You hated high school.

Not because of the work or the teachers, but because of the people in it. As you could see, you didn't get along with people that well, but who could blame you? The reason as to why you wouldn't get along with a person is unless their attitude is sour as hell, or their just annoying as fuck.

"Ayo (y/n), got paper?"

Exhibit A, Gazzy Garcia. The most dumbest (I don't mean this) and most unprepared person to ever go to school with you.

You turned to face him with an irked off look, brow raised in annoyance and everything.

"I ain't your momma Gazzy, get off your ass and invest in paper"

You say, rolling your eyes and looking back down the worksheet the teacher just passed out. Omar giggled and clasped a hand over his mouth. Giving Gazzy a look.

"Leave my sister alone, she finna slap you 'cross yo damn face"

He said with a chuckle. The person in the chair next to you shuffled around a bit, you turned to face him. Just to he greeted by a cheesy smile. A small blush was spread across your face as you made eye-to-eye contact with him. For some odd reason— for some unexplained reason— your heart fluttered. Always around him.

"Wassup"

He chimed. You have him a nod and turned away, your older brother noticed this and grinned at your way, along with Gazzy. You turned away from them and faced Isaiah once again.

"You heard what happen to Stok and Jah today?"

He asked, trying to make conversation. You nodded your head and listened in to what he had to say. He was always so great at telling stories.

"They started fuckin around in the lab and broke one of the test tube shits. Mr. Abe was so pissed that he flipped his chair and it broke the window, I don't know the full story but I know it ends with Stokeley crying fake tears"

You stuffled a laugh and just puffed out your cheeks. Isaiah was just so funny. You stopped when you heard your brother whispering behind you.

"Hey Gazzy, ain't it odd that Isaiah only talks to my baby sister in class"

The Garcia placed a hand over his mouth with fake shock. Omar turned to him and shared the same expression. Isaiah turned to them  and raised a brow.

"That is very funny Omar. And isn't it very strange that the only person (y/n) isn't a dick to is Isaiah"

Your face goes a dark red and your larger at the two of them. You were about to slap them both before Isaiah pushed both of their heads together.

"Quit foolin' around nerds, (y/n)'s a very nice person. Ain't that right small pinero?"

You nodded your head vigorously and punched your brother in the chest. Omar just laughed and hid behind Gazzy, his big commotion caught the attention of the teacher in the front.

Mrs. Cariño crosses her arms angrily and glared at the direction of all of you at the back table.

"Come on guys, in class?"

She grumbled. You paused and breathed heavily in an uneasy pace.

"Omar, Gazzy. Detention after school in my class"

You and Isaiah both laughed. Your brother and Gazzy both groaned and mumbled very rude things of the Filipino teacher under their breathe.

"But Miss we gøt was gonna watch Kung chi the zion hunting thief after school today—!"

"Nope, you should've thought of that before you started playing around today. I expect you here after school, if this place isn't in tip-too shape than you're staying in my class for the rest of the week, okay?"

"But Miss—"

"Okay?"

The two sighed. But you felt something was off. You could tell it by the reaction in Omar's face. A small but visible smirk.

"Yes ma'am"

****

Well, please don't laugh when I describe what happened next....— it's pretty fun if you think about it though!

You see, you lived your big brother very much. You would do anything for him. So when he cried to you with tears in his eyes it would make sense that you felt a guilty pang and took his spot for detention.

"But Omar she's gonna—"

"(Y/n)! Please!"

You urged you.

"Just you and Gazzy, nothing more or less! I swear, please I've been  trying to get these tickets for the past month for a long time! I don't care if Gazzy don't watch it but I need to!"

He exclaimed dramatically. You frowned and breathed out annoyed.

"Omar I hate you so—"

"I love you so much (y/n), thank you!"

What would happen next you wouldn't expect it. Especially from two morons like Omar Pinero and Gazzy Garcia.

Your brother pushed you down the hall and stopped in front of Mrs. Cariño's classroom. Gazzy waited outside with a grin.

"Why aren't you cleaning up yet Gazzy? Y—"

"(Y/n), just know I'm your big brother. And ain't no bitch ass nigga named Isaiah will ever take my spot. Oka—"

You raised a brow.

"Omar what're you—"

"I'm sorry sis"

Omar slammed the door open, and with the help of Gazzy the classroom door was forced shut. You fell to the ground and started to pound on the door.

"Gazzy! Omar! What the hell are you two doing!"

You called from in the class. You backed away from the door with a look of fear and groaned annoyed, you jumped up when you bumped into a taller light skinned figure.

"Oh, wassump (y/n) Pinero"

You heard his voice chime behind you. You stiffens and your face burned as you slowly turned around.

"Not quiet a surprise to see you here"

He said Cooley. You were at a lost for words, he just made you feel some type of flustered way. You didn't like it.

"I know I shouldn't have believed Gazzy's chronic ass when he told me he had to take his grandmama codeine shoppin'..... man, I hate those nigga's"

You nodded your head quickly and turned away. You turned on the classroom lights just to see that everything was okay and quiet fixed up. I mean, to Mrs. Cariño's expectations of course.

"Oh"

You turned the lights back off and took a seat onto her desk. Isaiah claimed her royally comfortable seat as his own.

You glanced at him from here to there. Isaiah just spun around in the chair like a kid. Giggling like one to, you couldn't help but feel a dip in your stomach. Making you groan.

"You aight? Omar didn't push you to hard did he?"

You just nodded your head and placed a hand in the air to reassure him. Isaiah was always so protective and careful over you, he was a tad less of an older brother than Omar. Something very rare you'd find in people.

You see, you practically grew up around Omar and his friends. You fucked with most of them heavy. You liked all of them like they were duplicates of Omar. But Isaiah, no. Not him. You always felt a certain way around him. He was always treated more better than the others. Even Gazzy. That surprised you the most.

A long awkward silence was between the two of you. You were escaping everything in reality with your thoughts as he stared into the dark abyss of the classroom. You kept the lights off so it wasn't so bright and hot. You guys didn't know how long you're be there.

"(Y/n), Omar and Gazzy didn't tell you bout no clown shit about me, did they?"

He asked, breaking you out of your deep thoughts. You turned to him and shrugged your shoulders.

"I don't know, they talk about you a lot. It's weird but I like it"

You admit. Isaiah placed both of his hands over his face and sighed. You heard shuffling from behind the class door.

"Isaiah, as soon as you tell my baby sister about that thing you've been wanting to tell her y'all can go out. If not than enjoy resorting to cannibalism over the weekend~"

Omar chimed from behind the door. You were surprised that they even stayed, that thing he told you about the movies must've been a big. Fat. Lie.

You turned to Isaiah with yearning eyes. Pulling on his jacket, he turned to you and looked uneasy. At the edge.

"Come on man, just tell me so we can leave. I do not wanna figure out who'll kill who first, and I don't wanna know"

You tugged his jacket and pressured him to tell you. He scratched on his wrist at the sleeve of his clothes.

"Please im kinda sick of this whole game with Omar and Gazzy. They gettin real irritating, so it'll just be easy if you say it now than later"

"..."

The Rivera didn't answer at all. He was trapped in his thoughts and he was contemplating if he'll tell you what he had to tell you or not.

"Isaiah"

"....."

He didn't answer. You started to get irked of.

"Isaiah Rivera"

"Isaiah come on hurry up"

"The faster you just answer me the quicker we can leave"

"......."

"Isaiah!—"

"I kinda like you!"

You admitted out loud. You stepped back a little bit as he paced back and forth in the class. You were too clouded in Your thoughts to even notice that a click was heard from behind the door.

"W-Well I don't know completely yet— I'm just trying to figure this shit out! I mean, big brother. You just think I'm your big brother, and I was fine with that! But noooo, I had to tell Omar and he got involved. Man I'm stupid. Dumb. Stupid. Stupid. Stupid—"

You stopped the Rivera from tugging out his gorgeous locks right away. Placing a hand on his shoulder.

"Isaiah, I think that's very sweet but—"

"See! You don't even like me, why would I try to even think that what Omar and Gazzy said to me was—"

You pressed harshly on his wrist, catching your attention once again.

"I was trying to say but I don't know how to explain my feelings. You're right about the big brother part, but lately you've been feeling like more than a homie. And to be honest I'm scared!"

You exclaimed.

"I don't know how I feel and it's stupid, okay. I don't know how to talk or do shit around you, and that's stupid! My feeling is just cotton candy and you're the source that makes me melt! And that's stupid! and I can't—"

Isaiah held your hands and you felt heat rush up to your face. You felt so lightheaded from all the times this man made you blush and go crazy today.

"It's okay, it's okay. I don't understand this and neither do you. It's great that if we do start off as something we can both be on the same page"
