REBECCA'S POV

I smiled and ran my fingers through Ryan's hair until he fell asleep. He truly meant everything to me and the joy I felt when I saw the excitement in his eyes when I woke up was unbelievable and overpowering. When I listened to Landon and Sheila on the phone, I tried to pay attention to Ryan and noticed how exhausted he looked. I loved this man and would give anything to talk to him right now, but since my voice wasn't working I figured it would be the perfect time to get him to relax and take a much-needed nap. I couldn't sleep, heck I've been unconscious for a long time according to everyone's reactions, so I just kept playing with Ryan's hair in repetitive motions and thanked God for bringing him into my life.

About an hour and a half later, a man came in and introduced himself as my doctor. He was polite enough to speak quietly so Ryan could stay asleep as we had our conversation. He told me what injuries I'd suffered and that there would be a new scar underneath my breasts going across my ribcage. They normally try to make smaller incisions but the situation need immediate attention so I couldn't complain.

"Now there's one thing we'd like to ask you just to make sure," Dr. Gensler seemed almost nervous or comfortable to ask the next question. "Although we took tests and didn't see any indications, we want to make sure that Mr. Logans or any of his associates harassed you sexually." I raised my brows a bit because seriously, Ryan found me in a dark basement tied to the ceiling with my clothes ripped open... of course they harassed me. But he did NOT rape me. My voice still wasn't back but I felt Ryan stirring under my hands and turned my attention to catch him watching me intently, waiting for my answer. I motioned that I needed something to write on so Ryan quickly gave me his phone and opened a new text message screen.

It depends what you mean by sexually harass... He didn't rape me if that's what you're trying to ask.

Dr. Gensler read the screen after Ryan's eyes scanned it. The relief was there in both of their eyes but it was much stronger in Ryan's. He leaned up and kissed me right in front of the doctor with a joyous smile.

"I can speak to you more in depth later when your voice returns as well." He turned to Ryan. "We're thinking she can be transported to your local hospital sometime Sunday if all goes well. She should be okay to eat a little bit in the afternoon but try to stick with soups, I'll notify a nurse to come take both of your lunch orders around eleven... I want you both eating enough okay?" I smiled as Ryan shook his head, listening to the doctor. He wished us well and left with a kind smile.

"I was trying to get you transferred to Matt's hospital so hopefully we can get there by Sunday," Ryan explained sweetly and then twisted his neck until it cracked – which always makes me shudder. "I thought you'd be more comfortable there and Matt could be your nurse, they're already sending him updates on your patient chart so he's keeping us in the loop." I nod along in agreement because Ryan really does know best. I'm sure I would be more relaxed in Matt's hospital than I was here, especially now that Kirk wouldn't be an issue...

"We can talk about legalities when you're doing a little better but I know the police want to speak to you as soon as possible. It's a pretty open and shut case Will says but they have to get your side of the story no matter what." I keep nodding but tug him towards me. My body is so sore and I can't really move anything except my head and arms even though I want him to cuddle with me more than anything – it just won't be possible. "Here babe," Ryan sweetly climbs into my bed and drapes my legs over his lap while leaning on the little footboard. He pushed a button and his makeshift backrest rose a little higher. "I saw them move this before so I knew it extended," he explained and relaxed back, gently massaging my feet.

My head rested back onto my pillow and I could feel my eyes fluttering shut. I snapped them open and shook my head a bit while Ryan looked amused.

"Babe, you can sleep. I'm sure you weren't getting much sleep before you got here." I slept so much though; he just said we'd hopefully transport me Sunday! What day was it? I held my hand up like a phone and he chuckled while passing me his cell. IT WAS EARLY SATURDAY MORNING?! I text him a message and pass it back.

It's Saturday!? How long was I asleep for?

"Well we got you early on Tuesday morning so you've been asleep since your surgery then..." I motioned for the phone back.

So, I was just with Kirk Saturday night to Tuesday morning?

Ryan's eyes got sad before he spoke.

"Longest ___ hours of my life." He looked like he was in so much pain and I couldn't take it. I motioned for the phone again and started typing everything I was feeling since I couldn't speak. "You writing a story Becs?" Ryan joked. I smiled but continued my hectic typing. Once I was finished, I handed Ryan his phone and laid my head on the pillow to try and get some sleep. I didn't need him fighting me on what I said – he couldn't object if I was asleep.

Ryan,

You are by far the most incredible person I've ever known. Nothing about what happened is your fault. I know that's what you've been thinking... please stop beating yourself up over it, it hurts me to see that unnecessary guilt in your eyes. Continuing on that point, you've been nothing less than amazing since day one. The amount of love you show for me in everything you do literally brings tears to my eyes. You've saved me from so much harm and taught me how to really live again. Everything I've had to go through just comes down to a happy ending anyway. You.

I love you more than words can describe.

I wasn't asleep yet, but I kept my eyes closed and felt Ryan's big hands gently squeeze my feet.

"I love you too Becs... more than words can describe."
