My body was still alive, I was still alive. Impossible, utterly and one hundred percent impossible. I stood unscathed, except the smell of burning fabric and smoke. Every nerve in my body crackled with energy and my senses were stuck in overdrive.

"Piper oh my god!" Clary screamed loudly and I moved my raised arm to cover my bare body. I was completely naked, but at least I was alive.

Flashback.

After Clary and I had knocked out Luke, we 'followed' cleo as she pretended to be on our side. As we walked after her down the alley the loud ringing and highpitched screaming started in my hears again.

"Clary!"

"Yeah I hear it too." She gripped me for stability before I glared at the woman who looked bewildered.

"Valentines doing this to us, we know your on his side!" I shouted but whines at the sound in my head causing my ears to bleed.

"What? What's happening?" She asked looking it before Clary moved her stele over the hearing rune on the woman's neck. She cowered at the noise also as it faded out leaving me with a pounding headache.

"That's impossible" cleo shook her head in amazement at us. "The iron sisters only hear whispers of angels when we forge the blades...this...this is a sound of pain." She looked to her feet before back at us. "Valentines keeping a angel, torturing it, it's reaching out to you two." She spoke and Clary, regaining her composure shook her head.

"No, no your with Valentine, your lying." She denied and Cleo looked at her trying to convince her she was telling the truth.

"No you don't understand, an angel is pure goodness, everything a shadowhunter stands for, if Valentines torturing one then we are all in danger." At her words I actually believed her, something about her manner seemed true.

"So take us to him, let's set the angel free." I breathed, following her out of the alley as a truck pulled up and Jace and like got out, luke pointing his gun.

"Stop." He demanded and we all did, except Clary and I moved infront of Cleo.

"Clary, Piper, move!" Jace shouted over the rumbling thunder of the approaching storm. I could feel the humidity off the sky against my skin that wasn't covered by my jeans and sweatshirt.

"No, we need her." Clary moved towards Luke and I crossed my arms.

"Clary and I can hear the angel." This brought on looks of confusion and I shrugged looking to Clary to explain things.

After arriving at the building I drew my swords, the sharp silver blade with the glowing inscription of runes on the flat sides echoed up to the hilts. The iron sisters had modified my twin blades for me.

Clary Jace and I left the two greymark siblings with valentine and I proceeded to stand outside the building with the Clary and Jace. "This was your plan to get in the building, just look at it?" The boy scowled and I glared at him.

"Bitch calm down, I'm getting there." I rolled my eyes taking away the glamour and handing my blades to the shorter blonde girl. "Hold this." I proceeded to hold my carved black and silver bow and load a perfectly straight arrow into it and aim for the fourth floor wall above the window. I shot the arrow and then lowered my bow.

"Great shot, now what?" Clary must get her sarcasm from being around me so much.

"Would the both of you shut your mouths for two seconds and let me do my thing?" I scowled shoving my bow into Jaces chest before shoving my sleeves up my arms. I took three long daggers and grunted, using my strength rune to set them diagonal, three feet apart going up. Next I climbed onto the first floor window seal making sure not to let valentine see me before pulling myself up and stepping on the first hilt of a dagger.

It freaked under my weight but the precious metal was strong as I used the wall to help pull my upper body while moving my free foor to the next, higher up dagger. I had made it to the second story window seal and climbed to the top of it and looking across the alley to the balcony across from me. Glad that I was part angel I leapt he long stretch and barely grabbed the railing. From below I heard Clary gasp before I swung myself up and proceeded to stand on the narrow fence like a balance beam. The arrow was back on the other wall and higher up than I expected.

"There's no way you can make that, the alley was already a miracle." Jace shouted up to me and I grit my teeth putting my faith into using my whole body to jump back across the alley and grab the arrow. I hung by one hand before kicking through the glass window and landing inside the fourth floor.

"Wow." I chuckled, while doing the task it seemed simple but now looking down at them I was astonished that I actually had done it. The alley was wide and the jumps I made...near impossible even for a shadowhunter. "Okay, here we go." I walked through the wall appearing in the alley before accepting my weapons back.

"Piper how did you do that?" Clary gawked and I shrugged taking their arms and pulling them towards a wall. As Jace flinched slightly we passed through and appeared in the fourth floor, heading to the staircase that would take us to the roof.

"Why do you walk through walls or doorways to portal?" Clary asked. "Magnus just waves his hands."

"Do I look like Magnus to you?" Jace snorted.

"Yes."

"Haha very funny." I rolled my eyes at the boy as we jogged the large staircase. "Ya because I'm not a warlock, I have angelic magic, which comes with limits, obviously I don't have wings or a halo so I don't have full magic. So I have to use walls, doorways, solid objects that are my size." I explained as we neared the door to the roof.

"So the roof will be the best place for valentine to keep the angel, so the sword can get hit by a bolt of lightning to destroy downworlders and demons" Clary told Jace who made a face.

"If there is actually an angel." He opened he door to the dark grey sky, lightning and thunder rolling across the sea of clouds.

"There is." I drew my swords once more, looking to the three guards that surrounded he angel who was chained to the grounding of the roof.

We each took a guy who held a sword, the middle man came at me and I readied my blades. He swung and I ducked, dragging a blade across his thighs making him shout in pain, bringing his sword directly down. I rolled to the side, standing and meeting his blade with mine.

A flank of metal on metal met my ears, it was utterly intoxicating. The fight was easy but I enjoyed the dance, letting him think we were equally matched. "Lift your sword a bit on the defense." I pointed out and he frowned.

"Piper quit playing with him and come on!" Clary shouted and I sighed before jamming one of my blades through his rib cage and watching him fall.

We all ran to the angel and the white haired man looked at me with wide eyes. It opened its mouth and loud ringing filled my ears and Clary winced.

"What's going on?" Jace shouted over the loud storm.

"He's communicating." Clary drew a rune on the chains and the angel was able to break them before grilling my wrist tightly.

"Accept it, don't be afraid, you are kissed by light, beloved of the angels." The beautiful voice told me, it sounded young, like eternal life.

"What do you mean?" I asked but it let me go, spreading its wings. "Wait! Wait what's that mean?!" I shouted at it before the air stilled like the sky was about to pounce. The angel looked st me and it was like i was in a trance.

Walking to the center of the roof, a giant crack of lightning cut through the air and I raised my hand to meet it. The cracklig as it touched my skin and jumped down my arm and bathed me in purple shocks of electricity. Thunder shattered the air and I felt overwhelming power jump around me. I heard loud shouting of angels, words mixing together, overlapping and sounds of wings flapping. My whole body was awake and alert every cell pulsing with sparks. Just as fast as the lightning had stuck it vanished, along with the sounds of the heavens.

Currently.

"What happened to your clothes?!" Clary covered her eyes and Jace took off his jacket handing it to me as I quivered where I stood.

"I think the real question is how did you survive that lighting bolt? That must have been what? 30 volts?" Jace reaches out to touch me and drew back flinching hard.

"T-try 1.5 billion volts, there's only 1.5 in a battery-the air around a lightning strike can reach up to 200,000 degrees ferinheight, which is 500,000 degrees Celsius. The temperature at which lightning strikes is five times that which is the surface of the sun. Hensforth-" I was cut off by a jacket coming into contact with my body and I pulled it on to cover my bare skin.

"Clary-"

"Clarissa Fairchild, age 18, born March 31 at 11:58pm in New York. Status: shadowhunter, foreign blood exhibited. Hair color: blonde, height 5'5". Parents Jocelyn Fairchild and Valentine Morgenstern. Artist, angelic powers such as the abilities to bare runes upon skin. Created runes such as sunlight, strong unlocking, gifted with true sight and abilities-" I stopped shaking my head. How did I know this?

"Wait, how do you know all this?" Clary asked the red head who stood, occasionally jumping as a shock ran across her skin. Piper turned, eyes wide and glinting different colors at once.

"I see." Was what she said before going ridged and falling to the ground. Unmoving, eyes wide.

As Jace arrived in the hideaway, carrying a twitching red head wearing only a jacket izzy and Alec ran to the group. Clary has called them to tell them to meet here.

"What the hell happened and why is she wearing jaces jacket?" Alec asked as sparks made Jace wince in pain as he laid the red head on a table of the training room.

"I blacked out, fell to the ground in the middle of the room. Does this have anything to do with me getting headaches all day?" Izzy asked as Clary called Magnus after not finding him at the conjoined apartments.

"What happened to her?" Alec shouted at Jace.

"Piper was struck by lightning...after we freed the angel she dove bombed towards the lightingbolt." Jace answered while Magnus looked over the sleeping girl.

With a snap of his fingers she was in a silky blue hospital gown and Magnus used waves of blue to look over her.

"And you didn't stop her? You just let her run into it?" Alec asked angerly and clary crosses her arms.

"Well she didn't exactly give us a heads up." Clary shot back, "besides, I think the two most importainy things are, how she managed to survive this and how did she absorb the lighting?"

"It appears that Piper is fine, she should wake up any second, The Lightning part however, I'm not sure of." Magnus stepped back and Izzy crosses her arms.

"Add this to the list of unanswered questions we have to take care of." Izzy sighed reaching down to touch pipers hair but the girls eyes shot open, their brightly colored irisis glowing like flashlights before she blinked them to their normal colors, panting for breath.

"I feel like I've been run over by a truck." Piper muttered before being pulled into a tight hug from Alec.

"Try a lightning bolt." Clary chuckled as the tall dark headed boy released her and Piper rolled her eyes.

"That's ridiculous clary, a lightingbolt can't run you over." Jace rolled his eyes, happy that she was still herself. "Besides, I think I'm just going to sleep for a little while." Piper admitted making sure she could wallow in her sickness which she had no idea what it was.

After chilling for two days, Piper had gone into a slump. Izzy has forcibly dragged the girl out of bed and tossed her into the shower.

"So tell me about the mission." Piper called through the shower curtain, Izzy was currently sitting in the sink, scrolling through her phone.

"We're going to kill a horde of shapeshifter demons in a club in south east Indiana." She replied. "Just you and me, I thought it would be refreshing to have just a girls trip. Besides, Clary's off with Simon." Izzy held out a towel which the red head wrapped around her before stepping into the steamy room.

"Okay." Piper agreed walking into her room at the hideaway "what time are we leaving?" Izzy walked from the room checking the time as she headed downstairs.

"Two hours." The raven haired girl called out before Piper shut the door.

After drying and curling her hair Piper ran her hands through the curls to loosen them up. She walked to the closet and found a plunging black top that v to the spot under her sternum. She paired it with a black leather tight shorts and then pulled on thigh high black heeled boots. Neck she used her teeth to help put her leather arm guard on her right arm, seeing as she was left handed and glamorized her weapons.

Her stele was tucked into her boot as she made her way down the stairs before walking into magnus's.

"Don't you look amazing!" The warlock looked over her and she smiled flipping her hair.

Before I could say anything Jace crosses his arms walking in. "She knows." He said before walking to his kitchen. "By the way I'm stayin here at Magnus's tonight..."

"Okay?" Piper said before shaking her head and walking towards the wall. "I'll be out on a mission till late with Izzy." I waved and Magnus gave a nod before I appeared in the institute.

Alec was training in black sweatpants, his wrapped knuckles swinging into the punching bag. Sweat glistened on his muscles and Pipers eyes almost instantly traced hisripped chest to his abs then to the top of his v-line. Mamma Mia, Alec Lightwood was one ultra fine specimen. He stopped the swinging bag with a hand turning to look at her.

"Piper your starring." Izzy stood beside her Parabatai clearly bored, looking at Piper who was drooling at Alec.

"I'm admiring...from afar..." Piper muttered her answer.

"STOP THINKING THAT!" Izzy shouted, knocking the red head out of her thoughts. "Thats my brother" Izzy made gagging noises and Piper blushed walking with her through the hallways to the standing portal.

"You read my thoughts."

"I didn't try to." Izzy shook her head. "It just happens sometimes."

They walked through the purple shimmering doorway and appeared outside a dark club that Oozed loud thumping music. The air was thick and heavy as the two girls walked into the doors. The stink of bodies and sweat mingled in Pipers nose as they cut their way through the mundane, invisible to them. It had been awhile since she had been in a club, let alone being glamours with fresh black runes.
