It was a week then since XuWei went to Xiao bai's place and told him about the student union's scheme. He's not more surprise, knowing zhou zhineng's personality. So they just laughed it off a little bit and started to talk things out seriously.

Xiao Bai wanted to let XuWei choose a song but XuWei insisted really hard that Xiao Bai should do it. Xiao Bai was reluctant, of course, since he hardly listen to traditional music, and if even though he listened to some, he couldn't exactly memorize the lines or the notes. He don't have a choice but to pick a song that he was familiar with, and although it may be a modern song it still carries the traditional tone and instrument.

Thinking of this criteria he remembered the ancient dramas back then. He remembers that many of them have a very traditional sound tracks to match the theme. Then finally a very famous song appeared on his head.

He turned his head to XuWei then asked, "could you play a flute?"

XuWei, "of course."

Xiao Bai, "what about a guqin?"

XuWei, "I can."

Hearing this, Xiao Bai immediately ran off to his room and picked his guqin up and brought it outside to where they were talking. He plans to first let XuWei hear it then have him decide if he wants to play a flute or guqin.

It was really not a problem if XuWei choose to play the guqin, the chords of this song is relatively easy especially if you excel in playing other instruments like Xiao Bai does.

Although he hates to admit it but he learned the chords of the chinese bamboo flute from his former bestfriend. She also learns traditional music, and they met by chance when Xiao Bai was forced by his teacher to learn the guqin. Well since flutes and qins are quite the perfect combo of harmonies they often practice together and eventually became close.

She was also there when Xiao Bai left his home and all. It would be a lie if xiao Bai says that he was not at least a bit hurt about her betraying him. And this song that he let XuWei listen to was the song that Xiao Bai practiced with flute when he memorized the chords since it was a hot song that time.

Going back, he finished the song and waited for xuwei's reaction.

Xuwei, "it's good. It's quite refreshing in the ears."

Xiao Bai, "So do you want to play it with a guqin or flute?"

XuWei, " I don't really know. But I really want to see you playing the flute."

Xiao Bai, "Why?"

XuWei, "Just because." Then let out a little laugh.

Xiao Bai, "I didn't have any flute with me yet. Maybe i'll tell Yifan to buy one tomorrow, so now i'll just teach you."

XuWei, "just play it one more time and  i'm okay to go."

Xiao Bai really did what he was said and after he's done he let XuWei use his guqin and watched XuWei play perfectly as if he was practising it for a whole month! They went on for about 2 more hours and the sun is setting already, the horizons appearing a little orange.

XuWei decided to go home, "I'm going home now. I'll come by again after school. By the way, you don't need to buy the flute, i'll gift you one."

Xiao Bai, "Oh really?! Thanks! Can't wait to see it."

XuWei smiled and left.

After that they practiced at Xiao bai's place for the remaining days until the day of the performance.

Word has already spread about it. It will be a evening show, meaning the event will start after school ends. They can either just stay in the school and eat dinner at the canteen or go home first and just come back after that.

Of course many girls chose to went home and fix themselves up to be more prettier than ever. Who wouldn't try to look better when there's so many handsome men and present. Except from XuWei and Xiao Bai, other first years like mingxue, Ruo Lan, dingwu and others are also performing. The student union member's also prepared as act. They were really serious about raising funds. Although the academy is rich, it never hurts to have more in case of emergency especially the heavenly camp is approaching near.

Finally the day ended. Xiao Bai and his group went to their venue to meet up with the committees and talk about the last minute preparations.

"Hurry up and wear this!" Yang lianhua hurriedly shove them two sets of clothes for each of them. Xiao Bai could only laugh at her being all excited while it was obviously still very early.

President zhuo joined them, "Huahua, calm down." He said with a lite laugh.

Yang lianhua felt that she was being bullied by this two and pouted pitifully. Xiao Bai took the clothes and said, "We'll change now. It's better to prepare a little early to avoid mishaps later."

He then pulled XuWei into the dressing room and gave him his set of clothes. This two clothes are custom made. Xiao Bai and lianhua had a serious talk about what he wants their clothes to be like and lianhua immediately went to a seamstress to make them.

Of course, inside the dressing room, there are many screens that appear like a cubicle so many persons can change at once without getting peeked at. And this made XuWei was disappointed since he was anticipating this earlier.

They both entered one of cubicles and immediately changed. The first one to finish is XuWei, Xiao Bai is still clumsy with this clothes as a modern man who only wears two layers.

XuWei examined his clothes. It was a set of white robes with exquisite stitches of little clouds at the hems, a white belt clasp with a jade, and a little blue tassle hanging from his belt. XuWei's favorite color was red, other was almost what he wears everyday. He felt that this doesn't compliments his temperament at all. He can't help but fell that Xiao Bai should be the one wearing this instead of him.

But in truth, XuWei's noble face and manly temperament was added by the hint of coolness and aloofness that made him like an untouchable immortal.

Just when he was in deep thought, Xiao Bai also wenf out of his screen. The both of them stared at each other for a good while before Xiao Bai fakes a cough.

Xiao Bai was wearing a combination of red and black. Although he had a gentle face and temperament it actually complimented him.

Xiao bai's favorite colors are of course white and blue while xuwei's favorite colors are red and black, seeing the other suit there favorites perfectly, the feeling is so profound.

Xiao Bai cleared his throat, "You look very cool in it."

XuWei, "You too. You look a lot more different in it. But in a good way."

Xiao Bai, "yeah. I look a little bad ass in this." Then he added a laugh to lighten the atmosphere. They exchanged a little praises before coming out.

"Oh My!! You two look stunning!" Yang lianhua shouted as soon she saw them walking back.

She couldn't help but feel a sense of achievement. When she and Xiao Bai discussed this she was very confused. This two themes of light and dark of course really is a good match for this two but she was really surprised when Xiao Bai sais that he will wear the dark themed set while XuWei wears the opposite.

He said that he wants for create a theme of yin and yang. The yin and yang means that in kindness there is evil and in evil there is kindness. He wants to achieve this harmony of perfect opposites.

Xuwei will be the yang, although he was good and kind he still have that little evilness in him. He wears a very pure white robes like he belongs to some righteous sect but he is welling to break his sect's rules to protect  his loved one. His manly and aloof look will help him achieve this oppositions in his character.

Xiao Bai was the yin, in his gentle and kind face lies danger. There is a playful smirk on his mouth like always telling someone that he could end you in seconds. However inside that dangerous mask, lies a man who only wants to protect others but he didn't have the power to do so, so he went to the unorthodox path making everyone misunderstood him.

This kind of disharmony when put together will create a balance. It will create a beautiful harmony that will makes the world moving non-stop. It was messed up but surprisingly you'll found yourself that you are mesmerized by how abstract the idea is.

When yang lianhua shouted earlier it gained the attention of others. One by one they went to them and praised them how they look different wearing the clothes they don't usually wear and also said their surprise in finding that it suits them very much.

Zhineng, "This costumes are superb. Next, you'll have you hair and face done."

Xiao Bai and XuWei just nodded and went to the people they hired for the job. Along the way they also saw mingxue and the others preparing and said some words before arriving at their hair and make up artists.

Xiao Bai explained to them how he wants the hair to be styled and how their make ups should be done. The make up artists didn't show any complains and thought that it was actually a great idea. They even praised Xiao bai's proffesional insights in this field.

Xiao Bai thought, "of course I knew what styles will be perfect with it. I literally saw the actors' get up from clothes to hair and make up."

Xiao Bai pulled his hair into a pony tail and ties it with a long red ribbon. He made his face a little more whiter then he already is then darken the corner of his eyes to make it a little sinister. This made his already long and dark lashes appear more defined.  They also pit some blood red colors on his lips that made a very eye-catching contrast to his white pail skin.

He looks like some devil ready to tempt someone.

On the other hand, xuwei's skin is a little tan but with a little powder that are able to make his complexion whiter like a fine white jade. It was not the pail kind of white but a healthy looking one. They also made his eyebrows more slanted and defined like a sword which added a more cold and aloof feeling together with his cold phoenix and sharp eyes.

As for his hair, they let xuwei's long and black hair freely flow down down to his knees. They tied a little jade crown on top of his head. Of course the forehead ribbon cannot be forgotten.

He just looks like an immortal who looks down on the people roaming around in the mundane world.

The both of them was done almost at the same time. Xiao Bai was looking at his seld in his mirror and was very satisfied with it. He looks devilishly handsome? Pretty? Anyway, he look good in it.

He looked at his side only to find a XuWei who was staring at him.

XuWei was slacked mouthed the moment he saw Xiao Bai. It felt like he fell all over once again. Xiao Bai looks like someone who could be brutal and all but he looks vulnerable that he just wants to protect him from the hateful eyes of the world.

"Hey. Is there something wrong with my get up?" Xiao Bai worriedly asked.

XuWei's soul immediately went back to him, "No. It's just that, you look really awesome."

Xiao Bai, "well yeah, I tied my hair up which I usually don't. And you let your hair down which you usually dont."

The both of them laughed at how they really did get of theie comfort zones. And the results are not disappointing instead it was very good more then any words could describe it.

Xiao Bai taught him the meaning of the song they were playing so he could put the emotions into it. When he learnt it, it was a third point of view perspective but now seeing the both of them characterizing the persons on the song he couldn't help but feel the song as if he was really the character.

Seeing Xiao Bai right in front of him, he could also fell that he could defy everything just so that his person won't feel any grieviances and give him anything the world could offer.

XuWei was too attached it now that his feet involuntarily walk up to Xiao Bai. Slowly, little by little, until he was just a few centimeters away. Xiao Bai freezes up when he realized XuWei was waking up to him.

Xiao Bai felt his feet being glued on the floor, his heart almost jumping out to his chest, and butterflies swarming around in his stomach.

XuWei hugged him tightly like if he let go even a little, Xiao Bai would disappear. Xiao Bai stiffened but eventually relaxed.

"What's wrong?"

Xiao Bai said in a consoling voice while patting xuwei's back. Seeing a big and taller man strenghtlessly hugging another who was smaller than him is a very cute scene to witness.

Like how a big bunny lies it's head in the back of the little bunny as if entrusting his whole existence to the little one, as if the big bunny was dependent to the little one and not the other way around.

XuWei answered in a low voice, full of grief, "I just felt that I need to protect you from now on, so just please stay with me."

Xiao Bai was confused but he felt his heart melting in an indescribable warmth, "I'll be with you."

Hearing this XuWei held Xiao bai's shoulder and made a distance between them then quickly turned around, his back facing Xiao Bai.

"Then i'll go out first."

XuWei hurriedly said and went out. Xiao Bai giggled at his reaction which made XuWei more embarrassed, his already pink ears turned bright red in an instant.

Xiao Bai thought, "what a cute reaction."

And so Xiao Bai followed him out after having a good laugh.
