I was sixteen when I saw him.

The city was in chaos, from what I can remember. There were broken cars here and there, people were running for their life. Children cried, adults panicked; they have no clue what to do.

And, there I was, in the middle of the city road, surrounded by the smashed and torn down cars and building debris, trying hard not to lose my mind while I protect my younger brother.

"(Y/n), a-are we gonna die?" My brother's small voice took my attention. I only gave him a gentle smile, and told him that we won't. "I'm sure of it. We'll be safe and sound in just a blink of an eye."

I seriously need to get us out of here. I groaned to myself then. Though I honestly don't know how to get past these cars and debris. We could've just stayed home an hour ago, but no-- we just had to go to this store and now we're in this mess.

Suddenly, my brother and I heard a quick woosh of an engine. Maybe it was a rocket, I don't know. But what I do know, is that at that time, when I looked up at the slightly smoke-covered sky, I saw a bright flash of red.

Those must be the infamous heroes. My mind told myself. At that time I almost forgot that these so called 'heroes' were in our city, and that whenever there's trouble, they're always there.

"Iron-Man!" My brother cheered. That must be the name of the red thing that flew across the sky. I never really paid attention to their names, I just appreciated the fact that they could save the city over and over again.

The only problem at that time, was that dude didn't even bother to look down and notice us. And there I thought we'll be saved. Guess not.

The sound of the rockets and bashing and all that only made the situation worse. The broken buildings only roared, threatening to fall. I only gulped, nervous because we had a small chance of living.

A blast suddenly shot out on one of the buildings that were near us. The pieces of the building flew out here and there, landing on the ground and making a big crash. If we don't get out of here any minute, we'll be crushed in those.

These mad people just left their cars here! The fallen debris just had to block our escape, don't they?

I looked up. There was a building debris about to fall towards us. My face paled. My body froze. I gripped onto my little brother's shoulders tighter than usual. This was it.

But then, as soon as that chunk of cement and wire and glass shards was about to land and crush the both of us, I didn't know how it happened. My brother and I were swooped out of the place we were earlier, just as the debris fell on the ground. I looked down on my waist. Something was stuck around me, some sort of.. white stuff?

Wait, web?

I looked at my brother to see where he was. He was perfectly safe, and his body was wrapped in those white stuff I mentioned earlier. We both landed in some safe platform, and before I could react a person landed right in front of us.

"See? I could perfectly rescue people after all," The person in another red suit exclaimed to himself. Well, they sounded like a guy. "Gosh, I wish Mister Stark was there to see me with all that action." He chuckled to himself, right before realizing that he was creeping the people in front of him.

The stranger looked at both my brother and I. He was wearing a mask that matched his suit, covering his head. I couldn't quite recognize what he looked like, that's for sure. But he had a slightly-strong build.

I rememeber being completely shocked that time. "W-Wha-" I tried to speak, but he beat me to it.

The 'eyes' on his mask somehow widened when I looked at him directly. "(Y-" He spoke something but his words seem to stumble. "-I-I mean, lady! You a-and your brother are safe now, uh.." He sounded nervous. But I didn't pay attention to that.

"W-Who are you?" I wanted to know his name. Is he one of those heroes in town? My brother stood quiet beside me then. He doesn't seem to know this fellow.

"W-Well, I'm Pe-" Stuttering, he was about to tell me something but he stopped himself. "I mean, your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man! Y-Yeah, that's me." He chuckled nervously.

Spiderman, huh? So those are webs. My mind thought at that moment, though I quickly mustered up all my voice to reply back.

"Thank you." I replied, making him nod. With one swift wave of goodbye, he shooted another one of his 'webs', and in an instant, he was gone.

"(Y/n)." Somebody poked my nose. I looked to my right to see Peter Parker, my classmate ever since freshman year. Currently, we were all in the cafeteria. Lunch time was slowly passing by, and I didn't realize I was zoning out again.

"W-Wha-?" I softly mumbled, making Peter laugh lightly. "You've been daydreaming again. The others told us that they'd be back in the room earlier. Some errand or something," He replied.

"Oh." I could feel my cheeks flush. He just ate another of his fries. I looked down. "Sorry, I was just thinking about something."

"Like what?" Peter asked, swallowing his food. I smiled while shaking my head, dismissing the topic. Though he just pressed on.

"C'mon, (Y/n). We've been friends since sophomore year. You can tell me anything." He politely said, taking a sip from his juice. I just sighed. He was right.

"Well.." I started. Peter listened attentively, waiting for me to continue. "You do remember the chaos that happened a year ago, right?"

Curious, Peter nodded. "Yeah.. Why?" He slowly asked. I grinned. "You know, my brother and I almost died back then."

"You've told us about that already," He chuckled, looking down. "What about it, though?" He looked back at me.

"I also told you guys about that guy who saved us." At that time, Peter was drinking from his juice box. After I said those words, he immediately slightly choked from his drink. I laughed a little because of his carelessness, but after an apology he urged me to continue.

"I owe him my life. I never properly said a 'thank you' to him." You sighed. Peter cleared his throat. "Yea you did."

"What?" I got confused. He was never really there at that time, though.. "Nothing! Continue." He sheepishly grinned.

"Anyway, it's been a year and there's no chaos that erupted in the city at all. I know I haven't seen him since, but I wanted to see him just this once again." I confessed. Peter just looked intrigued, again sipping on his box. "And also.. I kinda wanna tell him that I like him a lot ever since...I really admired what he did."

Another choke was heard from the guy beside me. I worriedly patted him in the back as he coughed a few after, asking him what was wrong that he kept on choking on his drink. "Geez, that's what you get for drinking it so quickly."

"N-No, it's just-" Peter breathed. "Did he tell you his name?"

"I think so. He told me he's 'Your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man'." I smiled. Peter nodded before looking down as if he's thinking of something.

"Hey, what if he tells you he likes you too?" He suddenly asked after seconds passed. I got startled at his question, feeling the blush start to form again on my cheeks. What if Spider-Man likes me too? Well, that's impossible.

"Even if it's impossible, then I guess I'd be happy, I don't know." I replied unsure, because that was a really odd question. Peter seemed to nod again, rubbing his chin with his finger. He looked like he's plotting something.

The bell rang after, signalling that lunch was over. Both of us gathered our things, before rushing out to our lockers. But before Peter and I parted ways, he asked another strange question.

"You still pass by the back of the building on your way home, right?" He asked that with a shy smile on his face. Still weirded out, I replied anyway.

"Yeah, where else would I pass though?" Chuckling, I waved to him goodbye.

"Hey lady,"

After a few more hours of boring lectures, class has finally ended, and I could finally go home. I saw my friends before I could leave, though I haven't seen Peter since that one class we had a few hours after lunch time.

I wonder where he went?

Anyways, I'm on my way home, my backpack strap resting against my shoulder, my phone on my other hand. I was walking towards the back of the school building when I heard a familiar voice.

I looked around, there was no one with me. Weirded out, I shrugged it off. But then it called out again.

"Up here." I looked up, and there I saw him. Spider-Man. Right there, hanging upside-down from some support up the building, his web was latched onto him to carry his weight.

"I-It's you," I gaped, surprised to see him here. "W-What are you doing here?" Dang, why do I keep stuttering?

"A friend told me a pretty girl named (Y/n) wants to see me again after so long." Spider-Man casually replied. Peter's his friend? Woah, that dude needs some explaining to do. "He told me to look for a girl about his age, (hair length) (hair color) hair, the most sparkling (eye color) eyes." He added.

I didn't notice a blush forming again on my cheeks. Peter told him that? He's very descriptive..

"I remembered you the moment he told me so." Spider-Man lowered himself since he's high above me. The web just lowered him down until his upside-down eyes reached mine, and he could perfectly see my blushing face. Darn it. "It's good to see you again, (Y/n)."

Hearing him say my name just sends these stupid butterflies in my belly. Let's just say that ever since he saved my life, every now and then he'd reach my mind. And he never got wiped off of it.

"I-It's nice to see you again, too." Gosh, I need to handle my stuttering. So, clearing my throat, I decided to boost my confidence and finally tell him.

"Thank you for saving me and my brother back then." I was surprised at my own voice. Great! It didn't stutter.

Spider-Man only chuckled lightly at my thanks. Using his one hand, he managed to pat my head despite his position. "You already said thanks back then, didn't you?"

"It was too sudden, and improper..." I bit my lip and trailed off. "I wanted to do it again."

"Well, it wasn't a big deal. You two are safe and sound now, right?" I could feel him smiling against his mask, and right then and there I suddenly felt the need to peel that red mask that covered his face, his identity. But I held my cool, just for now, since I also felt that was impolite.

"He.." Spiderman suddenly trailed off after silence greeted the both of us. He must be talking about Peter. "He.. told me you liked me." I widened my eyes at what he said.

That jerk! Spilling my secrets to someone when..

Wait, I didn't tell him not to tell.

Still!

"Hey, don't be mad." Spidey laughed, noticing my glare. I didn't even notice that I was glaring into nothingness. Embarrassed, I widened my eyes before looking away from him, only to feel his costume-covered hand move my head by my chin to face him again.

"I liked you a lot too, even before." He surprisingly confessed, making my eyes even grow wider. How could that be? Was it like at first sight?!

"H-Ho-Why-" I stammered, the blush on my cheeks started to worsen. Darn.

"No, it wasn't just at the time when I saved you." The red masked hero chuckled, somehow hoping that I could calm down. "Ever since we became friends, I adored you."

"Do you study here?" I quickly asked, though surprise still enveloped my expression. I felt him smile again against his mask. He nodded his head.

No way, could this be someone I knew before?

"Take a wild guess who am I, (Y/n). Go ahead." He simply stated, making me baffled. What the heck? I could just pull off his mask! And geez, the fact that our faces are merely inches apart is not helping.

"I.. I don't know.." I unsurely replied, making him chuckle again. He sure do likes to chuckle.

"Then take off my mask." Spider-Man finally told me, making my head explode with possibilities of who this person could be. If he studies here with me, then he might be that weird guy on the corner of the room!

Wait, he told me we're friends.. That weird guy is definitely not my friend.

Instead of thinking over it a lot more, I just decided to do what he said. Before I could pull it off completely, he stopped me. "Not too fast," He teasingly said.

I rolled my eyes and scoffed playfully, before taking his mask slowly, like what he said. My fingers met the hem of his mask, and surely, I pulled it bit by bit until his lips were first seen. I looked at the lips for a moment to think who might have these kind of lips. No person entered my mind yet.

Spider-Man must have noticed my sudden halt in pulling off his mask. Right before I knew it, the lips I was studying quickly pressed onto mine, making me jolt back because of the surprise.

Immediately, he apologized. "S-Sorry! It's just that.. I got scared.." He shyly explained. I got confused.

Then, he sighed. "You're finally going to know who you've been admiring the past year. We may know each other, but I'm afraid that if you found out who I really am..." He trailed off. "You'd be disappointed.

I kissed you because I thought this was my chance. I'm scared since if I do it after you knew me, you'd reject me immediately. At least if I do it before, I'dĀ  be ready for you to be mad." The guy in front of me finished.

I only gave him a smile. "Why would I be mad..?"

"Because," He huffed. I chuckled, then right before he could speak again, I took off his mask.

Fluffy brown hair greeted me. Familiar dark brown eyes met my gaze, and there I found myself face-to-face with no other than Peter Parker himself.

Oh, now I get it.

Although shocked at the revelation, I managed to give Peter another smile. My hands found themselves on both sides of his head, and before I could rethink I found my lips pressed against his again. He was surprised at first, though I felt him return back the kiss soon after.

After we both pulled away, I looked at him with a grin. "I-I'm glad that it's you," I told him, making him smile widely. There I remembered that he was a really good friend, and he never really did anything to hurt me.

His kindness first entered in my mind, and soon after I placed the two puzzle pieces together. They fit perfectly, just like the fact that Peter would definitely do what Spider-Man did.

"Thanks for saving my butt again," I jokingly told him, making him laugh. This time, my lips met his cheeks. "My hero."
