"Tell me what's the project about" I said to him, taking a seat on the edge of the table, leaving my short legs to dangle.

"It's a placebo project. We give someone a bracelet and tell them that it causes them to feel no pain, and then make them place both of their hands in a bowl of ice water, and we see if they remove both hands at the same time or one at a time" he said to me, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear with his left hand as his right hand rested on my thigh. "I like what you're wearing." He commented.

I looked down to see my V-neck which had dipped lower than I expected it to. Rolling my eyes I lifted it up slightly. "I wonder why"

He looked directly at my facial features before speaking "you're not blushing" he said, more of an observation than anything else.

"I guess I'm just used to your perverted comments" I responded, shrugging slightly as he grinned.

"You'll blush soon, mark my words" he whispered.

"And what makes you so sure?" I smirked.

He got done onto one knee as I lifted an eyebrow. "I swear to god if this is another fake proposal Levi-" I began, laughing slightly.

By now everybody's attention was on us, the entire room silent. I blushed in response considering, as I said before, there were about two hundred people here - and not including faculty. Levi took no notice however, he pulled out a box from under the table I was currently sitting on as I looked at him in confusion. He opened the box, revealing a silver tiara which sparkled against the light.

"What are-" I began, attempting to question him on his actions.

He interrupted me however "every princess needs a tiara for her ball" he began.

Ball? What the fuck was he on?

"Book girl, will you be my princess for prom in two months?" He asked, a hesitant smile on his face.

I couldn't even form a coherent sentence, I was so surprised by the... Well, surprise prom-posal. Instead of saying real words, which I was sure I would have messed up, I settled for a lip bite and a vigorous nod. "Of course" I managed to say.

He grinned in response, crashing his lips onto mine; just like the first time he kissed me in public, I forgot about everybody else. He pulled away for a millisecond "I was going to do this in a more private area but I couldn't deny a challenge" he whispered. I smiled, softly placing my lips on his again.

"Children!" Mr Wright interrupted, causing us to immediately pull apart as I blushed "stop kissing and get on with the stupid project" he sulked before walking away, probably to the staff room along with ten others. There were literally no more teachers here, it scared me how trusting they were.

"What's wrong with him?" Levi asked distastefully.

"He's just moody that I'm going out with you, he ships me with Blake" I answered.

Levi's grip on my thigh tightened, probably in jealousy as I smirked "jealous?" I teased, expecting denial in response.

"Extremely" he muttered, I bit my lip smiling the tiniest bit. "You should know how much of a turn on that really is" he whispered.

I laughed lightly, pushing his chest away gently as I got off the table. "People are gonna be here any second" I started "what do you want me to do?" I asked.

"Well, since you're a better actress than me, I want you to convince people that this bracelet actually works" he said, placing the bracelet in my hands.

"Okay, and how are we going to get people here if everybody is working on their own projects?" I asked him.

"You aren't the only one who is here without a project to do, loads of people are here to be the guinea pigs" he shrugged.

I pouted, crossing my arms over my chest "I don't think I like being referred to as a guinea pig"

"You're not" he said quietly, placing both his hands on either of my arms "you're my girl"

I smiled and I was sure he was about to kiss me for the five billionth time but I quickly turned "look a guinea pig."

"I guess I could be referred to as that, I prefer my name though" the 'guinea pig' said as he raised an eyebrow.

I smiled "hey Blake"

"Hi Juliette" he replied to me, sending me a boyish smile "what's this?" He questioned, referring to the project.

Levi was suddenly besides me, his left arm casually resting on the side of my waist. "This is our science project" I lied "we came up with a bracelet that stops pain and we just want to test it out"

Levi sent a questioning look towards me as I ignored it.

"How does it work?" He asked curiously.

"Give me your wrist" I instructed as he did as told. I fastened the plastic bracelet tightly around his wrist. "These indents" I began, tracing the bumps on the bracelet with my finger "are positioned extremely specifically. They are meant to slightly numb the pain receptors on your wrist" I bullshitted. "You just place both hands in the bowl of ice cold water for a minute and we see which lasts the longest" I answered.

"And I'm guessing you were the beauty and the brains behind all this?" He asked, sending a flirty smile towards my way.

"Um, not really, it's Levi's project" I replied, slightly uncomfortable.

"Yep, my girlfriends just here for moral support" Levi interjected, tightening his grip around my waist.

I quickly set the timer on the table. "Okay, you have one minute. Don't push yourself to keep your hand in, take it out whenever it begins hurting. We'll be back in literally a second" I said to Blake before grabbing Levi's hand and dragging him to the side.

"Do you have to be so possessive?" I asked, entirely amused.

"Yes" he agreed immediately, "I do, you looked uncomfortable."

"I can handle myself" I responded.

"You shouldn't have to" He muttered in anger.

I smiled "it's cute that you're jealous"

"I'm not jealous" he muttered childishly. "I'm just really protective over you"

I rolled my eyes "are we done now?"

He nodded as I smiled in response, and just as I was about to return to the table, he grabbed my hand and planted his lips on mine. His right hand cupping my cheek as he kissed me desperately.

Once we pulled away, a large grin formed on his face. "Are you done marking your territory?" I asked.

He nodded.

"Can I go attend to your project now?" I asked teasingly as he nodded almost innocently. I quickly turned to Blake, who was looking down at the table instead of me. His right fist was out of the water, the wrist with the bracelet still in the ice water. "You done?" I asked.

He nodded, "your bracelet actually works" he responded.

"Actually-" Levi began as I interrupted him.

"Thanks, it took us forever to get it right" I smiled.

Blake nodded once again, taking the bracelet off and turning around to go to the next project.

Levi turned to me "why didn't you just tell him it was a placebo?" He questioned.

"Because we don't want to risk him going around and telling people, it would ruin the entire project" I answered simply.

"That's why you're the smart one" he muttered, kissing my forehead.

"I'm also the good looking one" I teased.

"Ha, no that's me" he responded, he seemed deathly serious.

I laughed "you don't need to be defensive, look another Guinea pig" I said once again, noticing another boy coming this way. His name was Connor and I'm pretty sure he was in my English class last year.

"Hey beautiful" he greeted, flashing a slight smirk.

I cleared my throat in discomfort, attempting to not blush.

Why were all the boys hitting on me today?

"So want to tell me what all this is?" He questioned, "or we can just stand here, I wouldn't mind just staring at you" he replied flirtatiously.

"Um, this is our science project" I began quietly. "We developed a bracelet that numbs the pain receptors on your wrist and in basic terms you shouldn't be able to feel any pain in your hand" I explained.

"Nice going" he commented to Levi "getting the woman to do the work"

Was that supposed to be sexist?

"So um" I continued awkwardly "you just place both of your hands in this bowl of ice water and just take it out whenever you feel pain. You have one minute"

"Thanks sexy" he smirked.

I'm not even kidding I was extremely close to tipping the bowl of ice water on his head and then murdering him with a blunt weapon.

Like a spoon.

A minute of silence passed, it was pretty much filled with Connor sending me flirty looks, Levi gripping onto me as if by letting go of me would mean I disappear and me looking down at the ground because I was afraid if I looked at anyone I would blush like crazy. Eventually it ended with, once again, the hand with the bracelet in the ice cold water and the hand without the bracelet not in the cold water.

"Well done for creating this contraption babe" Connor said to me as if I actually needed is fucking approval to know what the bracelet worked.

They say the stupid ones actually fall for placebos.

Okay, they don't. But he's stupid anyway.

Once he was gone, I let out a long breath to see Levi's muscles tense. "I feel like I need to hide you behind a fucking wall or something" Levi muttered as I giggled slightly.

"Why are the boys just hitting on me all of a sudden?" I asked uncomfortably.

"I have no idea" he mumbled "but I swear if they don't stop then I will quite literally hit them"

"I didn't even realise they know I existed" I sighed.

"How could they not? You're hot" he muttered absent mindedly as he quickly dried the bracelet and placed more ice in the bowl.

"I look exactly the same as I did a few months ago, they didn't consistently flirt with me then" I shrugged.

"Can we change the topic now?" Levi questioned, wrapping his arm around my waist and pulling me closer to him. There was only about an inch difference between us.

"Of course we can" I responded, looking into his eyes as he smiled slightly. I quickly wrapped my arm around his neck for support as I looked directly at him. "I'm afraid this subject's no better than the other. I need to go to the nurse's office and take the pills I forgot to take before" I said quietly.

"Why are you not taking your pills on time?" He questioned softly, his warm breath fanning my face.

"Because I'm slightly distracted" I sighed "I kind of can't deal with claustrophobia and anxiety and depression and whatever the hell else is wrong with me right now."

"You are so beautiful" he blurted in a low voice, his arms wrapping tighter around my waist. "There is nothing wrong with you. You're perfect."

I sighed "I'm not, but thank you."

I heard someone clear their throat as Levi and I both turned to see Katherine standing near our project. She looked about five inches taller than her usual height, but I didn't have to look at her feet to know she was probably wearing ridiculously high heels. Her hair was now a dark brown, almost black, colour. Her chest length hair now down to her hips much like mine. I couldn't help but wonder if she purposely attempted to look like me. Even her choice of outfit, apart from the shoes of course, reflected something I would wear, as she settled for a black lace dress. It was shorter than I would have worn it as but that didn't make a difference to the fact that she almost exactly resembled me.

She narrowed her eyes at us, looking furious as she attempted to calm herself. "I'm sorry to break this up" she apologised. No you're not. "But I would love to know what all this is" she said, smiling falsely.

I untangled myself from Levi, blushing furiously as I turned towards Katherine. She stood their expectantly as I began explaining the same thing once again. "This is a science project. We developed a bracelet that stops you from feeling pain in your hand and we're just here to test it out. The bracelet has these indents which numb the pain receptors in your hand and therefore cause you to feel no pain" I explained quickly.

She held out her wrist without saying one world, allowing me to tie the fake bracelet around her wrist. She sent me a fake smile before pulling her hand away.

"Now just place both your hands in ice water and we'll see if it actually works" I explained quickly, moving the bowls of ice water towards her.

"And what does this test exactly? Don't you just check it on one person and then you're done?" She asked curiously.

"We just wanted to know if wrists of different sizes affected the actual results" I lied smoothly.

Someone hand me an Oscar, I swear.

"You're a slightly better liar than Levi" Katherine muttered, staring me dead in the eye. She removed her hands from the bowl and took the bracelet off. "I know it's a placebo"

Okay, don't hand me an Oscar, maybe Leonardo DiCaprio.

"Thanks" I muttered bitterly. "If you knew it was a placebo, then why did you even come here?"

"I have my reasons, now if you excuse me, I have to make an announcement" She smirked.

"An announcement? What announcement?" Levi interrupted.

"Just wait and see babe" she said, sending a flirty smile towards him.

I honestly didn't have a good feeling about what was about to happen. I kept my eyes trained on Katherine as I nervously followed her every step with my gaze.

"Attention everyone" she called loudly, effortlessly stepping onto a table despite her ridiculously high heels. "I just want to make a special announcement in favour of our new favourite couple" she smiled condescendingly, motioning towards Levi and I.

We both quickly exchanged looks before training our eyes back onto the devil on the table.

"I just want to honour the couple for dealing with so much between the two of them. Levi especially, I mean of course it was going to be hard for him to find a girlfriend after me, but I didn't think it would be so difficult that he would have to settle for a freak. Why I call her a freak you say? I mean, I don't want to list. But from what I overheard less than five minutes ago, Levi is dealing with his girlfriend's claustrophobia, anxiety, depression and I quote 'whatever the hell is wrong with her'." She smirked.

"I believe Levi deserves an award. Anybody else?" She announced.

Everything was deathly silent.

My heartbeat rang in my ears as I turned around from everybody else's stares. Feeling hot tears spill down my cheeks I ran out of the room, not allowing anybody else to follow me.
