(Still nobody/ everybody)

Alec picked up his phone seeing that Jace was calling, answering it he lifted it to his ear. Jace ran a hand through his hair, ready to get an earful from his Parabatai.

"Penelope, is she okay?" Questioned Alec, that's how he knew that Alec was wound up about it, he used Penelope only two different times. When he was wound up, or the other one which Jace rather not talk about.

"Well, um, Piper died." Jace started off, waiting only seconds before hearing a angry and shocked but over all sad sound before Alec's voice sounded.

"WHAT?!" Alec yelled into the speaker, getting looks from others around the room, glaring at all of them to get out of his business, how could Piper be dead? That wasn't possible, they were, they were...

"But she came back!" Jace quickly added before pausing again "but then she and Clary got kidnapped by Valentine." Alec sighed in relief, not relaxed but less stressed knowing she was Alive. The fact they were with Valentine wasn't much better though, Jace and Simon had one job, keep Clary and Piper safe.

"Oh great." Alec sassed "How could you let that happen? They could activate the sword at any time?" Alec paced the floor of the institute.

"Well pipers not really...She's kinda comatose, so someone could do anything to her right now." Well that came out wrong Jace slapped his face. Alec Britt his teeth, Valentine was evil but he wouldn't let his hands get on Piper. Piper wouldn't let them get their hands on her, broken noses would await those men.

"Aldertree dent out half of the institute to round up those crazy attacks all over Manhattan, I'll call them back in." He hung up the phone and looked to the 'hub' as Piper referred to it.

"I need everyone out there, searching for Piper and Clary." Alec spoke but Aldertree came into the room.

"Disregard that order." He spoke raising a hand and the people looked between the two men. "What the hell do you think your doing?"

"Valentine has Clary and Piper, he could activate the sword at any time and wipe out the downworld." Alec challenged. "So either get out of my way or help."

"You and what army?" The shorter man glared and Alec crossed his arms.

"Remember when I said you were hiding something? Supplying yen fin to a subordinate, a ex field medic should know better." Alec narrowed his eyes at the man who's confidence flickered.

"And who's going to believe you?" Aldertree asked and Alec's glare deepened.

"Your forgetting Isabelle isn't Parabatai bonded to anyone, she's bonded to the future queen of the shadoworld, and Izzy and Piper can look into each others minds." Alec spoke, it was after all Piper who had figured it out, had noticed something wrong for almost a week. "From now on, I call the shots, don't ever threaten my family again." Alec turned to the people and they headed off to do his bidding.

Aldertree walked of scowling deeply. How wrong had he been to think to get away with it. Even if he wished, Alec had control over the institute once more.

Clary yanked at the chains, she had to find Piper, they had come here together. To this strange theme park styled place. But now it was just her but Piper couldn't be far. Valentine needed both of them to activate the soul sword, right?

As she yanked at the chains she finally saw someone who could help. "Jace!" She shouted in relief as he ran in and slashed at her chains.

"Clary." Jace was released that she was okay yet looking around he spotted a lack of red hair. "Where's Piper?"

"I don't know." Clary said "we need to find her before v-"

"Ah, Johnathan, I see you've found your sister." Valentine strolled up confidently, Maddie at his side looking around quietly.

"Where's Piper." Clary snarled, yet standing behind Jace because she was weaponless. Jace has a sword, and apparently pipers level of sarcasm. The two were more like siblings than he and Clary had ever been. Possibly because Jace had never kissed Piper. Clary shook her head, not the right time to think about relationships.

"Diana Penelope? She's sleeping, don't worry she's fine, actually, she's better than fine, shes going through a lot right now." He chuckled before Simon tried to attack him.

The vampire punched him, having no effect. Valentine spun him into a headlock, with a simple move he could snap the boys neck. Clary has no doubt he would if Simon tried anything. Luckily Simon was smart.

"I'll give you back your beloved Piper, she could use some help for what's she's going through. I might warn you, she'lol be in a bit of a state when you wake her." With that Maddie waved her free hand and a coffin appeared. "You'll be the death of that girl, all of you, come along Madzie, save your strength for what's to come."

"Simon-" Clary shouted going after him to no avail as they disappeared through a portal.

Walking to the coffin Clary opened in nervously, Jace looking over her shoulder.

Pipers hair was silky red, unlike her normal curls her hair was straight. Her skin was white as moonlight and a white dress looked like what an angel would wear. Probably valentines form of joke. The girls lips were red and wet the color of blood, no, that was blood. Her eyelids were stained silver with black liner on her dark thick lashes, silver roses curled in her hair. Her cheekbones stood prominent like her collarbones and crows foot. Beautiful, scary, somewhere in between was where the sleeping girl lay.

Questions ran through their heads as Jace lifted her light body from the coffin, Piper would have been assumed dead.

"Who's blood is that." Clary muttered in confusion. "And why won't she wake up?"

"We need to get you back to the institute first of all". Clary took the lead, calling Alec off jaces phone.

"Did you find her?" He asked and Clary sighed.

"Yeah."

"Clary?"

"Alec, she's not waking up." When she turned back to Jace holding air that's when she mentally punched herself. "Alec, pipers still with valentine." She said before hanging up the phone.

Piper.

She lay peacefully on the floor of the institute, her hair creating a halo of red around her ghostly form. Valentine squatted beside her moving hair from her face.

"Oh dear Diana Penelope, do you hear the angels?" She didn't move an inch. "Ive heard rumors of your mother's gift, she could hear their whispers can you? The sword that comes near you, do you hear them whispering?"

After raising his hands he stabbed the sword through the girl's core and lightning crackled around it connecting the blade to her body with lighting joining it together.

"What a wonderful source of angelic power. Lightning was always my favorite natural disaster, so beautiful." Valentine walked away leaving the never moving girl.

Piper could hear the angels, their loud train whistle voice or that of a squealing kettle. Yet as soon as the sword had gone through her skin it was like the angels held a megaphone to her ear and screamed into it.

It was driving her insane, mental and physical. The voices made her scream in her mind, the feeling of being roasted from the inside out. To the outside world she was paralyzed in sleep but on the inside she felt torture.

The angels relentlessly screamed in her ear, the overlapping voices all asking her-no telling her something yet she couldn't decided the meaning.

"The angels voices are heavenly, like honey." Simon told her, the Jewish boy clearly had no clue of their speech.

Suddenly a new feeling rose to the surface, not even close to being less painful it felt as if she was being ripped in half. With much blinking she was looking down at her still body, sword pinning her to the marble floor like a tack.

"Im dead." I crossed my arms huffing. "And I look awful, Jesus, who decided to put me in white? They know it washes me out." I rolled my eyes.

"You are truly my daughter." A warm voice chuckled and I spun to see my mother wearing a pair of jeans with a black turtleneck long sleeve shirt. She looked like a shadowhunter Mom, it was my mother, my real mother.

"Then I really am dead." I narrowed my eyes.

"No your not dead you idiot." Xavier chuckled, walking in wearing something so similar to Jace I almost chuckled, dad strolling in beside him.

"Your fragmented." My father finished for him and I placed my hands on my hips.

"I must not have gotten that far in the archives." I looked to them for answers.

"Fragments are small broken off pieces." My mother explained, running a hand down my silky locks. "So think of it as divided pieces of yourself."

"I still don't understand." I confessed swiping at an object to watch my hand go through it, gasping.

"Do you remember the religion you read of in one of the books from the archives, about the Fayeks?" Xavier asked and my brows furrowed as I recalled the pages of the lost religion.

"Yeah, they believed that one could split themselves into Mind and body or if they were thought of to be powerful, that gift." I recited before my brows shot up.

"Okay, What can you divide yourself into, gene wise?" My father asked and I thought a moment.

"Angel, human, power" I realized before watching my mothers figure look holographic, three figures of her slightly overlapping as the spread forwards beifre backing back into her body.

"You can do all sorts of things," my dad stepped out of his body, which looked as if it was sleeping and walked over picking up a blade and moving it around.

"Why can't I?" I scowled trying to touch the table beside me.

"Your not focused." My mother replied looking at me with analytical eyes. "You May be fragmented but you need to focus on one thing at a time, such as removing that sword from you." She directed and I spun around.

"You also need to learn how to channel the angels, sort out their voices." Xavier pulled me by my hand to the sword and I tried to grab it to no avail.

"We might want to start her off on something a little easier." My fathers eyes twinkled before crossing his arms. "I'll watch over your body, your mother and brother will teach you." He nodded before my mom walked to the door. I quickly followed beside my almost twin, look alike brother.

"What's that mean?" I asked before wincing at the sight of shadowhunter body's across the floor and following after my mother beside me brother.

"How can I see you?" I asked and he shrugged, as if it was no big deal.

"A fragment of us remains on this world, so I'm not really me. My body just like mum and dad is harried in idris, our spirits or essence goes to heaven and a fragment is left here so that we can visit when we want." He asked and I rubbed my temples.

"Like an angel?"

"What do you think we are Piper?" He chuckled and I rolled my eyes with a smile. "But right now we're on earth but only those who can fragment themselves can see us, you and Clary for example." He chuckled and my eyebrows creased.

"That's right, she's got angel blood like us." I nodded before spotting Alec and Aldertree on the roof trying to crack the panel to sears the angelic power that fuels the institute.

"Do you know the code?" I asked my mom who smiled.

"No, but you do." She motioned me to look at it.

"Alec." I waved my hand infront of him and he didn't hear or see me. "Oh, that's right..." I trailed off, he had angel blood but not like Clary or I.

"Go to the panel, type in the code." My brother pushed me forwards and I stood beside Aldertree. He blocked my view but I rolled my eyes.

"Even if I could touch something, let alone move it, I don't know the code." I scowled and my mother crossed her arms.

"Of course you do, it's locked in your subconscious." She answered and I groaned.

"Well how do I find it in my subconscious?" I growled as Aldertree kept typing on the keyboard. "Why can't you move?" I glared at him as he stepped through my leg.

"Just try and type it in." Xavier suggested and Aldertree blocked me completely from view.

"Gosh if you would just move!" I frusteratedly shoved him and surprisingly he stumbled to the side.

"What the hell?" The man gasped and my eyes widened.

"What just happened?" Alec raised his bow and I turned to a smug looking brother and mother.

"Did I just do that?" I asked before going to the keypad. Slowly I placed my fingers on the screen, letters appeared on the typing bar. What could it be? I tried michealsons, my mothers name, my fathers name, then I sighed in annoyances as the men looked at the keypad as 'nothingness' typed letters on it.

"What the hell is doing that?" Alec asked and I scowled before trying to tell him it was me, not looking at my fingers as I typed they both gasped. I looked back and computer code was typed in before a ding. The institute hummed as the power drained out, yet the lights still glowed.

"Shouldn't the power be out?" Alec questioned and I looked for the answer.

"Yes, that means something else is powering the sword, look up." I did and dark clouds were brewing over the institute.

"Piper." Alec muttered and I swung around before seeing my mother and brother walking through the door.

"Wait!" I shouted running after them down the hallway. I passed Izzy running after valentines men who headed to the roof and watched her take out the bad guys with her whip looking bad ass as ever.

"Izzy?" Alec gasped and my eyebrows raised.

"I'm here to find my Parabatai, clary told me everything that's happened." She muttered before I turned back to the hallway.

Clary was here, I could find her and tell her to...the second she touched the sword it would activate.

As I ran through the hallway I sow the blonde girl and Magnus. "Clary!" I screamed and her head snapped around.

"Piper?" She ran up to me and then stopped. "What are you doing?"

"Clary, pipers not here..fragment, Clary your seeing a fragment of Piper." He grinned proudly.

"Smart." I nodded towards him before turning to Clary. "My body, it's passed out on the floor, Valentine stuck it in my gut. I'm what's powering the sword and the second you touch it my unconscious state is going to attract a lightning bolt." I told her and her eyes widened.

"What did she say?" Magnus asked and Clary rehashed everything I had said.

"Jace, if he touches the sword he can destroy it." Clary told me and I nodded, but I need to go pull it out of me first.

We parted ways and I went back into the room. In the circular room my father stood beside my body. "Diana Penelope, I think it's time we let you take things into your own hands now." He smiled kissing the top of my head as Mom mother did the same.

"Wait, no I just got you back." I frowned as my brother hugged me and I hugged back. "I can't stop him on my own." I said growing frightened as they started to disappear.

"Channel the angels voices, focus them out, or tune them out." My mother smiled before vanishing.

"What-" but they were gone, I stood in the center of the room that was for the moment empty. "Okay, okay you can do this Piper." I paced back and fourth. "Okay let's make a list of things that need to happen."

I looked around taking a calming breath. "I need to get the sword out of me, without the lightning bolt from the sky, I need to get into my body, I need to hold off the storm." I nodded before rolling my eyes "How in the-"

I walked towards my body, slowly reaching out to grasp the sword. I began to pull the sword slowly out of my body as Valentine and his men along cane storming in. Clary was struggling to get away.

If she touched this sword while it was in my body, all the downworlder makes that we're coming into the room would die. "Come on, come on!" I screamed feeling coldness seeping into my arms as I tried to life the sword. Jace ran in and retrieved the sword from my body releasing a burst of gold light.

He had charged the sword, How? I thought he had demon blood? Yet I felt myself being sucked into my body. Suddenly I couldn't see anything but white, hearing the angels screams once more.

Lightning pulsed through my body and I let out a scream. Like a sonar I could sense valentines men and letting a outburst of energy I heard the cracking of lightning as eight different lightning bolts struck them.

However as I lay paralyzed on the ground I tried to pretend the megaphone was a funnel and relaxed, the angels voices turned to a dull roar and I heard them all shouting the same words overlapping eachother. Jace. Angel. Sword. Light. Before everything went silent, I could only hear the left over loud ringing in my ears that was almost as bad as their screams.

It was awful to be trapped in your own body, I would definitely have a fear of white rooms from now on. It seemed like years I was in this ringing white room. Looking around at nothingness. But then I felt ice, no water, pressing around my skin and choking my lungs. It was freezing. My eyes flashed open and I sprung up screaming a scream that ripped at my lungs.

It was dark outside the institute, I stood in the cold water screaming my lungs out as the angels and the white room left me. Magnus and Alec stood infront of the door, I must look absolutely horrifying. Then I spotted Valentine running with the sword.

As I clambered, barefoot and white dress sticking to my skin I saw the sword come to the ground as Jace held a sword to his throat and like lay on the ground injured. Oh how badly I wanted to tear the man to shreds.

"Valentine." My hoarse shout made them turn to me. "You are DEAD!" I have never punched with so much strength. I wanted him to feel pain, before I ended him.

His ribs cracked as he fell to the ground and my wet red hair rained water droplets as I let the sky charge, around us the air hummed and Jace look semi okay with this.

Right as I raised my hand to let a lightning bolt end Valentine's life Clary's voice shouted that we needed him for the mortal cup. My jaw grit in anger before I poured my anger into the lightning bolt, letting its beautiful deadly ness strike the empty field. The bolt itself was green blue gold and purple, so fierce it sent Jace and Clary tumbling backwards. The crack afterwards was so loud that it probably had ringing in everyone near ya ears.

I stood up digging my nails into valentines arm as I yanked him up. "Once we find that cup I will be coming for you." I said so only he could hear me. "And I won't be merciful like this time." I shoved him towards Jace.

The sky now held the sun, shining light down where the surviving downworlders walked outside trying to regroup. Jace has angel blood, he told me all about how Clary, Jocelyn and Valentine weren't his real family as we stood inside the building, my form was still soaking wet with my red hair unruly in its wet state.

"That lightning bolt, it left a black three foot deep scar on the field." He informed me and I shrugged.

"I can do better, but the thing, Jace." I paused saying the next part in a whisper "I can hear the angels, I can fragment myself, and I saw my family." His eyebrows raised, yet I was too focused on myself. I need to help him. "So what are you going to do about it?" I smirked, raising my brows.

"What-Clary?" He asked smiling slightly. "I'm going to tell her." He started walking where Clary was.

"Jace, Wait." I
