Anushka Sharma as Nazia.

Nazia smiles at Kabir, swinging their hands together as they walk. Her eyes drift past him and his smiling lips to the coffee shop they're planning on going to.

On the wide window, crowds of teens and families pile in with the odd couple or two. The waft of coffee, cookies and tea finds its way to Nazia's freezing nose. Her stomach rumbles in anticipation of drinking the warm liquid and bringing life back into her cold fingers.

Suddenly, she hears laughter amongst the car honks, the chatter of the pedestrians and pigeons chirping. The laughter sounds awfully familiar to her, causing her gut to twist as she puts a name to the sound.

"Do you hear Megha?" Kabir frowns, his eyes scanning the crowd leaving the cafe. His eyes see his younger sister and he allows a smile on his lips. However, it soon falls off his lips when he sees her hand entwined with a man.

Nazia tightens her grip on Kabir's hand, knowing he'll loose his anger when he spots him. When he realizes his baby sister is entwining her hands with the same man who broke his fiancé's heart.

"Megha?"

Her brown eyes snap to Kabir, smiling at her brother. The smile doesn't wipe off her face even after she sees his agape lips. "Baji! Hey," she says. Her eyes sneak a glance at Abeer who watches the couple with a smirk and she tugs his hands to bring him closer to them.

Her eyes watch Kabir's worried expression carefully and the brown-eyed beauty raises an eyebrow. She bites down on her lip, hoping that the brother she loves and respects likes Abeer as much as she does.

Her brown hair flutters to her shoulder and she tucks away the strands with her dark brown hand. "Meet Abeer, he's my boyfriend," she says, waving her hand from Abeer to Kabir. "Abeer meet Kabir and Nazia. They're dating."

Abeer doesn't seem effected by Kabir's skin turning red with anger. Instead he lazily smiles at them both, bringing his hand out to greet Kabir. Kabir stares at it with disgust, his eyes watching it as if it's some toad on the street.

"Out of all the assholes in the world, why would you pick him?!" Kabir exclaims, turning his nose up in disgust. "You live in a world where you could date girls, boys and anything between. You have such a huge variety and you pick him?!"

"There's so many people in the world, majority of them are jerks and you had to pick the most annoying one. Megha, what the -"

"- Kabir!" Megha interrupts. Her brown eyes are same shade as Kabir's and held the same emotion; anger. She takes a step closer to her boyfriend, causing him to smirk more. "What did Abeer do to you? You don't even know him!"

"I know him better than you do, trust me on this," Nazia sighs, her eyes watching Megha's. Megha raises an eyebrow at Nazia's relaxed attitude. Nazia knows that yelling at Megha will do utterly nothing unlike Kabir.

Megha has never been through a rebel stage. She's always been in one. From the moment she could speak, she would always do the option that pleases her rather than the right one. It'll be better to explain to her calmly but Kabir can't control his rage.

"Oh yeah?" Megha challenges. Throughout this exchange, Abeer watches Nazia. Previously, he held a smirk through this encounter but now it changes to frown with Nazia's words.

"I've changed," Abeer mumbles, his eyes only remaining on Nazia's. Nazia's eyes flick towards his, their eye contact lasting long enough for her to realize his eyes held love for her. She ignores it, her eyes watching Megha's as her forehead ceases with concern.

Abeer's words go unheard. No one bothers to say anything in protest or agreement besides Megha. She raises her eyebrow at him and then shrugs. "I'm going home," she sighs.

"You're not."

"You're not muma, Kabir!" Megha rolls her eyes at him.

"I'll call her," Kabir argues. Despite the topic, Nazia finds herself giggling at his childish behaviour. For a mere moment, he smiles and forgets that the harsh wind is blowing against his skin and of Abeer.

But the smile breaks when his eyes glance upon Abeer's smirk. Kabir takes a step foward, tempted to grab his white coat again and finally give Abeer a well deserved slap. However, his dreams fall to the ground when Nazia grabs the edge of his coat.

He looks back to see Nazia shaking her head. "It's not worth it," she says, her voice barely a whisper. Everyone hears her and even Megha nods in agreement.

"What do you even have against my life choices?" Megha comments, her eyes watching the snow beneath their feet. She kicks at the snow and Kabir sighs.

"How can I support your life choices when I know they'll destroy you?" Nazia places her hand in his again, letting an emotion of comfort wash over him. The rage burning inside him dies out, replaced by sadness. It's a lost case, there's no way Megha would believe him.

He looks at Nazia, his eyes watching her with a plead. His brown eyes refuse to move off her, his eyelashes fluttering in the wind even when he hears them walking off. They just simply watch her, trailing her eyes and silently begging for her to let him go.

Despite her petite body, Kabir knows well that he's completely under to her spell. It's not the force behind her hand that holds his but rather the love behind it. The simple gesture warns him it's better to stay and explain to Megha later.

But Kabir can't let his sister go off with a monster. A monster who's only dating her to attack Kabir at where it hurts.

Kabir's mind flutters through memories, flipping through each memory of his and his sister. From her birth, they were inseparable despite the two year age gap. He knew everything about and she did as well. They never had that phrase where they hated each other and always looked out for each other.

Looking out for each other is simple; not telling their parents that one of them failed a test, Kabir killing spiders in the bathroom and Megha telling Kabir what to wear on his dates.

But now, when he needs to protect her the most, he couldn't.

And while watching Nazia's eyes, his heart breaks. His baby sister will have her fragile heart broken. The girl who used to always participate in donations, charities and had a heart of gold behind her rebellious behaviour will break in half. Why else would Abeer date her other than to hurt her?

It's a simple answer to why he'll date her; to hurt Kabir.

Nazia knocked on the door frantically, her red eyes scanning the familiarity of her best friend's door. When the door opened, Nazia dove into the arms of who opened it. Tears began to pool out of her eyes and she tightly hugged the person.

Kabir didn't complain or informed her that she was hugging the wrong person. All he did was awkwardly hug her back and watched as his black shirt got stained with tears. After all, Kabir was a sweet guy. He can't stand tears and her heart broken expression is enough to break is own - even if that person was a stranger.

Finally, Nazia inhaled the scent of the shirt, expecting her best friend's familiar perfume. Instead, she was greeted by the scent of peppermint. Nazia took an unsteady step back, stumbling as she watched the eyes of Kabir's. His arms flew out to her, holding onto her elbows to steady her.

Their eyes didn't move away from each other's. Nazia finally recognized him as Harnaam's cousin, the Muslim one. She had told her that he would be coming over for the weekend although although Harnaam didn't state why. However, Nazia didn't expect the stranger to have such beautiful brown eyes or to be here when Nazia is still wiping her tears away.

"I'll call Harnaam," he said, his eyes still widened from their encounter. The dark pupils hold emotions of worry and they refuse to move off her. His voice was smooth, a sweet melody to her ears. Nazia nodded and Kabir turned around. "Harnaam!"

"Kon aya hai? (Who has come?)," Harnaam yelled back. Along with her words, the sound of running water stopped. Nazia wiped away another tear, her hands flying to her hair. Her hair was flying everywhere, gluing itself to where ever Nazia's tears had landed.

"Harnaam!" Nazia said, her eyes filling themselves with tears. Her best friend walks into the doorway. Harnaam's eyes become wide at Nazia's teary eyes. "He left me."

Harnaam brushed past Kabir who awkwardly stood there and wrapped her arms around Nazia. "He just walked out of - of t-there as if I meant nothing," Nazia cried. Harnaam did nothing but rub her back as Nazia leaned over her shoulder.

Perhaps he's over thinking, perhaps he genuinely loves Megha. Kabir frowns, shaking the idea out of his head. People like Abeer don't love, they imitate the emotions like a mirror and use you until you have nothing to give.

And the memories of his first encounter with Nazia is enough to prove that. He can't trust his baby sister with someone who broke Nazia is half and brought someone so much pain. He just can't trust him. At least Nazia managed to help him keep his cool.

Kabir presses his lips on Nazia's forehead, his eyes closing while he does. "What's that for?" she asks, creasing her brows. Kabir shrugs, using her hand to bring her closer until his left hip is right beside her right.

"Because I love you."

Nazia's cheeks turn redder with his comment. She sighs, her breath leaving a small fog in the air. "You're so cheesy," she says, brushing her cheek against his shoulder as she leans in. Despite her comment, a small grin appears on her face. "Let's get that coffee now?"

Kabir nods, willing to forget about Megha and to be selfish for a few moments.

Yes, I made two versions of this edit XD I purely made it because I was bored, loved Anushka's look in that image and wanted to remake a poster.

Anyways, how was the chapter?

This chapter is dedicated to Meghu, Meghara (I SWEAR IF ANYONE BESIDES ME CALLS HER THAT WILL RECEIVE A SLAP BC THATS MY NICKNAME FOR HER GET YOUR OWN) and Meri Pyaari professor. She's one of my closest friends despite living so damn far. She never fails to make me laugh and we rarely ever disagree on a topic.

If you haven't, you guys ought to check them out. Majority of them look like actual bollywood posters and we're not even going to discuss her on point her backgrounds and pngs and positioning of pngs go. And her plots are so cute and F L I M Y

also on a side note, I've made a new book (and yes, M

eghu_die_Beste is featured in it). It's called Chai with Maya. The book is on uhhmaya and it's going to be an interveiw book. But however, there's going to be a ton of shade in it.
