I slowly got away from Jeane. She looked at the rune in my hand with an intense stare. If she can release a laser beam from her eyes, my hand will be vaporized a few seconds after I show her the rune.

"I-Is that what I think it is?"

"Ummm, yes? If what you are thinking is a Star Rune, then yes. This is a Star Rune."

"But how? Night Rune only has one child."

"Ah, about that...."

She looked at me with a curious expression. It was like seeing a puppy looking at you while his head tilted slightly. It was cute.

"Night Rune has two children, but only one of his children has been discovered. The other child has stayed hidden until now."

She looks at me right in the eyes for close to a minute. I feel uncomfortable at her gaze on me. After what feels like an eternity, she finally nods her head and says.

"I see. You are a unique individual. Leonardo, was it? I will gladly attach the Star Rune to your body. However, we need to do this in private. I don't want the other people to know you have this rune."

I look at her for a moment and nod my head. If she wants me dead, I will be dead before I can even talk to her. I can feel her mana even though she suppresses it. Her mana is like a tsunami coming at me.

She locks the door and leads me to the back room.

As I sit down on the chair and see her prepare, I say.

"Can I ask you a question?"

"Of course~ You can ask any question you like~."

"Can I ask the reason why you are so shocked when you see the Star Rune?"

"Fufufufu~ It was a rare rune, you know?~"

"Oh, I know. Star Rune is a rare rune, but I also know you already encounter an even rarer rune in your life."

"Oh? What rune?"

"Rune of Punishment, for example. A young Razro has that rune, if I'm not mistaken."

"Is that an offer I hear? I truly want to learn some magic, but I did not know who to ask."

"Yes. It was an offer. It's been a while since I taught someone magic. If you want to accept this old lady to teach you, I would gladly become your teacher."

"This student accepts your gracious offer, teacher."

"Fufufufu~ Then let me finish this before starting our first study."

~An hour later~

"And done. That was the longest attachment process I ever did."

"Are you going to be alright? You look a little bit tired."

"I'm doing fine, my dear student. Just a little bit tired from attaching your rune. Star Rune is truly something else. Lucky for me, Star Rune accepts it as its master and makes things easier. IF it did not accept you as its master, it would take longer. Maybe it will take three to five hours."

"That is good to know."

"Anyway, wait here, okay? I will call my apprentice to watch over the store for me while we go and train."

"Of course, teacher."

After waiting for ten minutes, I can see Jeane walk inside the room with a young man following behind her.

"Leo, this is Haris. He is my newest graduate. Haris, this is Leo, and he will be my newest apprentice."

I nod my head and say.

"Hello."

"Good day, Leo. It is good to see that teacher taking another student under her wing. She may be harsh in her teaching, but she does it for you. Just hold together, and you will become a Rune Master in no time."

"Of course, thank you."

Rune Master? Did she not tell him that she trained me in magic and not Rune Crafting?

"Fufufufu. It is good that all my students are supporting each other. Anyway, I will leave the store in your hand, Haris."

"Of course, teacher. You can leave it to me."

"Good."

Jeane then looked at me and said.

"Then we should get going, Leo. We need to go to the training ground. Meet me a half-hour from now on at the east exit."

I walk out of the building and get into the inn where I stay. After checking out and buying some food from the inn, I walk toward the east exit, where I see Jeane already gathering many people looking at her just by standing there.

When she looks at me, she smiles and walks toward me.

"Leo! Come on, shall we get going?"

Before I could say something, she put her hands around mine and dragged me out of the city. I can see many men grumbling, and I can hear them cursing me.

"What a lucky bastard."

"I'm more handsome than him."

"Look at those breasts near his arms. Tch. Lucky bastard."

She does this on purpose, doesn't she?
