After interviewing the former actress from the film industry, Ms. Mayuri Thakur, Anvesha had finished the ongoing segment of her talk show, The Real Heroes.

She was pretty satisfied as the next segment was something she wanted to do since long. As her presentation was approved, Anvesha was set to interview the eminent defence officials and their families. The show shall focus on the real heroes of her nation, Anvesha thought. She, along with her team, had zeroed down on the names of celebrated soldiers, along with the officers from the three facets of the defence services, namely, Army, Navy and Air Force. They were on the mission to highlight the struggles of unsung war heroes who had fought for protecting India in the blood-shedding Indo-Pak Wars, hard times during the Indo-China War and the most terrible Kargil War.

She had realized that the unsung heroes had not only put their lives at stake during these wars to make sure that all the citizens led a protected life, but also their families. She was traumatized at the cheerful faces of the wives and children of the war heroes who had sacrificed their lives for the nation. She had realized the courage of the war-widows and their children was simply, unfathomable as these ladies tried to put on with their struggles and tried to control their tears during the last rituals of their martyred husbands. She wanted to pay a tribute to everyone who had protected thousands of Indian families by fighting for their motherland at the borders.

She had also got permission to visit the eminent defence officials at their homes as those unsung heroes and their families were not comfortable to travel to Delhi and come at the studio.
Anvesha was ready for the new start as her boss congratulated her and wished the best for the upcoming segment. Having finished her work, she headed for her studio apartment as she talked to her mother on the way.

After a hectic day and a delicious dinner cooked by her maid, Anvesha was lying on her stomach on her bed as a smile crept on her face reading a ‘good night’ text from Adhyayan. She realized the not-so-haughty Mr. Haughty Shoes was gradually making a place in her heart. After whatever happened two years ago, Anvesha had closed the doors for every man willing to have an informal relationship with her but Adhyayan was different.

Having begun their journey as friends, Anvesha had gradually begin to admire Adhyayan, especially the real, carefree and cheerful Adhyayan being the disguise of an arrogant chef. However, Adhyayan’s personal life had been a mystery and it had definitely intrigued the curious mind of Anvesha. Despite, Adhyayan’s ‘good morning’ messages that added life to her day and the ‘good night’ texts that lulled her to sleep, Anvesha was dying to quench her thirst to know more about him. Being from a media background, Anvesha had tried all the sources to know about Adhyayan’s personal life, his childhood days, his school life, his innocent childhood pictures, and of course, his family.

Anvesha had even stalked the celebrity chef on his social media accounts but she could find nothing except his successful journey as a celebrity chef and owner of chain of his restaurants.

Anvesha was marveled at the deep dark-brown eyes of Adhyayan which had interesting stories to tell but those stories never came out of his mouth. She smiled as she remembered the date with him few days ago.

Having worn a royal blue colored asymmetrical skirt paired with a white crop top that slightly revealed her belly-button, Anvesha had reached Love=Food on Saturday evening. Usually confident Anvesha was bit apprehensive for the meeting however, she had truly enjoyed the company of warm Adhyayan who had welcomed her with a formal handshake. Wearing a crisp maroon white shirt and denims with two front buttons open had managed to captivate Anvesha not with his drool-worthy physique but his interesting talks.

While relishing upon the mouthwatering Blueberry cheesecake especially for her, made by the celebrity chef, along with the perfect combination of Americano, Anvesha had enjoyed talking to Adhyayan who had eventually showing his real, lovable nature. She had loved talking to him that day. She had even got an autograph from him for her mother and he had promised to cook for Anvesha’s mother someday.

Anvesha smiled remembering their conversation which had begun from a formal hello had developed into a pleasant discourse covering various topics like, politics, economy and ultimately, their mothers. Though Adhyayan had not shared much of his family yet he had spoken about his mother and his sister.

Before sleep could engulf her, Anvesha’s phone rang. She was shocked looking at the caller id. She contemplated if she should receive the call or not and she finally, picked up the call at the third ring.

“Hi, Anvesha. Hopefully I am not disturbing you”, an equally confused Adhyayan said on the other side.

Having conversed only on the texts and met just thrice, he wondered if he was doing the right thing but then he realized he had a sound intention behind whatever he was doing.

“Hello, you don’t have to be so formal. We can talk”, Anvesha said clearing his doubts and her words brought life to the confused Adhyayan as he sat upright on his tanned brown couch on which he was slumping tiringly after conversing to his sister, Parisa.

“Anvesha… Ummm… How are you?”
Adhyayan asked in a bewildered manner contemplating how to begin the discourse.

“I am fine but what happened”, said equally perplexed Anvesha at his sudden call.

“I won’t beat around the bush, Anvesha. Are you free this weekend?” Anvesha pressed her lips to suppress her chuckle.

Back to her carefree self, Anvesha said, “Is it a date, Mr. Joshi?” as she narrowed her icy blue eyes involuntarily.

“I want to take you on a dinner, Ms. Chatterjee”, Adhyayan mimicked her in a cheesy tone.

Anvesha could not help but smile. She said chuckling, “I am busy on the weekend, Mr. Joshi.”

“How about the next weekend then?” Adhyayan spoke excitedly just trying to hear a ‘yes’ from the other side while Anvesha tried to play along.

“You know, the upcoming segment of my show requires me to travel so I am bit busy”, Anvesha said as her rose-petals like pink lips involuntarily made a pout without even realizing Adhyayan cannot see her pursing her lips at all.

“A dinner won’t take much time, dear, I promise”, Adhyayan pleaded while Anvesha’s heart fluttered as she heard the endearment. Though ‘dear’ is a casual endearment yet, it sounded too good from Adhyayan’s mouth, she thought. She was indeed melting and after a long series of negotiations, finally Anvesha agreed to meet Adhyayan at ‘The Regal’ for their date on the upcoming Saturday.

Interestingly, they had zeroed upon ‘The Regal’ because it was near Anvesha’s place as she preferred not to travel late at night.
