Fizah Gaffur.

"Fizah? What are you doing here?" Hamza asked as soon as he encountered Fizah in front of the door. She pushed him and came inside.

"You have forgotten me Hamza. We are best friends and you didn't even tell me that you were coming to Switzerland."

Hamza rolled his eyes at her words and closed the door. They weren't best friends but Hamza had a soft spot for her in his heart. She had always been there for him. His best friend is Irtaza.

"I am not here because of any business trips. I am here with my wife for our honeymoon." He chided sitting opposite to her. Fizah's expression changed spontaneously as soon as he said honeymoon. It was hard for her to digest that the person she loved all her life is with someone else now.

"Honeymoon? Like seriously? Are you igniting a fire in my wounded heart?" Fizah asked with knitted brows. Her heart was heavy to see him as someone else's.

"Oh shut it Fizah! Stop saying stuff which wasn't just meant to be," Hamza got up and went towards the kitchen when she followed him.

"And I think it's totally inappropriate of you to come here when I am with my wife." He poured the mango juice freshly kept in the refrigerator.

Passing it to her, he sat in front of her again.

"Inappropriate? Where is it inappropriate? I was your friend yesterday. So am I your friend today. There's no difference. Only you left me for that middle-class girl," She begins saying words and started degrading his wife.

"Middle-class girl? Your thinking is so low Fizah! Shut the hell up and get out of my house if you are gonna insult my wife," He shouted in anger. Fizah knew about how he would get angry for silly reasons.

"You can't win his heart by insulting someone who lives inside his heart," she pondered.

"Okay calm down. I won't tell you anything about your wife. It's just that I usually have my emotional breakdown now and then. I still can't seem to believe that you rejected me," Rolling her eyes, Fizah sipped the juice.

"I never rejected you. We were never meant to be Fizah. Why can't you understand that? I love my wife and I want to spend the rest of my life with her. What's wrong with that?" He asked.

"You don't want to pick up a fight, do you?" She got up and sat beside him.

"Is it me or you?"

"I am not blaming you. I am blaming that girl for coming in between us. You were fine with me but that girl came," She slowly started decreasing the distance between them. His face was on the other side. He was frustrated and when he turned towards her side. In an instant, she was so close to him that they could hear their heartbeats. He was about to stand up and stay away from her but before anything could take place, they heard a sound of a glass breaking.

Hamza snapped towards the direction of the sound to see Mehrish standing with broken pieces of glass scattered on the floor. He could see that she was shedding tears.

"I had never imagined you would stoop so low to hurt me. Is this why you brought me here to make me go through the worst nightmare? Is this why you told me to sleep?" She sobbed eyeing both of them.

No matter how much he might hurt her, he will never cheat on her. After all, for him, Mehrish is the only person he had liked for being his life partner.

"Mehrish, it's not what you're thinking. It isn't something like that. We... We.." he stuttered looking at her devastated state.

"You guys were what Hamza?" She shouted keeping her right palm in front of her lips in utter shock. Fizah began,

"Hey listen? It doesn't matter about whatsoever you imagine. Hamza is my friend before he married you. So shut-"

"Fizah leave! Get the hell out of my place now!" Hamza shouted cutting her off. She threw a glare at Mehrish before going out and shutting the door close loudly.

Hamza carefully went towards Mehrish and stood in front of her. She was looking down, weeping. Cupping her cheeks. He began,

"Look, I can never cheat on you. Try to understand that."

"With the behaviour, I have been treated by you, Do you think any girl would believe your words?" She asked with tears ready to fall into her eyes.

"Tell me Hamza why? Why did you do that to me? Why are you simply destroying my life? Did I ever hurt you? Did I ever hurt any of your close ones? Do you know that my family doesn't about your behaviour with me? They are thinking that their son-in-law is treating me with his sweet, kind and generous heart! But there is another story to it which even I don't know."

"What you saw just a few minutes before was never my intention to hurt you and nothing happened either. I am just your husband. And about hurting you. Yes, I did hurt you before. Do you have any idea how she is suffering? Do you have any idea how much you and your family are hurting her?" He yelled at last.

She removed his hand from her cheeks and responded, "First of all tell me who the hell is she? I am tired of hearing someone's presence again and again. Tell me her name. Let me know. My family and I never hurt anyone who you know," she tried to explain.

"Zoya Rahmani Aziz! My sister and your first cousin Sahir's wife! Don't act innocent now. I know you people taunt her every time just because your cousin is having a financial crisis. Do you know how much that pushes me far from you? Do you know how much it disgusts me when I see your family? I feel suffocated. I feel like I will kill Sahir and your Phupho but the face and destiny of my sister stop me! Your mother would have been the same with my sister then."

"Ham-za?" She was shocked and thrilled at the same to hear all these. She knew how her Phupho taunts Zoya but her mother was never involved. Even her mother gets taunts and treated badly by her Phupho.

"Don't say anything about my mother!" She yelled back.

"Why so? She did hurt my sister."

"No! Even my mother was tortured by Phupho. Speak if you know! You don't know how much my parents suffered. My father was treated differently in my paternal house. Even my grandparents had partiality between my father and his younger brother. You don't know anything, Hamza. Amaar and I are treated differently from the rest of our cousins. We never used to go to any family gatherings because we were never respected. You know what? Sahir bhaiya is better than you. At least he never physically hurt Zoya Bhabhi. Never. Ask her yourself. And what did you did? See my fingers! Is this how a husband behaves with his wife?"

She yelled breaking down and crying. Hamza stood shocked and couldn't move from his place. It was as if his legs are stuck in the mud. He saw how she broke down and was weeping for the deeds he did to her. He knew that what he was doing with her but he didn't know she was suffering too.

He bends to her level as continuous tears rolled down his eyes seeing her pain.

"You married me for the wrong reason and destroyed my life," she murmurs. He didn't say anything, his voice was stuck in his throat.

"I-i am S-sorry. I know it will be hard for you to accept it but..."

"Do you know I had fallen for you before our marriage? I had this huge crush on you. It slowly turned into love when your proposal came for me. Your kind gestures and sweet words made me feel so much better. I thought I can live a life better than that one. I beaded so many dreams in my eyes. You were the only person who I would think about when I wake up when I sleep when I work. Every time I used to think so much about you but when you behaved that way on the very first day. I remembered my dad's words he used to say that people will use others for their benefit. No matter how much you love them. He said Just be kind and move on but what should I do now? Should I take your hand in my mind and move on with your so-called revenge or should I separate ways from you?" She yelled.

"It's totally your choice but I didn't know you were suffering so much. I wish I'd known about it earlier and am sorry for that. Trust me I am. I didn't want to treat you this way-"

"But you did Hamza!" Mehrish cried. Without thinking twice, he hugged her and tried consoling her by saying sweet words but her mind wasn't processing anything.

"Just give me one chance. I will love you the way I used to do before our marriage," he stared at her eyes with tears. He had never seen him so weak.

"I had no choice but my heart was heavy with how Zoya didi was suffering in your home," he whispered stroking her hair. She calmed down a bit. "I loved you so much Mehrish. But when I got to know everything about what was going on in your Phupho's home. It literally broke me. I know that I used you for no reason but I was foolish to think that I can mend relationships with that. I promise I'll keep you happy if you give me a chance. Will you?"

A day passed but Mehrish didn't answer what he asked for. It was difficult for her.

She was used.

This began torturing her so much. She thought she will have her time and space until she feels comfortable with him. He apologized for how he behaved. He was gone out for some work he had. She sat on the chair on the balcony, staring at her fingers. The wounds were almost healed. It wasn't a deep wound but it still hurt her. Somehow it gave her the answer she was looking for. That is,

It was healing and so was her heart.
