Althea

It's been two days, and today Nate was coming back, Marcl said he was busy, so he'll come over to my house another time, I really hoped that he was taking this heart break in a good way. I've started my work at the bookstore, and it's been going good so far.

Nate texted me saying that'd he'd be here at eight, and to get ready for a date. I smiled and squealed as I jumped in my room.

I had all day to get ready, tonight I didn't want to just wear jeans, and a shirt, I actually wanted to wear a dress, only because Nate said to dress super fancy. I grabbed my purse, and headed out to buy a dress.

As I walked by the stores, there weren't many dresses I liked, but one caught my eye. It was a red, lacy one. Not too revealing, and not too closed up. I went inside the store, and looked for my size, since I had a really small body, I got the smallest size. I wore it, and it was beautiful, it went just above my knee, and the silky fabric, just went so well with everything. The lady came, and looked at me, "date night?" She questioned and I nodded. She must've dealt with customers like me before.

I slipped out of the dress, and into my other clothes, deciding if I should buy it or not, I looked at the price, $200, i couldn't afford a dress I would wear once. I put the dress back, until a hand stopped me. "You're Nate's girl? Aren't you" I looked up to see, a man in his late thirties, he seemed nice, I nodded and smiled.

"Don't worry about it, anyone of Nate's friends are my friends, here let me buy the dress" he said, and walked to the cashier. I widened my eyes, "no no, it's fine, really, I'll only wear it once" I tried to convince him, but he had already thanked the lady, and started to walk out the store.

"Don't worry about it, let's just say I'm doing Nate a favour, he's my boss" he said, in a thick New York accent. I titled my head, "boss?" I repeated. The man in front of me, nodded, "Yea, I work for Nate, with other men, I can't exactly tell you what we do, but he's doing good" he said. I nodded understanding.

"Well thank you..." I paused to get his name.

"Patrick", he lifted his hat, I smiled, "Thanks Patrick, I hope we meet again" I said and waved at him. Walking back home, I hugged the dress in the bag, and felt the excitement in my stomach.

When I got home, I found all my make up and all my jewellery, I set them out on the table, and picked which one was going to wear. I decided on going for a necklace, I got in high school, from a guy, and earrings my father gave me.

My make up— I didn't worry too much about.

Seven thirty hit, and I had already showered, I decided to let my hair down, and wear my everyday make up, I hate it when girls cake themselves with jewellery and make up, its not my style. Once that was done, I hooked my necklace on, and looped my earrings through my ear.

I wore the dress, and it was perfect, I put on my red flats, and looked in the mirror, turning from side to side, if there were any wardrobe malfunctions, that I missed. Smiling in content, I waited for Nate to come.

I walked back and forth, until someone knocked on the door, when I opened it, Nate was wearing a suit, he looked like a business man, a hot one too, I blushed. "I missed you" his deep voice travelled to my ears, I went in to hug him, his arms coming around my waist.

"No jeans, or a shirt tonight?" He asked, and looked down at me, I giggled, "no, I wanted to dress fancy this time" I said, giving him my toothy smile.

Nate frowned, "Well you shouldn't have" he said deeply, and I raised an eyebrow, "why not?" I replied a little hurt.

"Because that dress makes you look tempting, you know me, I could take you anywhere right now, but I'm a man of my word, and I'll wait" Nate's whispered in my ear, red tint, appeared on my cheeks, and I slapped his chest. "Come on" I said, and we started to walk to the car.

In the car we talked about his trip, and how Melanie has been discharged from the hospital, I didn't want to tell him about Patrick, but curiously got to me.

"Who's Patrick?" I asked, Nate went tense, and his gaze went dark.

"How do you know him", he snapped, I was a little taken aback, I couldn't ruin this moment, our date night.

"W-Well, I ran into him today, and he bought me this dress, and he said he worked for you" I said, lowering my voice at the end of the sentence. Nate groaned, "Don't ever talk to him again, he's dangerous" Nate said. I decided not to open my mouth, incase I'd get him more upset.

The rest of the ride was silent, Nate would occasionally, tap on the steering wheel, or cough, and I sat more to the edge, feeling a bit upset that he got mad. We pulled up to a fancy restaurant, and walked in.

Nate's hand on my small back, and my hand clutching his suit. We walked in, and took our seats, all the way at the back. No one was seated in such an isolated area in the restaurant, I guess he didn't want to be disturbed.

When a waiter came, he looked at me, for a good minute, before taking our orders, he asked for my order first, and I chose whatever Nate got. Before taking off, he sent me a wink. Nate must've noticed, because I got feel his legs moving under the table.

"Thea..."
