Mornings have never felt so great as they do right now with Athena wrapped up in my arms. After soaking in the tub last night we dried off and just simply laid down together. Athena being the kind heart she is made sure it was on my left side to where she wouldn't hurt the bruised area.

I would do it a thousand times over if it means her being safe. Something I did tell her in the bath which earned me the lovely blush she does when shy. After what we have done, I was worried she may lose that but I am grateful she didn't. Athena is my light and shy woman.

The only thing I do is take in this time with Athena, as she stirs awake.

"Good morning." She yawns.

"Morning Precious." I kiss her lips.

"What is it with us and not sleeping in? When I don't set an alarm I still wake up as if I had." Athena grumbles.

"Just our internal clocks on schedule." I laugh, earning me a little glare from Athena.

"Yeah well staying up late should warrant for sleeping in."

I get out of bed as Athena does and hand her a clean shirt. She goes in the bathroom to use the new toothbrush I set out for her last night. Making me glad that I have always kept spares, even though she could use mine and I would never fuss about it I mean we have done everything together now.

Together we get ready for the day. It feels strange to have a day off and honestly I just want to tend to anything needed to finish this case up and keep Dason behind bars.

"Thinking the same as me?" Athena looks at me after using a hairbrush from her purse.

Must be part of her line of work she keeps little things like that, where I carry a gun at all times.

"Being off feels wrong." I nod.

"Well, I was thinking of going into the salon just to see the girls and maybe take some walk ins. Knowing them they rescheduled everyone on the books due to the events yesterday. I know they did for me at least. I just hate in the last few weeks we have had to reschedule several times now due to everything. I can't lose my client base."

I step up to her and try to keep my friend down because seeing her in my shirt but her jeans is making me hard again.

"You won't everyone in this town knows what has been going on and I am sure they each understand."

Athena gives a small smile and nods, before grabbing her keys.

"We can stop by and get a breakfast sandwich before getting your truck."

"That sounds great." I pick up everything I need and we walk outside to lock up the house.

"I will keep you posted on things with the case still if you want."

"If you want too. For me he is behind bars right now and that is what counts." Athena shakes some.

I pull her to me before she opens the driver door.

"He won't be able to hurt you again." I whisper and kiss her gently.

"I know because I am safe in your arms."

That makes me smile because it means the world to me on how much she trusts me. One thing I will never break is her trust.

The drive goes by smoothly with some light talking and she agrees to come back to my house tonight. Neither one of us want to be away from each other and the events that has happened has us both just wanting to be closer. So she said she would go by and get some clothes, which makes me happy.

Maybe I can get her to slowly just move her things in? My house would be perfect, sure it is not paid off but I don't want her money. At least I have a house and it is not an apartment that doesn't have bad memories from the break in for her.

I walk into the station and Chief sees me while he is grabbing a coffee.

"Knew you wouldn't take a full day, but at least part of the morning worked."

"I just want to finish what I can with this case."

"I understand that son. It will help to have it behind us all that is for sure. Brit has been trying to dig up an address for that house Dason went on about. Gaperal tried talking with Dason but he clammed up, not speaking a word not even to the lawyer apointted to him."

"That may be all the better then with him not saying anything. Makes his case stick even more to show his guilt."

Chief nods and I sit at my desk.

Brit hands over the file where he has added in yesterday's events and some of the little things he has found.

"Bethany gave us the key to the apartment they shared. Nothing was found last night other than the suite in the closet hidden in some boxes from the window break in."

"Chas texted and said she stayed with Bethany last night." I go over reading that this morning and it made me feel proud of my sister for doing that.

"Not to mention you stayed?" I hint around.

Brit chuckles and nods slowly.

"You like her don't you?"

"Yeah man I do, but she just had this happened yesterday and found out who the guy was after spending years with him. She wouldn't want anything this fast and she would have issues trusting."

"Don't decide for her. Bethany is her own person and will choose what she wants and it could help her. So if she comes onto you or hints around then take her out, because there would be nothing wrong with it and could honestly help her get over things faster."

We both get back to work on finding out who Dason's family is that could have gave him a house or anyone he was close to in years past. Gaperal joins in after filing where he spoke with Dason and got nothing out of him.

Finally I may be on the right track and got the papers that have an address on it with Dason's name listed as the owner.

"Well guys, looks like I found the house possibly." I hand them the paper.

Brit smirks. "Looks like we get to go on a small drive since this is almost an hour out of town. Gaperal what do you say in helping with the investagation here, only fitting since you have since the very beginning."

"Count me in. Let's grab some bags and tell Chief, he may want more people to come with the three of us."

I nod and grab a few things we may need before we get in the cruisers.
