Walking down the halls of the institute was like sleepwalking before Magnus snapped his fingers and a purple portal stood in the hallway. We made it into his apartment and I lay the comatose boy on the couch, curling into his side. I could feel my energy rapidly fading, to the point where my legs felt like pins and needles.

The hair closest to my face was plastered to the skin of my neck and face from the thin layer of sweat that seemed to cover my body. I was hot but I was cold, odd when that happens because you don't know wether to get a blanket or take an ice bath. For the time being I made myself content with brushing back the dark hair on Alec's forehead.

"Alec where ever you are I want you to know that I'm here." I whispered. "I'm here and I won't ever leave you." My fingers slid to his chest where my hand rested.

"Lilly's in the pond
Flowers in the trees
When you grow up dear
you will be queen"

"Settled by fate dearest
hair of flames,
Light is your blood
Power and strength"

"How do I know this
How do I know?
Because it is fate dearest
Fate of your world" The song came to me, spilling from my lips. I didn't ever remember hearing this until it. It was like a whisper of a memory. Magnus slid the needle into my skin and a light boost of energy kicked up.

"Piper you need to let go when you can no longer move your fingers or toes." Magnus warmed and I nodded, although currently I couldn't move my feet.

Izzy and Clary came in and Jace followed behind, catching sight of his brother. "Alec." Jace said rushing up and I let go, falling onto my back weakly.

He spoke to Alec in a low voice, saying he Parabatai oath. When he stopped Alec's breath hitched, and Piper heard his breath fade away. Jace began to shake, tears forming in his eyes as did Izzy and myself.

"And if death part thee and me-" Alec's voice was faint but still there as he hugged Jace back tightly. The last part was such a whisper that only Jace could hear it.

"Oh thank god." I mummered and Izzy smiled, wiping her tears.

"It wasn't god, it was you Pippi." Izzy took her future Parabatais hand. "You saved him just as much as Jace."

"In the order of the clave, Jace Wayland o sentence you to the city of bones to wait for a trial before the clave." Aldertee came in along with other shadowhunters and seized Jace as Alec leaned back beside me, perspiration gleaming on his pale skin.

"What? No, he saved Alec's Life you Idiot." I groaned but when I tried to move to get up my left leg wouldn't move so I tried to play it off like I hadn't tried to get up. But Magnus caught my eye.

"Be That as it may, he's still a criminal." Aldertee lead Jace to the door who gave in, letting them lead him.

"I need a nap." I groaned resting my eyes shut and sighing a hoarse breath.

when I woke up nothing had changed around me. Except for Izzy was sleeping on a couch across from me and Clary was gone along with Magnus. Alec was sleeping as I looked at my legs, nervously I tried to move my toes, thankfully they moved. I stood up and felt like I was learning to walk before a tight wrist gripped my arm.

"Piper, you think I wouldn't notice that you fried your magic?" Magnus glared keeping his voice low.

"I'm fine, see?" I spun around on my legs and he sighed.

"If you had held on for five seconds longer you might not have been. Your magic, it's almost non-existent now, but at least it can replenish itself." Magnus looked over my face. "If you had burned out all of it, it would be gone for good."

My shocked expression must have told him I understood because he hugged me tightly. "I can't have children since I'm a warlock, but I got to raise you, even if it was for half of your life." I chuckled.

"My real parents would be proud." I smiled and he shrugged.

"Xavier and Elara were my friends, made sense that I would take you in." I chuckled at this. "I should never have given you to Jocelyn, but I'm glad she raised you as well."

"Goodnight Magnus." I said before walking to the couch and waking up the Alec and Isabelle.

"Gosh it's 10 in the morning Piper why are you up this early?" Izzy yawned and I chuckled, as they got to their feet.

"We have to head to the institute, plus, we've been living like vampires for ages, I haven't seen the sunlight for almost two months. Minus looking through stain glass windows." I practically drug them outside.

The sub lit up the sky and warmed the day and I grinned extending my arms by my side and tilting my head back. The sunlight felt like pure goodness sleeping into my skin, not radiating through my bones. I laughed twirling around before sighing in pleasure and turning to face the lightwood siblings.

"Your too happy for this time of day." Izzy grumbled, she hated the morning time. Alec looked at her with contentment, smiling at her joy.

"Your ridiculous." He put a arm out to Piper and she took his hand happily. "I love it."

"Don't say you don't enjoy the sunlight." Piper grinned, although the sun was warm the air around her was bitter and cold as she quivered like a leaf.

"Your freezing Piper." Alec pointed out, as the two walked side by side.

"No I'm not, I'm enjoying the sunlight." Piper spoke, determined not to cover her bare arms so that she might absorb some color into her skin.

"Then why are you shivering so hard that your giving New York an earthquake?" Piper gave him a glare.

"Im not shivering, okay? I'm simply shaking with joy." Piper motioned her hands and he laughed at her before putting a hand on her shoulder, his hand were warm.

"Your skin is like ice." He moved his hand off her shoulder and she groaned.

"Fine, I'm freezing! You win." She glared and he pulled her into his side, her head coming to his shoulder, As her skin stole Alec's heat. She moaned in happiness as she warmed up. "Now I'm warm."

"You know, with all that's gone on we never really..." Alec trailed off looking down into Pipers twinkling eyes.

"Went on that first date you promised me." Piper grinned as they walked into the institute. "How about this bar in Tennessee, or there's a amazing place to eat in Italy, are you hungry?" She asked and he chuckled.

"Starving." He replied, watching her features light up as she began to pull him towards the wall before Izzy grabbed her back.

"No you don't Alec, she's mine today. Remember the schedule?" Piper stood between the two lightwoods, each held onto a arm.

"Schedule? There is no schedule." Alec frowned and Izzy rolled her eyes. Pipers face twisted into confusion.

"You and me split time and Clary gets some too." Alec rolled his eyes at his sister. "And annoyingly, Jace will want some time."

"I choose what I do." I frowned before realizing they weren't listening to me.

"Actually I think it's time that I talked with my daughter." Mom walked up and both lightwoods looked at her with annoyance before walking off.

"I'm still mad at you." I crossed my arms, Clary was the forgiving one and I was the one who held grudges.

"I'm being re-assigned to Idris." She said and my eyes widened.

"What? Does Clary know?" I asked and she nodded before sighing. "And you want me to come with you."

"I know it's a lot to ask you to uproot your life and come with Clary and I To Idris, But I want you to." She told me and I glared at my feet as if they had vomited a crime.

"Mom, I have my whole life here, a Parabatai, Alec, Magnus..." I trailed off and I sighed, if Clary was going I would consider it.

"Well, we're leaving tonight so I hope you choose to come." She put a hand on my shoulder before walking off.

"Hey, Demon briefing in the hub." Clary called and I walked with her to the meeting.

"So you and Mom are moving to Idris?" I asked and she frowned, looking at me in a confused manner.

"What? No, I said I would think about it. Did she ask you too?" I shook my head, sucking in my lips.

"She basically told me you two were leaving and i had to uproot my life or cut you two out." I put my hands on my hips.

"You ready to go?" Alec asked me and I nodded, checking my swords at my sides and then turning to Clary before pouting at Izzy and Alec.

Izzy sighed, turning to Clary. "Since Jace is gone, and we need someone to replace him do you want to come?" Alec asked Clary and I grinned.

"You want me to be a part of 'the fantastic four'?" Clary asked, raising a brow and Piper elbowed the blonde. "Or I guess five?"

"No."

"Yes"

Alec denied as Izzy and Piper said at once and Izzy and Piper glared at Alec. "Okay." Clary agreed and Piper tucked her hair behind her ears as they headed out.

"Clizer is a go." Piper fist pumped the air as the four walked. Alec furrowed his brows at his girlfriend, as clary shook her head with a smile. "What? There's a name for a three way friendship and that's it." Piper explained.

"What." He said blankly.

"There's izzper." Izzy motioned to herself and the red head. "There's clizer." She motioned to the three women. "There's pilec." She motioned to Alec and Piper. "Then there's japer."

"Excuse me?" Alec frowned at the last one, slightly jealous there was another man in one of these name mixes.

"Oh chill it hot stuff." Clary rolled her eyes causing Piper to laugh quietly. "You can't deny they're thick as thieves."

"Mhm, And I'm planning to bust him out." Piper rubbed her hands together before they all rolled their eyes collectively at her. "Shut up"

It was nighttime in New York although the beautiful city never slept. Lights illuminated the night sky and I didn't mind it, it was quite wonderful. The body we were examining had a hole in its chest, heart shredded inside the chest. Luke stood outside the glamour, keeping watch while Izzy and I examined the body looking for traces.

"Come on Fray, lets go look for the thing." Alec gave a slight smile to me before walking off with Clary, he was making an effort for me....or trying to separate her from the group to kill her off. I shook my head, red curls swatting my face, if anything he would deliver her to the demon.

"So Idris?" Izzy asked me and I sighed standing up, helping to put the body on a stretcher as we headed back to the institute, upon arriving Lydia and Raj walked up.

"Yeah, my mom wants me to go with them but lied about it." I spoke under my breath before we stopped.

"Wow his heart is obliterated." Raj joked and I scowled as lydia turned to him. "What?"

"Have more respect for the dead." Lydia glared and he continued to laugh. "You would think that you would have more self control after being knocked out for a whole day from a broken nose and cheekbone."

"I can make it last two days..hm maybe go for a week." I cracked my knuckles, smirking at his nervous face.

"Actually Piper can I talk to you?" Lydia asked and I nodded walking with the blonde, I owed her more than I could give her. I also thought she was really cool. "I wanted to say thank you for standing up for me to Aldertee."

I smiled, hugging her. "Lydia, I would do anything for you!" I said and she chuckled. "I'm being serious, someone says something to you and I will direct my fist to their face. Breaking noses is my strong suit"

"I'll keep it in mind." She smiled to me before walking away. I headed back to my room, walking in I saw my mother sitting on my bed.

"So have you thought on Idris?" She asked and I shook my head in dismay.

"Actually I have, and no I'm not going with you. You lied to me once again, after lying to me about my true life, my true family, and about everything I know about myself. You've stolen my years that I could have had with Magnus and who knows what else!" I shouted.

"Piper I never-"

"No, I don't want to hear it. Your not even my real mom, your full of lies." I shook my head before storming out of the room.

When I made it out of the room it was quite a scene. Lydia was getting attacked by Raj, who was possessed by the demon. "Oh no you don't." I yelled and Alec shot an arrow into his leg, black smoke funneling from Raj's mouth before vanishing into the air vent.

"Lydia, lydia your going to be fine." I nodded pulling her from the ground as Izzy and Clary came into view. We got lydia into the infirmary before we split up looking for the demon. Clary and I went to the basement and began looking.

"Are you going to Idris?" I asked the blonde as we walked through the hallway paths. Clary tilted her head from side to side before looking at me with my own facial expression.

"Are you?" She asked knowing my answer, before I smiled slightly before I took her hand.

"Atleast were staying together." I grinned and she laughed lightly, a horrible situation but a great bond.

"Atleast That." She nodded before we made it up to the next floor. In the hallway Alec sat looking at his bloody hands.

"What did I do?" He muttered before I sprinted over to him.

"Alec? Alec!" I shouted getting his attention. Clary looked at the bloody footprint and slowly we walked into the room. I saw nothing until the last side of the wall.

Mom lay on the floor, a red hole in her chest. Clary gasped and slid down the wall as I ran over to her. "Mom?" I pulled her up hugging her tight into me, her blood staining my white shirt. "Mommy no." I hadn't called her mommy since I was young. "Mommy come back to me please." I didn't cry though, my eyes too dry as I rocked her back and forth.

I lay her down lightly standing up, angrier than ever as I pulled Clary to her feet. "We have a fucking demon to damn to hell." I snarled and I saw her face harden as we left the room.

After five minutes of looking through the rooms I saw Izzy walking towards us, a evil smirk on her face. She lunges for Alec getting him pinned to the floor before Clary ran at her, getting tossed to the side.

I ran quietly behind her digging a dagger into her shoulder hearing her yell. It hurt my own self but I wanted that demon out of her. As I drew back the blade black smoke came from the wound and Clary and I lunges slashing he demon into oblivion.

When it had turned to red sparks and vanished into the floor I let my silver swords fall to the ground, blades disappearing into the bolts as I stood there in shock. Clary and I held eachother while Izzy was held by her brother. After a few minutes she pulled away, simon taking my place as I stood numbly in the center of the room.

Jace walked in and looked at me. He was the one boy who was like a brother to me, actually he meant more-in a unromantic way. Alec was the love of my life and Izzy my sister, clary my twin, but Jace was my best friend in a way that filled the void my blood family would never. He was the one who protected me, treated me like the youngest sibling should. I protected my family and he came along and became part of that, and for once I was allowed to be weak.

"Jace." I muttered, feeling my voice crack as my arms opened weakly. He took one look at me before holding me close to him, supporting my weight as I felt my legs give out. Dry sobs racked my body as he swayed me back and forth like my mom used to do.

"Shh, Shh, it's okay." He stroked my hair, thank god for Jace Wayland.

Alec must have said something because Jace shook his head. "You take care of your sister and I'll take care of mine." At first I thought he was talking of clary but now I realized he was talking to me.

He walked me to the green room where we sat on a bench. "Jace do you want to know he last thing I said to my mom?" I asked and he waited quietly. "I said 'your not even my real mom, I hate you because you stole me from my family."

Jace looked at me with sympathy and I shook my head. "I'm a monster, who would say that to their mother?" I lay my head on his chest and he patted my back.

"Your not a monster Piper, you may be half Angel but your also human." He reminded me But it didn't make me feel any better.
