Chapter 142 - The Cherry Blossom Pills Have Side Effects? (1)

She asked Li WangJin tentatively.

Li WangJin replied confidently, "This was a new product developed by the Zhang's. It's even better than the Beautify Pills."

Wang SiXian did not doubt him.

Li WangJin was gone in the next few days that followed busy with soliciting for investments. He was busy like a bee in front of others and had, once again, restored his once-lost high-spirited self.

He even accepted other's invitations and attended all sorts of banquets and accepted all sorts of flatteries. Truth was, he really wanted to run into Fang JunRong so he'd be able to ask her if she had regretted. Unfortunately, whether it was her not wanting to embarrassed herself in front of others or she was just being very low-key the last few days, she hasn't been going out much.

Ah well. Even though he didn't run into Fang JunRong, but his ego was still inflated under the flattery from all the others.

Time flied and a week had gone past. Through all sorts of logistics, all of the Cherry Blossom Pills had reached the hands of the customers.

After being happy for an entire week, Li WangJin suddenly remember his little lab rat Wang SiXian and he returned home to check on her.

He asked her point blank, "How's the effect of the Cherry Blossom Pills?"

A hint of embarrassment flashed past Wang SiXian's face. "The effect was so-so, perhaps because I just started on it?"

Her skin did become lighter in color in the first couple of days after she had started taking the pills but then they had returned to their original shade. As for its effectiveness on scar removal, she could only dream about them. She was, after all, someone who had first-hand experience of Beautify Pills' effectiveness so she could tell the drastic difference between the two products. But she couldn't possibly say that in front of Li WangJin. He was a prideful person and hated anyone who remotely suggested that Fang JunRong was better than him.

Li WangJin studied her for a little bit and said, "I felt that your skin tone is lighter than before."

Wang SiXian wanted to tell him that those were from the foundation that she had applied. She applied layers of them every day, only because Li WangJin liked women with lighter skin.

Her silence gave him a bad feeling. "Perhaps they aren't as effective as they should be because you have taken the Beautify Pills previously." Yup. That must be it!

"You are right," said Wang SiXian gently.

She had already made up her mind that she'd go and buy some Beautify Pills behind his back. This Cherry Blossom Pills had no effects whatsoever. In fact, they had upset her stomach these last few days.

The very next second, there was an embarrassed POOF noise and, along with it, a terrible smell that could make one lose consciousness.

Wang SiXian felt that her face was burning. She hadn't expected she'd fart at this very moment.

Li WangJin's face darkened immediately. He covered up his nose with his hand. The smell was so bad that he could puke out his lunch. How was this stench so awful?

Wang SiXian only wish that she could dug a hold on the ground and hide herself. She could no longer maintain the look on her. "I'll return to my room now."

Then she left in distress.

Li WangJin walked over to the patio for some fresh air. He felt that the stench was still lingering on him. The throbbing of the heart was a thing of the past. The only feeling he had left for her was impatience.

He never would have guessed that this was just the beginning.

Over dinner, Wang SiXian farted non-stopped. Sitting across from her, Li WangJin was thoroughly disgusted. What was a wonderful candle-light dinner was forced to come to an end.

He wasn't home at night a lot and this time when he was home, not only did him not enjoyed any tenderness, he was welcomed with a series of stinky farts instead. Finally, he had enough. He slammed down the chopsticks and said, "How much more fart do you have? If you have an upset stomach, you should go see a doctor."

He couldn't stick around anymore.

Pinching his nose, Li WangJin was livid. "Can't you just not eat all kinds of random stuff for a change?"

Wang SiXian bit her lip. This was not what she had wanted either. Li WangJin didn't come home very often and the one time that he was home, this happened. She worried that her image in his mind was already all ruined and that he'd already think of her poorly even after she face has recovered.

And it was not even her fault at all.

Wang SiXian had withstood a lot of pressure as of late and now, seeing the undeniable disgust on Li WangJin, she blurted out, "All I had recently was fruits, just like before. That and the Cherry Blossom Pills that you've brought me.

"Those Cherry Blossom Pills were not effective at all. I think the Zhang's had played you."

She choked back her tears.

Li WangJin felt that he had been punched on his face. He had a blank look on him. "You said this was caused by the Cherry Blossom Pills?"

"Yes." Wang SiXian repeated herself. "I can't think of any other reasons."

"That's impossible. It was the same formula. In fact, what I've brought you was even better."

Exactly! That must be it! It couldn't possibly by the Cherry Blossom Pills!

He stood up and fanned with his hand to dissipate some of the smell around him. Looking at Wang SiXian with slight disgust, he turned and left.

Hearing the door closed, tears streamed down Wang SiXian's face.

Her skin had, indeed, became a shade paler when she first started on the Cherry Blossom Pills and that had made her very happy. But that did not last very long. After she had finished a box, not only was the effect not as good as expected, the side effects had also surfaced.

She started farting. And it was those that you could smell from a mile away. And several times a day.

Once, she was inside the room with the boy that she was fond of and the two of them were chatting about a soccer game that they had watched together recently. The atmosphere was perfect and, right when the two were about to move onto the next step, the stinky fart ended it all.

Xu YuQi pretty much stayed inside of her dormitory room when she didn't have classes. That and she needed to keep the windows open so the smell would dissipate.

After one more fart, Yang MeiHua finally couldn't stand it anymore. "What did you eat recently that's making you fart nonstop? Do you want to go see a doctor?"

There were four of them inside of this dormitory room but the other two girls were usually gone to tutoring sessions or club activities. Yang MeiHua and Xu YuQi were the two that spent the most time in the room.

Xu YuQi felt very unjust as well. "Nothing. I have been drinking porridges for days now."

She was not from a wealthy family. As much as the Cherry Blossom Pills were much cheaper than the Beautify Pills, but after purchasing two boxes, she'd still need to tighten her belt for a while. Which was why she had only been having porridge, pickled vegetables, and steamed buns for meals. Her situation was quite dire.

Something occurred to her all of a sudden and she turned pale. Stuttering, she said, "I... I bought two boxes of the Cherry Blossom Pills and I had just finished one box."
