"Well first you would have to have all your memories, which will come to you in time, then you can find out who took them." Magnus nodded pouring himself a drink, a look hidden behind his wall of blockage.

"Magnus, whats wrong?" Piper asked sitting infront of him and looking over his face in concern. "I'm not leaving until you tell me, and don't lie and say it's nothing, I love you, I can tell."

Magnus sighed, not fully wanting to speak of the rough time he had with the agony rune. "I don't want to talk about it, take my hand, look at my mind." He said and she took his hand.

"I don't know how to-" with a slight gasp she relived his worst moment, and then felt how he felt now. "Magnus, I don't hold it against you." She released his hand as he looked down. "Nobody's perfect."

"I knowingly killed my stepfather." He said. "Your a angel." He motioned.

"That's silly, I have angel blood doesn't make me an angel." I shook my head and he cursed.

"Piper you have angel blood, created by a lightning bolt and a angel feather do you know what that is? Your not human at all!" He shouted angerly and she frowned, shaking her head. "Your an angel, like it or not."

"I may be an angel but I've danced with the devil." Piper replied tossing her hands to the air.

"I like the power lightning gives me, knowing that I can level countries at any second." She shouted. "I like the way I control storms, I like the way it feels to let my abilities run wild, but you know why I don't? Because I love the way my new family fights for justice and I love the way I can power up good warlocks and protect countries from demons. We all have evil in us Magnus, but we also have good."

"Well that makes my problem look small." He chuckled, whipping his tears as I whipped my own.

"No problem is small, so can we sit and comfort eachother for a bit?" Piper asked and he patted the couch beside himself.

"Like the time Camille took your binky that week you stayed with me." He chuckled.

"By the way, how did you manage to keep half of my life which was with Clary separate from the other half of my life that I co-existed with the downworld? Also how was my mother okay with me hanging out with vamps and warlocks?"

"Jocelyn didn't know about the vampires and warlocks, and magic, she knew that we still needed eachother." He hugged me and I closed my eyes.

I stood beside Alec and Magnus, the portal Magnus created open as the transport people walked ahead.

"My perfect angel, if only the air didn't reek of downworlder." Valentine spoke to me and Magnus and I scowled, flicking him off.

"Get him outta here." Alec motioned with his head to the portal.

Two guards went then Izzy and then valentine, in his chains headed towards the portal. The man behind him, his eyes went to mine then valentines. His eyes, they were mole eyes, hadn't Alec been looking for a mole? The man placed a hand on valentines shoulder and stepped towards the portal.

"No." I whispered. "No stop! Stop!" I screamed lunging to put my hand on the pair.

"Penelope!" Alec gasped pulling me back. "What are you doing?"

"No no no no!" I shouted, fighting with all my might out of his grasp, biting him so he would let me go as the other looked at me like I was crazy. I gripped my hair pulling at it.

"Valentine just got away, that man who put his hand on him was the mole." I announced and Magnus mouth dropped.

"Piper, how could you tell?"

"I could tell alright? Valentine just escaped, and that mole with him. It's like a sonar, I can tell these things." I shook with anger, sparks flying in the air around me.

Izzy and Jace came sprinting through the portal with the four guards. "Valentine is gone." She panicked. They all looked to me as if I should know the answer.

"Piper knew." Alec whispered. "She's like some sort of prediction machine, the angel blood, it must have something to do with this."

"By the angel I need my memories of I'm going to be able to fix this." I closed my eyes. "And a few punching bags."

After going through the four punching bags and Clary and Jace coming to me to talk about eachother behind their backs I had enough.

"I swear it's gotten to the point where I want to hide every time one of them approaches me." I walked into the hub with Izzy at my side.

"I'm glad it's not just me." Izzy chuckled as the two blondes approached and stood opposite of the two raven haired leaving me at one end of the table.

"Any news on valentine?" Clary asked and Alec shook his head, there was so much stress on him, even I knew that.

"The cabinet has been having secluded meetings in the selfie court since his escape." I alerted and Jace shook his head.

"I'm sure nothing good is going on there." Clary rolled her eyes at his words.

"Does anything good ever happen there?" She said and my eyebrows shot up as I looked to Izzy.

She just roasted him. Damn sista fray.

"The Inquisitor has sent an envoy from the clave here though, no doubt to take control." Alec sighed and I crossed my arms.

"Not with me here." I said and Izzy agreed.

"I should just take the heat, it was my fault." Alec shook his head, looking at me and I gave him a half hearted smile.

"If we catch valentine first maybe not." She suggested and Alec looked from her to Jace. "I was I. Charge of the mission just as much as you."

"No, Alec will do as he's told." A bald man spoke.

"Who's this?" I whispered to Jace.

"Robert lightwood, dad, was there when you crashed Alec's wedding."

"I did what?" I gasped looking over at the lightwoods.

"What are you doing here?" Izzy glared, obviously something had happened between the two.

"I'm the envoy from the clave." He replied looking around at us, giving me a look I couldn't decipher.

I drug Clary into the archives, where Jace was waiting to tell us 'something important'. What that was however, I had no idea.

"What are we doing her Piper?" Clary asked in annoyance before spotting Jace. "You didn't tell me our search on saten island involved him."

"That's because we're not searching saten." He revealed the old looking map of idris, I could easily spot some places. "Do you really think valentine would be hiding there?"

"What are you saying? I think the clave has idris locked up." I crossed my arms, glad I was wearing my training gear.

"There was this cabin he used to take me to when I was younger, I don't think he's hiding here but there's more there in that cabin than on that island." He answered and I sighed.

"Okay and how do we even get there?" I scowled "even if I opened a portal I don't know where this place is." I tucked the stray red hairs behind my ear, the rest was in a ponytail on my head.

"See I was thinking if you got us to the castle we could hike from there." He shrugged and I shook my head.

"I can't just show up at my castle with valentines daughter and the Inquisitors son and not be questioned." I fired back before Clary snatched my wrist taking out her stele. The rune she drew on my hand burned like crazy. "Ow! Clary What are you-"

"Open the portal on this wall." Clary drew the same rune on the wall and I shook my head envisioning the translucent portal that I usually saw when going through a wall into a completely different place. The portal became circular, sparking red purple.

"What the? Clary did you just modify pipers portal?" Jace shouted over the whooshing noise and looked between us. "How is that possible? Only warlocks..and Piper..can make portals!"

"Are you thinking of that cabin?" Clary shouted, instantly I knew what she was thinking.

"Well yeah-"

"Good!" Clary shoved me into Jace so he put his arms around me before pushing the three of us through the portal.

With a flash of light Jace and I went tumbling across the rocks, I groaned, Jace's leg held tightly in my arms and his head held between my feet. In other circumstances I would have laughed and made a inappropriate joke but my biggest worry was

"Clary!" Jace shouted seeing her under the water. I slithered across the rocks and into the water. "Piper no!"

But I had already dove underwater and grabbed the blonde, pulling her up to air as something slit my ankle and I gasped, inhaling water as my blood fused into the blue. Choking I crawled onto the rocks, spitting out water and gasping for breath Beside Clary. I cursed examining my ankle that had struck a rock.

"I think I drank half the lake." I admitted as Clary nodded in agreement, both of us dripping water from our head to our toes. "I'm glad I decided on a tight jumper, Izzy let me borrow it."

"Well it appears your filter is still missing." Jace said and Clary rolled her eyes.

"When did she ever have one?"

As the three of us regrouped I sighed admiring the city. My city. That was when I tripped over Clary and stumbled.

"I'm sorry what?" I asked, having not heard a single word Jace he said.

"I said, Clary just improvised your portal, it took warlocks thousands of years to figure them out. However Clary just pulled yours from the wall."

"Hmm." I nodded as we headed through the woods. Suddenly I hissed in pain, my ankle pulsing with pain. It was swollen and reddish. "Ooh, Okay, stele anyone?"

"Jeez, what did you do to your ankle?" Jace asked and Clary patted around for her stele.

"I must have dropped mine in the pond." She hissed in pain, clutching her stomach.

"Okay, let's go back and get it." I nodded and turned around however Jace sat me down with a pocket knife.

"No, you sit here and wait." He decided "your only going to make it hurt worse." I narrowed my eyes.

"I may be at a loss for memories but I'm not a idiot, whenever people split up in the woods one of them always dies." I whined However Jace and Clary started walking. "Oi, fuck you too!" I shouted.

It had been long, too long. I was utterly alone and hearing cracks in the branches and crunches of leaves. It sounded like people, or things were surrounding me.

"Jace? Clary? Not funny!" I said however got no response. Seconds later I saw a bewildered Clary running through the woods towards me with her blade drawn. I gasped dodging her swing as she shouted that I was Jace's killer. I pinned her to the ground.

"Clary! It's me!" I shouted and her eyes lost their fuzzy ness.

"Piper." Clary relaxed and I got off of her wincing as I stood on my feet, more weight on my good foot. "I lost Jace, then I couldn't find you, Piper they're coming." She seemed frantic.

For some reason that was enough to put me into terror, hazyness clouding my vision. As I fought off the blue I pulled my pocket knife from my pocket, dragging the blade across my arm as my eyes watered in pain.

"Piper what the hell are you doing?" She screamed as I winced wiping the blood on my outfit. "Come on let's go!" She shouted and though my pain I started running, gripping her hand tightly.

Izzy

Alec squeezed his hand before frowning. "Jace." He whispered.

Suddenly a sharp pain drew across my arm and I hissed looking at my forearm where red angry scratch marks appeared.

Help in idris

The three words scratched into Izzy's arm made her panic. "Alec something happened to Piper." She showed her brother the words and they took off into the archieves where a mess of papers, books, and rubbish were strewn around the room.

"By the angel." I whispered, looking at the pattern of glass shards on the floor, Alec squatting beside me. "These look like portal shards."

"Is this a lake?" He asked showing me the faint image of part of a lake in a shard. "And what lake?"

"Idris, that's where Piper is. And I'm assuming Jace and Clary, from your Parabatai bond Jace alerted you for help like Piper did. However now we know where." I assessed, holding a shard and looking through it, like glass.

"The thing is that pipers portals are invisible, also she's never been to to this lake, that I know of." Alec ranted.

"That's because this isn't a normal portal." Our dad stood in the doorway as we stood up. "Pipers portals leave angelic trace in the wards however neither did this one didn't leave anything." He spoke walking in as I sighed.

"Maybe I can connect to her, if she could tell us which beach she's at in idris." I sighed running my stele over my rune watching the red vanish from my skin before spotting a red stele on the ground. "She doesn't have her stele, neither does Jace." I realized holding the two.

"This isn't a beach." Dad spoke. "This is lake Lynn."

"The lake Lynn." Alec's voice held a hint of wariness and I looked at dad.

"I can feel Piper, she's hurt, not just her arm but her ankle and head." I sighed. "We need to get that portal approved."

"I agree, but it might take some time." Dad sighed and Alec shifted on his feet.

"Jace and Piper are in trouble, we need it approved now." He said angelry and I nodded.

"I know, but as long as you are acting head of this institute you have to stay here." Dad argued and I crossed my arms.

"Jace is family." I argued "and Piper is closer than a sister. You can't expect Alec and I to abandon our Parabatai." I motioned and Alec sighed.

"He's right." I turned around narrowing my eyes. "We need to focus on the institute, I'm not abandoning anyone. I'm sending my best shadowhunter to go rescue them and bring them back."

Turning to face my father I set my jaw. "Get me a portal to idris."

"I will, but first there's something you should know about this lake."

Piper

Clary and I stopped, hearing noises and I gasped, knowing the sound.

"Angels." I whispered and sure enough a golden haired man with a white cape attached to a chest plate folded white wings on his back while a woman with dark hair braided down her back in a suit made for a angelic war folded fold wings.

"Hello Clary, Diana." The man-angel smiled and I somehow saw the rippling of gold around his figure. "You may not remember, me, I was weaker when we first met."

"Ithuriel." Clary whispered and he smiled.

"Your even more beautiful than Micheal described." The woman smiled to me standing near I could feel her power and warmth radiating off of her like a heater.

"I thought I could only see the angel that your blood comes from?" I tilted my head and she chuckled.

"In your case your different, beloved." She chuckled lightly.

"What does that mean, beloved of the angels?" I asked and she held in her hands a crafted bow.

"It means that you are the angels finest creation, that each of us loves you and will protect your life. And when the time comes, Micheal will come for you and you will become your angelic self." She smiled holding the bow it changed to a sword, floating gold and then crackling into a lighting bolt.

"And this shall be yours." She said before with vanished. "Micheal sent me here to see you."

"Why? Why me?" I asked, groaning at the some many unanswered questions.

"It was always you, we sent the lighting down to create you, and now we send it to help you." She touches my shoulder lightly with the top of her finger and I gasped, a feeling so beautiful blossoming on my shoulder.

"Alavieve." Ithuriel said quietly and she backed up beside him. "Johnathan is alive." He told Clary.

"Jace?" She asked and he tilted his head.

"I cannot tell you, only direct you." He sighed and they both looked to me with affection and I felt exposed. "Clary." He nodded to her "beloved."

"Uh.." was what I responded with. "Wait-"

"Ithuriel!" Clary shouted but the two angels soared into the sky with a powerful flap of their wings. I looked to my shoulder where a gold swirl branched out like a flower. Had she done that?

Suddenly the world was madness and Clary and I ran in opposite directions. I don't know where I was running or why but I know that I needed to go this way. She ran closing her eyes and feeling adrenaline pump through her.

Nobody

Clary Jace and Izzy stood together, the recently healed blonde shook her head. The red head was missing.

"I-I don't know, we were running then we just split." Clary raked a hand through her hair. "She mumbled something about finding something or someone."

"I can track her." Izzy nodded, closing her eyes and bending her head. After a second she gasped shaking her head. "There's some kind of block on her mind, but I know where she was heading." Isabelle looked between Jace and Clary and Jace's face hardened.

"The cabin if I'm guessing." He said and they all headed that way. "She always seems to have esp with this stuff."

When the group arrived in the cabin it had been recently used. Heading inside they saw the red head shakinging, looking around in shock. Jace grilled her arms and she became herself again.

"Johnathan Christopher." She gasped. "Morgenstern." She held a book gripped to her chest, white knuckles gripping it tight enough to snap it.

"Wait a second, Ithuriel said she would help me find Johnathan." Clary realized. "I don't think she was talking about you."

Piper shook her head violently dropping the book. "Herondale." Piper looked to Jace. "Morgenstern." She looked at the book and Izzy rubbed the girls shoulders.

"Piper your burning up." She gasped as Piper passed out. Jace handed the leather boom to Clary holding the red heads limp body. In fact she was burning, skin sweating slightly.

"Johnathan is alive." She muttered. "Morgenstern."

Clary opened the book seeing two Collumns as Izzy lead the way. Frowning she showed Jace the pages.

"Jace, my brother is still alive. And piper just lead us to him, he was obviously gone before she got there but now we have This book."

"Two Johnathan Christopher's?" He realized "angel blood and demon blood."

"Piper is the key to finding him." Clary shook her head. "The girl is a tangle of mysteries, She's going to have a big surprise when she wakes up."

"Sebastian." Piper muttered, squirming slightly.
