

Even if he was easily agitated during that period of time, he would only think that it was caused by his leg injury. Luckily, Fang JunRong did not just send him the White Jade Cream, she even sent the Detoxification Pills along with it.

Chapter 184 - Why is It that He Always Likes to Speak only Half a Sentence (3)

Fang JunRong wasn't s surprised by that at all.

"They are probably gunning at you because you hold both the Detoxification Pills and White Jade Cream. Those are the items that can truly threaten Zhang Bi's family." Especially the White Jade Cream. Who would still pay tens of thousands of yuan for a bottle of medicine from the Zhang's when they could just buy the White Jade Cream?

Fang JunRong had an odd look on her. "Do they not know that I have already donated the formula for the two medications?"

That being said, she did have in her possession medications made from herbs from the dimension. They were certainly more effective than the ones made in the real life. After all, the dimension was filled with mystical air and the herbs grew in there were much more potent.

"They didn't know that. They thought I am the one who insisted on give you a spot."

Fang JunRong suddenly realized that Zhang ZhiYang didn't stand a chance at all. A part of the White Jade Cream had already been distributed and was in use already and Zhang ZhiYang had absolutely no idea about it. That was to stay that as long as Zhang ZhiSu wanted, he could make sure that Zhang ZhiYang was blind and deaf.

She asked point blank, "What do you want me to do?"

"Play it by the ear. I have faith in you," said Zhang ZhiSu.

Fang JunRong had set up her ex-husband that he was unable to defend himself in public and still maintain her reputation as the white lotus. That was a testimony to her intelligence and strategy. It was always easy to work with someone who was smart.

"I am going to host a few other banquets in the time to come. And I will not invite you to those banquets."

Fang JunRong got it immediately: He wanted to give the illusion that the two of them had a fallout. Based on their personalities, even if there was a fallout between them, they would never made their differences public. That was easy. She could do that!

Zhang ZhiSu told her one more thing. That the two medications would be made available to the pubic by March of next year.

Fang JunRong cared more about that than the battle within the Zhang's.

"Have you decided on your price point yet?" The point of her donating the formula would be moot if the price point was set too high.

"Detoxification Pills is set to around 500 yuan a bottle and White Jade Cream would be slightly expensive at around 800 yuan."

Fang JunRong relaxed her look. Those price points were still acceptable to her.

She was about to take off after his conversation with Zhang ZhiSu when he suddenly added, "Oh right, there is one more thing."

Fang JunRong: Why is it that he always likes to speak half a sentence.

"Go ahead."

Zhang ZhiSu said casually, "There had been a push from above to drive down on crimes. Wang Xiao ran right into this period of time and all those who had been helping him had given up on him. Most likely he will stay in jail for a few years longer."

He happened to find out about Wang Xiao when he was looking into something else a while back and thought he'd pass on what he had found out.

Fang JunRong had almost forgotten all about this person. Recalling everything that had happened in her previous life, her eyes warmed up.

"How long are we talking about?" She thought maybe seven years at most.

"With everything that he had done in the past? At least 20 years."

Twenty years... by the time he got out of jail, all of his lackeys would have abandoned him by then. He would be like a tiger without its claws. Wang Xiao, in his previous life, had a very wide network owing to Jiang YaGe and became a very powerful man in this area. In this life time, however, had ended up sending himself to jail when he tried to take revenge on Jiang YaGe. It was all meant to be.

Nevertheless, ever since that dream that she had, she suspected that he didn't end up all that great in the end even in her previous life.

"Great."

And she truly believed that. With someone like Wang Xiao, who had no problems with hurting others so lackadaisically, the jail was where he really belonged. Perhaps he would become a better man in his next life.
