As the alarm of my room rang, I opened my eyes and switched the alarm off. Wearing my glasses, I poured a glass of water and walked to my balcony to take a view of sunrise.

Even if I sleep late, I could easily wake up before the sunrise. It's tough for me to stay on bed for a long span of time.

Sipping water slowly, I walked back to use the bathroom for daily chores.

Coming out after taking the shower, I quickly wore my clothes and walked down, where I saw mumma and dad chatting and laughing.

The scene was beautiful. Especially, when I know that they're my parents. But one thing I could never understand is- How can someone stay happy and contented, even after so many years of their marriage?

Maybe, that's how much strong their bond is!

But not everyone is same.

Not every relationship is for ever.

"Dhruv?" I heard mumma calling me.

"Hmm."

"Why didn't you sleep a little more? You slept at one last night."

"I just didn't feel like sleeping."

"You can't stay like this, Dhruv. What about your health?" Dad said.

"Dad, I'm a doctor. I know my health very well. Moreover, I can't just sleep leaving my patients."

"Your profession and your patients! Do you ever think about your parents? Your family?"

"Dad I-"

"I what? You're thirty! It's high time. You should settle down and start your family. But here you're busy caring for your work."

"Dad but-"

"You still want to give me reasons for your actions? Just tell me one thing, did I ever stop you from pursuing your career? No. I wanted you to handle my business. But you wanted to go in medical field. We supported your decision. Do you ever care about us?"

"Dad I have no interest in business."

"I understand that. What about your marriage? You're thirty! We want you to settle down as early as possible."

"It's not that I'm dying."

"Wow! I can't argue with you." Dad yelled and busied himself in his phone.

"Dhruv, we don't want anything bad for you. I know your dad is a little hot-headed, but just think about what he's saying. It's been a long time since that incident. You need to move on from your past." Mom said.

"I'm not stuck there."

"I know. But you need to know that not every girl is same. And, we're not forcing you into an arranged marriage. We just want you to find a suitable girl for yourself. Spend some time together, and see what you both feel."

"I don't have any girl in my reach."

"We can find one for you." Dad said and I shook my head in negative.

"I need some time."

"Care to tell us, how much time do you want?" He snapped.

"I don't know."

"See, Anamika, I told you. This child of ours is never going to listen to us."

"Dad, what I mean is, I need some time. I don't know how long but I can say your wish would be fulfilled one day. But I can't promise you."

"Anamika he-"

"Relax. Relax. We'll talk about it some other day. Let's have our breakfast first." Mom said, trying to shoo dad's anger away.

"You're alright?" Vikas asked for the hundredth time while I was checking my patients' file.

"I am."

"But you don't-"

"Vikas! Just don't start unnecessarily."

"I'm just-"

"I'm tired. Just go." I said and he immediately left my room. Sighing, I leaned back on my chair and closed my eyes. It was just enough!

Morning's incident wasn't something new for me.

But it was enough to disrupt my whole day.

"Knock knock?" Hearing a female voice, I narrowed my eyes. Who in this world would say knock knock instead of knocking the door?

Seeing a trolley barging inside my room, I knew who it was. What does she want now?

Not today.

Not anyday.

Never.

She entered inside, wearing a red dress.

I hate red dresses.

"What are you doing here at this time?" I asked while continuing reading the file.

"Dinner!"

"I've already eaten." I lied.

I just didn't want to lose to her.

That too when I'm aware of her plan and motive!

"Then you can eat more." She said and I looked at her with shock. "I mean Divya can eat so much so you can eat too."

"But both of us have different stomach. She has different metabolism than mine." I said and returned to continue my work.

"Then I'll eat it." She shrugged and sat there to eat the dinner.

Don't she feel bad?

I'm clearly telling her to leave.

But instead of feeling any shame, she's sitting here and enjoying her food.

And from that, I now remember that I'm hungry too!

But I couldn't do anything.

Successfully completing the heart operation, I walked out and removed my mask and scrub, changing into my clothes.

"Dr Dhruv, can I ask you a favour?" Dr Samaira entered my room and asked. I nodded and waited for her to speak further. "There's a patient with severe conditions. Can you help me?"

She needs my help?

Isn't she old and trained enough?

Maybe she's not much experienced!

"Okay." I agreed and went to the patient's ward with her as I can't see anything wrong happening with a patient.

After seeing all the problems of the patient, I was about to leave the room but was stopped by Dr Samaira. "Thanks for the favour. Would you like to have coffee sometime?"

"Thank you. But, it's alright."

"Please..."

"Okay. But, maybe some other day." I said and walked out.

"Dr Dhruv!!" I heard someone calling my name but decided to walk further. I knew it was Natasha. "Dhruv!"

Silly girl!

Seeing the dark route on the way, I walked there and waited for her to cross the way. I didn't want anyone to see us. Although there was no need, but I wanted to talk to her to stop following me.

If I'm not interested in her, there's no need for her to run behind me and waste her time.

As I heard her footsteps becoming more clear, I held her arm and pulled her towards me. I switched the lights on. She was about to shout, but when she saw me her body calmed down.

"Dhruv?"

"What are you doing here?" I asked keeping my voice straight.

"Modelling!"

Was she in the mood of joking?

I was clearly not!

"What?"

"I was following you." She said instantly and I widened my eyes. Wasn't she being too fast forward? I heard some footsteps coming in our way but she was hell bent on saying all her mind.

"Shh...." I signed her to stay quiet while she kept looking at me.

Suddenly the door opened and a nurse saw us, who clearly had the expression of shock on her face. She quickly closed the door before leaving.

"Ouch!" I heard Natasha's voice and looked towards her, who was gazing her hand. All this time, I was holding her arm! I quickly left her and stepped back.

My gaze involuntarily went towards her skin which was by the time slightly red because of my hold.

Did I really hurt her?

"Why were you following me?" I asked.

"Don't you know?" She smiled and I looked at her with disbelief.

Is she insane?

Masochist?

"See. I'm not like what you think. I don't even like you." I said but paused as the door opened again. We both turned our face to the entrance and looked there with shock.

"Actually, I need to use the bathroom. I need to go to a surgery in like five minutes. You can continue your stuff after I leave." The nurse said and we cleared the way for her.

That was embarrassing.

No-one ever thought about catching Dr Dhruv red-handed with a girl!

"Seriously? You don't like me? There are hundreds of men in waiting line for me. I like you and you're saying that you don't like me." Natasha asked the moment she left.

Narcissist!

That's the reason I don't like people like her.

"Then ask one of your waiting line man to like you!" I said and went out, leaving her alone.
