When I woke up the next morning on the sofa, I had many missed calls from that unknown number. 5 missed calls from Sarah and 3 from the unknown number.

What even happened last night. My head was killing so I went to the medicine cupboard to grab some paracetamol. What was in that drink? I managed to swallow the tablet after a couple of tries and made my way into my bedroom to grab some clean clothes. I found my favourite crop top and shorts and laid it out neatly onto my bed, grabbing some sandals to go with it. It was only 11:00am so I had loads of time before I had to go meet the Pogues. I went to go turn the shower on, grabbing my lotions and setting them out in the order I would use them. Organised I know.

I grabbed a towel and started my playlist and hopped in the shower. The fresh, cold water splashing over my face really woke me up. It was always so refreshing during the summer to have a cold shower.

After my quick shower I got dressed and laid on my bed staring out the window at the beach. I decided now would be a good time to write in my journal. I relaxed in my room for a while with my window wide open so I could hear the waves crashing against the rocks and the birds chirping in the trees. I could feel myself slowly drifting off to sleep until darkness.

I woke up from my nap and checked the time. 1:00pm. I was late for meeting the Pogues down at the beach. I grabbed my bag and keys and ran out the door towards my car. The car my mum had saved up for months to buy me for my 16th birthday. It was the best gift I could have possibly gotten. I jumped into the car and drove towards the beach that I could see from my window. I got there and ran to the sea where I could see them all surfing. Sarah and Kie were sat down on towels watching the boys show off on their boards.

"Hey guys sorry I'm late I fell asleep."
They both laughed, Sarah patting the floor next to her for me to sit down. I smiled at her and took a seat taking my sandals off and placing my feet onto the warm sand. I laid back enjoying the sun. After a hours at the beach we had gotten bored as the sun was starting to set and it was getting a little chilly. I followed John B in the Twinkie to 'The Wreck', Kiara's family run restaurant. They normally don't like us being there but ever since I got a job there they have been awfully kind and polite to the others.

Once we got to 'The Wreck' we sat down at our usual table, waiting for the newest waitress Emma, who I had been training recently, to come over and serve us. She came over trying to balance the tray of drinks that she knew we would order as we did every time. She placed the tray carefully onto the table handing each of us our drinks. We thanked her and I gave her a smile telling her how amazing she was doing already which put a smile on her face, as she walked away to grab the last few drinks. When she came back over we ordered our food and chilled talking about the hectic Kook party the night before.

Right as our food arrived, I get a message from the unknown number. 'You're ignoring me again.' Rafe. I finally changed the contact to his name, and replied. 'Are you ever going to leave me alone?'

'Wasn't going to. Is my sister with you? She isn't replying.'
'Yes she's with me. what do you want Rafe.'
'Your getting angry.'
'I'm not angry. I just want you to tell me what you want.'
'I want to get to know you like I said last night.'
'I thought you were joking? And we have never even had a proper conversation so why do you want to get to know me so bad?'
'You seem interesting unlike my sisters other friends. John B, JJ, Kiara and Pope are just the usual Pogues always surfing.'
'Well yes? That's what the Pogues do, surf. It's in their genes.'
'I want you to meet me later at the country club. 5pm.'
'Umm why?'
'Just be there for 5pm you will see.'
No more replies.

He's so strange. I continue eating my food chatting with the Pogues about the summer ahead of us. After we had all eaten, it was around 4pm so I left them all to go home to freshen up from the beach that morning. When I got home I jumped straight into the shower and washed my hair quickly. I grabbed a towel and wrapped it around my head, tightening it so it wouldn't come loose. I grabbed a clean skirt and a cute top then chucked on a small, thin jacket. I locked up the house and tried to find the country club. I had never been to the country club before and it took me a while to find it within the Kook side of the island. I finally got there and I walked init the reception. As I stepped through the doors, I heard my name being called, I looked to where I heard my name being shouted from and saw a man stood in front of me smiling. He was tall with dark brown, wavy hair. He had a very nice smile and looked very friendly.

I smiled back at him. "I'm y/n. And you are?" "Oh I'm Christopher, but you can call me Chris. Rafe sent me to wait for you." "Hmm did he now? Well do you mind showing me where he is?" He smiled again and started walking towards the restaurant, you followed him towards Rafe. You took a seat at the table smiling at Chris again. "Thank you Chris." He smiles and walks off. Rafe stares at you unimpressed. "Why are you looking at me like that Rafe?" "You seem to know Christopher very well." "I've only just met him and for you information I'm allowed to speak to guys other than you by the way." You roll your eyes leaning back in your chair.

"Why did you want me to meet you?" "I just wanted to get to know you and as you haven't been replying to me very much I thought I'd invite you out for dinner." "At the Country club?" "Well yes it's the nicest place in town. And you deserve to be taken to a nice place to eat." He smiles faintly at me causing me to smile a little back. He calls the waiter over who turns out to be Christopher. You smile at him and tell him your usual order that you would have at 'The Wreck', Rafe orders a steak and chips, I giggle at how posh he's ordering. "What are you laughing at?" He says giving me a confused look. "Nothing. Just find it funny how your ordering such a fancy meal in the afternoon." He smiles faintly at me which shocks me and causes me to stop talking.

We eat our food and sit talking for a while getting to know each other. Maybe Rafe wasn't as bad as I thought. As we were walking out the country club laughing, I remembered what I was going to ask him. "Rafe." I say looking down at the road. "Yes what's wrong?" "Remember the party? How come Topper was just so randomly outside and you somehow were right there to catch me falling?" "Just a coincidence isn't it I guess." He continues walking towards his car leaving me stood there. I ran towards him to catch up to him still so confused. "Do you want me take you home?" He asks smiling. "Uhh sure!" You smile back climbing into the front passenger seat. His car smelt amazing, everything was sparkling obviously just been cleaned.

He drives me home and once I get to my house I see the light on in the living room. My mum is home! I thank Rafe for the ride home and climb out the car. I wave goodbye and walk towards my house. I am met with my mum right as I walk in through the door, she was watching out the window at me and Rafe in the car. "So how was your date?" "It wasn't a date mum, he just wanted to get to know me. He's actually really nice." I say rolling your eyes a little before walking to my bedroom. "It's late so I'm going to bed see you in the morning mum." I smile walking to my bedroom. I collapse onto the bed thinking about the dinner I just had. Rafe really wasn't that bad, he gives off bad vibes but is sweet on the inside once you get to know him.

My phone vibrates once again. 'Hey y/n. I think you left your car at the country club.'
'Oh shit ye I did oops I'll get it tomorrow.'

I spent hours messaging him and finally fell asleep missing my alarm. I get ready really quick and run out the door towards the front door. The Pogues outside waiting for me. I jumped into the back seat. "Sorry guys I got up late I was really tired." Sarah turns around to look at me with a concerned look. "Rafe was also back really late last night." "Oh was he? Must have been out dealing drugs then." She turns back around still with a concerned look on her face. "He couldn't stop smiling at his phone on his way upstairs. I managed to catch a glimpse at his phone as saw it was your name. Care to explain?" "Oh ye I was texting him. Doesn't mean anything."
"Well the way he was smiling must mean something what happened to you yesterday you just ran off." "I can't keep this a secret for any longer so I met up with Rafe yesterday and the country club because he wanted to get to know me." I blurt out quickly.

I take a deep breath looking at the other Pogues. "What! You and Rafe?" Sarah asks shocked.  "Uhh yeah? It was only dinner though and he dropped me off at home afterwards but that was all. He's actually really sweet and is caring underneath his act. You might have never seen that when your at home but it's true." "No I have seen that. But every since my dad married Rose and has been ignoring him he's become horrible doing drugs and everything. I miss that old Rafe. You can bring him back! You can date him to bring back the old Rafe!" "Umm I'm not so sure about that I've only met up with him once and only met him two days ago so."

"So? You can still date him!" "I'm not so sure about that." The conversation slowly dies and we all sit in silence.  I text Rafe to ask if he wants to meet up again.

'Hey Rafe'
Instant reply.
'Hey y/n. What's up?'
'Nothing. I just told Sarah that I met up with you that's all.'
'Oh ok I already told her last night anyway so'
'Wait what she was questioning me and she looked concerned at first! She already knew?'
'Guess she just wanted to make sure it was true and didn't want you to lie so she asked me first I couldn't lie I had a really good time'
'Ye so did I. We should do it again sometime.'
'Ye I'd like that'

I messaged him the entire time we were in the car, smiling down at my phone which everyone finally noticed. "Guys stop looking at me like that. I'm meeting up with him again ok?" They all smile and Sarah cheers in the front seat which makes everyone laugh.

I was so glad to hear that they didn't even care about me and Rafe which made me more excited for the more memories I could make with him from then on.

'Could you meet me at the country club tomorrow evening?'
'Uh ye sure why wats up y/n'
'Nothing just need to tell you something'
