Piper had gone through the fourth punching bag today and left eight shadowhunters bruised and weak. She let out an angry shout as she punched through another bag.

"Jesus Piper your going to hurt yourself." Isabelle looked at the girl before her. She was drenched in sweat, her hair in a bun with her stele and knuckles pouring blood as she hung another bag. She began punching and kicking the new bag. "Penelope, stop this." Isabelle pulled the red head off of the bag and sat her down.

"Dear lord what happened to those guys?" Jace looked to the shadowhunters getting healed in the hub.

"And why are there multiple punching bags in the trash can." Clary then noticed the parabatai Who was wrapping Piper's knuckles. Obviously piper wasn't handling things well, and of course the source of her problems joined them.

"I just talked to Maryse, she says that she and Robert are going back to Idris?" Jace asked Alec, who looked a bit worn out. Lydia has him on a leash, walking all across him.

"What." Isabelle looked to Alec angrily. Isabelle clearly hadn't been told of this till now, she wasn't very happy with him either. "Another order from Lydia I presume." The tall man boy looked down.

"Who's lydia?" Jace asked and I turned to him.

"The woman from the conclave, who took over the institute and assumes me to be her second along side.." she trailed off, Isabelle had gotten an earful about her brother and ontop of Lydia's 'orders' for mileorn.

"Hi I'm lydia." Lydia held her hand for Jace to shake which he didn't. "I assume you've told them about us?"

My eyebrows vanished into my hairline. "Us" I repeated. Looking between the two. So this is why Piper had been booted out of decision making, they were now involved.

"Alec and I are getting married." She said and I felt anger welling inside me. Throwing down the leather wraps Izzy had forced me to wear I turned and stomped out of the training room.

Pipers main thought was stupid, which she repeated in her head over and over. She needed to be wheee no one would bother her. If only she could teleport away to some far off country like magnus. Magnus would be the one to talk to right now, distract her with some crazy story.

Fidgeting with her door she began to buck into it as it wouldn't budge. "Stupid fucking door always in the way!" She kicked a hole in it, open mouth in shock at her leg halfway through it. Making sure she didn't get any splinters Piper slowly removed herself and peered through. "Shit." It was decently sized and...singed?

Looking at the edge of where the hole was she noticed that the wood had a burnt look to it, still slightly smoking. How was that possible? Reaching through, piper unlocked the door and went to look at the wood scraps on the floor.

All of the pieces had been reduced to nothing but charcoal. Picking a blacked piece up it crumbled in her hand. "Strange." Piper looked down at her leg, theee was nothing special about it.

Clary and I walked with Luke and the newly vampire Simon. Isabelle called me warning me that Lydia was coming after my twin and I looking for he cup. I thanked her for the heads up as Clary turned to me holding a image of a rune. "It protects from shadowhunters tracking." Clary informed me and I pulled my stele from my hair, letting the air burn red hair ripple around my face before drawing it quickly on my arm and letting her do the same for me.

"We need to go somewhere that nobody can find us, that the clave would never think to look." I thought as I spoke before looking at Simon. "I never thought I'd say it but let's go to the hotel of death." But then she jerked back.

"Piper what are you doing, why aren't you coming?" Clary asked her sister and the redhead looked at the blonde girl.

"I've got to get back to The institute, you go, I promise I'll be fine." She tore away from her twin and sprinted towards the institute.

Around Piper the air was cold, but she was warm. With demons and warlocks, faerie and Werewolves she wasn't afraid. This was Brooklyn, this was her city. It all belonged to her, the starless bright sky, the graffitied walls, it all belonged to her. She'd be damned before she let Lydia take that from her, the blonde had already taken her heart, she didn't need the body.

Piper vowed that she would let the events play out, no longer a pawn for the clave or anyone else for that matter. If valentine wanted a game so be it, the ball was in her court, the dice in her hand. A smile fell on her lips, oh he of little faith.

When she busted through the doors it was with confidence, not broken by the three shadowhunters who knew her well.

"Piper what are you doing?" Jace whispered walking over to her as she kept walking towards the bedroom of Clary fray.

"I have a plan, Jace let me do what I'm best at." She whispered to him.

"Piper." Lydia stood in front of me. "Do you have the cup?"

I put on a confused face, I was good at my game. "Lydia what do you mean of course I don't have the-Clary." I made a face of realization. "She's been acting weird all day." Lydia nodded walking along side with Alec, Izzy and Jace beside me as we followed.

"Where are you taking him?" Isabelle asked of her ex. Mile one looked terrified, shadow hunters didn't exactly give off friendly energy.

"A prison transport, to the silent brothers." Lydia spoke and Izzy glared.

"That could be a death sentence to a downworlder." Jace argued, I would argue but in order for my master plan to work I had to follow step by step.

"Do you want to start a war with the downworlders?" Isabelle asked allowing me to disappear into the empty training room. Closing the door I picked up a punching bag and eyed it carefully, kicking it as forcefully as I had kicked the door. Nothing happened, not even a spark. Giving it another kick for good measure I pinched my brow.

Now I felt really stupid, wasting my time thinking that I kicked the door in? What would magnus say about that? Probably laugh at her or tell her to focus her inner chi.

Stopping where she stood the redhead turned to look at the punching bag again. Now the chi shit was bullshit but the idea brought her into a different mindset. Maybe the bag wouldn't explode because she doubted it.

Taking her stance again she cleared her mind, focusing on one singular feeling that vibrates through her. After a minute of hesitation she threw a fist into the bag. A flash of light and a pop sound before the bag had burnt to let the sand spill out.

"No way!" Piper grinned happily, covering her mouth. "Izzy won't believe it when I tell her—"

"Tell her what?" Lydia walked into the room and Piper gasped, turning around to face her. She looked quite tense, not that Piper really cared or anything. But her friendly personality wouldn't allow her to let Lydia be this miserable.

"About getting coffee, but I've just realized that she's busy right now." Piper lied, shaking out her knuckles where the burning leather touched her skin. "You want to go get some?" She could have slapped herself for inviting Lydia to get coffee with her. But of course Lydia agreed.

The only word capable of describing the mood was awkward. Lydia and Piper didn't even look at eachother as they walked to the kitchen. Not a word was exchanged as Lydia poured herself the last cup and Piper started brewing more.

"Can we talk about Alec?" Lydia brought up the one topic that Piper didn't want to talk about. She turned her back to the blonde and focused on the coffee pot. "Listen Piper, it's not like I love him or anything. I know he doesn't love me, but it makes sense. This marriage is good for the both of us." Pipers brows furrowed deeply, squeezing the coffee pot in her hands.

"I really don't want to talk about it." Piper growled as the machine beeped hectically and the wires short circuited. "Fantastic." Piper poured what little bit it had made into a mug.

"It's what's best—" Lydia put her hand on pipers shoulder and piper lost it.

"But he's not happy. He will never be happy. The rest of his life will be miserable if he only loves work." Lydia stepped back, shaking her hand out.

"Ow!" Piper turned as well, confused at what was wrong with her. Lydia looked back up at piper curiously. "I just got shocked."

"Oh.." piper trailed off, looking from the coffee machine to Lydia. Her mood must have a hold on whatever it was that she could do. That's ridiculous, how would she even be doing any of that. "Well I'm gonna go... read a book or something. Yeah." Piper excused herself as calmly as possible and made a beeline towards her room.

Finding her phone which had been replaced too many times, she called magnus.

....

"Piper." Alec seemed surprised as he putt on a longsleeve shirt over his tank top. I leaned against the desk where his stele was and gripped it in my hand. "What are you doing here?" He was just as confused about her calm mood as she was. After talking to magnus he had said that she was gifted, and that he didn't know much about it.

He had also come immediately to see first hand. After a bit of work Piper had decided it was time to use it to help the cause. "I wanted to congratulate you on your engagement." Sliding the stele behind her back she felt magnus grab it.

"Really?" He narrowed his eyes at me and I saw Magnus through the crack in the door motion me. He reached for his jacket and I took his hand in mine. My free hand placed the stele back into the pocket behind my back. "Piper what are yo-"

"Alec, why do you have to marry her? What do you see in her?" I went off script.

He sighed as I intertwined our fingers. "It's a mutual partnership, I'd do anything for my family." Okay now I wanted to sucker punch myself for even asking.

"Well hope it works out." I scoffed, not bothering to try and hide the venom dripping from my voice. I pulled my hand from his and immediately felt emptyness where there once was warmth.

"Great job." Magnus whispered about my little temper tantrum.

"Well." Jace tossed me a leather jacket and I slid it on my arms.

"Jace I'm really not in the mood." I sighed feeling the tarot card on the inside pocket of my jacket and relaxing now that I knew it was safe.

"That makes two of us." Isabelle mirrored my mood as we left the institute and headed to the hotel.

As we stood outside the hotel Clary hugged me then looked between us all. "This is hardly enough people to go against the clave, let alone all the guards."

"What about the Werewolves?" I asked and luke nodded.

"We will help." Luke agreed and summon shifted on his feet.

"I would suggest the vampires but their not really team players." Simon spoke

"I hate to say it." Jace sighed, "but simons right."

Piper wasn't taking no for an answer. "I'm going to talk to Raphael." I walked into the building with the others behind me. Good to know they at least have my back.

"Raphael listen, the selfie and Werewolves are allied with us and we want the vampires to join." I spiked calmly, standing tall.

Raphael chuckled. "You toasted vampires."

"You stole a mundane." I paused. "But that was a different leader, your not Camille, your a new leader, one who makes tough calls and the right decisions for the good of his people." Raphael took a second to think of his choice.

"If the fledgling pledges his allegiance to the new leader the vampires will join the alliance." He decided and Clary took simons hand.

"Simon your not a pawn." Simon smiled gently, shaking his head.

"Your right Clary, I'm not." Simon then turned to the leader. "I pledge my allegiance."

When the two lines of Werewolves stood beside the two lines of vampires Piper was proud. She sent Luke's pack and Clary one direction and Izzy and the Vamps. The other way.

"You ready?" Jace asked and I nodded, we waited until Alec led mileorn towards the portal before Jace stopped him, trying to talk sense into him. Clary came in as Jace wrestled Alec to the ground and Clary took miliorn through the door. As told, mileorn raised his cuffed hands and I shot an arrow breaking the cuffs. After Jace stood up leaving Alec sitting and thinking I went out the side.

I waited outside the hotel where izzy, Clary, Jace and Mileorn walked out. Izzy kissing him goodbye before heading to the institute, claiming to talk some sense into her brother.

"I've heard that you rallied the downworlders and spearheaded the rescue." Mileorn smiled to me.

"All with the help of Clary." I smiled to my twin who put her hands up.

"Pipers the one who came up with the plan, I just came to help." Clary put a arm around my waist and I put one around her shoulder.

"Well, if your ready, in repayment I can help you find your father." He informed us and my mouth hung open.
