All the clouds in me are raining...
                             -r.h. Sin.

       .Niklaus.

I let out a low chuckle, listening to River ramble on about the girls at his school. He was actually a fun individual to be around when one actually paid attention to him. He slaps the wooden table before him, letting out a ridiculous chuckle.

      "Her ass was that–"

"Might I just add...you are absolutely disgusting." Raven suddenly interrupts, appearing before us with Katherine by her side.

I think I stopped breathing the moment I saw her–as corny as that might sound. She just had to. Her body was wrapped around one of the finest coat of suit I'd ever seen. Her hair properly straightened and–did she have make up on?

"You look like you're going to rob a bank," River comments before I have the opportunity to compliment the choice of clothing. "But then you look like you'd look hot while doing it."

"Where'd you get this?" I turn, aiming my question at Katherine. Her lips fold and her eyes go wide at my question.

"Don't ask questions you don't want answers to bluey." She responds, making a nickname out of the color of my eyes.

"I'm already hot." I hear Raven say to River's previous remark.

"You look alright." I say, fixating my gaze on hers. Her eyes narrow at my comment, staring me down. She definitely had make-up on.

I notice Kat tug River away out of the corner of my eyes. "Um–we're going to get some snacks."

       "But I'm not hun–"

"Shut up Riverson." She saunters away with him by her side after that.

"Alright?" Raven repeats, trailing towards me. "I look alright, Larson?"

The close proximity between us now is something I wouldn't go for in a public space like this. We make eye contact and then she does that thing with her eyes, where it seems like she's considering me as some sort of snack.

"I know I look better than that." Her voice drops to a whisper.

"Then why are you fishing for my compliment?" Her lips inch closer to mine, lingering.

      "Who said I was?"

Our lips are just about to connect when... "Are you two about to kiss?" We're both startled to be brought face to face with a kid. He had shiny brown hair which had been gelled back to match his little tux and sky blue eyes.

"Nicholas?" Raven says, staring at the kid. I stop, watching the interaction between my girlfriend and this kid. A smile lights up the boy's face, revealing a scanty mouth. He had lost most of his tooth and he appeared even more adorable.

"You're the girl with the bird's name." He grins and Raven guffaws, tugging on the boy's hand.

"Did your mom bring you?" She asks.

"No. Well, she's out with this guy today and he brought us here." The kid replies with an eye roll.

Raven leans in to the kid, dropping her voice to a whisper. "Are they having sex?"

"Raven!" I yell, calling her out on her choice of language with such a young kid.

"What? Nicholas is cool," she scoffs. "Oh...um...right. Nicholas, this is Niklaus or just Klaus. He's my–"

"Boyfriend," He cuts her off. "Yeah, I caught on. Who names a kid Niklaus? It's a rip off."

I gasp at his words. "It's a British name."

"Why'd you need that? You're in America." He counters with a scoff.

"Woah!" Raven cuts in. "Chill out, both of you."

"He's the one who came at me." I point out.

Raven face palms, putting a hand to my shoulder. "You're being childish."

"No, I'm not." I fold my arms.

"You kind of are." Nicholas points out.

My blood boils at his voice and I lunge at him, just to have Raven hold me back. "Kid's mom is a whore. Unless you want to have a go, I suggest you do not do shit."

"Yeah. She sleeps around a lot," The boy agrees to what Raven had said and I almost choke off air from the realization that he knew the meaning of that. "I'm going to get pudding now. You can continue your kissing."

"See you later kid." Raven waves him off with a smile.

       "I don't like him." I say.

"Too bad. I do." She swiftly says, letting go of my blazer. Her face scrunches up when she looks at me once again and then she does the least thing I expected her to do. She reaches up and places a small kiss on my lips. "Better."

The unacceptable sound of a spoon against a wine cup brings our attention to Raven's aunt–Jenna–standing at the podium in a silk, long dress with a huge smile taped to her face.

She requests the guests take their seats as the event is actually about to begin.

"Can't believe he's actually going through with this." Raven gags as we approach our table.

"Don't matter if you do. It's happening anyway."

      "Oh yeah. Shit."
