I make it down town to the police station. It feels like my heart is fluttering, guess it could be nerves.

For the longest, I have just brushed these texts off and the phone calls I stopped answering a few weeks back but the person does leave voicemails occassionally.

Never would have thought that it would come to this. It wasn't until today that I got a threatening message and Bethany is right this is the best thing to do is have it on file.

Stepping out of my car, I look around. The parking lot is empty but I still feel weird. Could possibly just be from reading a threat?

With a click of my car keys the doors lock, and I briskly walk to the entrance of the police station. A Officer is walking out at the same time I go to open the door. He holds it for me and I send him a quick thanks.

"Hello. How can I help you today?" A lady behind the counter speaks up.

"I need to file a report."

"What type of report?" She continues to look at me.

"I am not sure. Possibly harassment?"

"If you don't mind having a seat and I will get an Officer to come speak with you."

"Thank you." I nod and move over to the chairs.

I hold onto my phone and purse in my lap. I won't let the phone go, but can't bring myself to even look at it currently. Glancing around the station, it seems quiet and not like I would have thought it to be.

A Officier walks out of one of the large doors and looks around.

"I was informed you need to make a report?"

I stand up and nod my head some. "That would be correct. Possibly a harassment report, I am not sure what it would techinically be filed under."

"Well, let's have seat here and go over everything. Unless you believe this needs to be in a more private area?"

"No. Here will be fine. There isn't anyone else here anyways." I sit back down in the chair.

"Why don't you start with the beginning of what is troubling you to be here?"

Taking a deep breath, I hold my phone tighter.

"A few weeks ago this random number started calling my phone. After the first few times I answered but it was nothing but heavy breathing. Then it got to where I recieved texts too from the same number, but never responded. I even tried to block the number but then a different one popped up and the same thing."

"What did the messages say?" The Officer asks, writing everything down.

"Not much honestly. They were always a basic greeting. That was until today I recieved a threatening message."

The Officer looks up. "What were the exact words of this threat?"

I unlock my phone and bring it up.

"You need to learn to talk to me and not ignore me. Or else you may not have vocal cords left."

My hands shake some and just hold my phone out to the Officer. He takes it and looks at it for a moment.

"Is this everything on the phone? You have not deleted anything?"

"No I haven't. I don't spend much time on my phone to even see it much."

"I am going to take and make copies of all of these messages and any phone calls the caller has made. I will have the phone number and we can see if I can trace it to a person or if it is a burner. Write down you name and phone number here for me, while I start to work on getting all of this from your phone sent to my email."

I take his pen and paper, writing down the information he wants from me.

The Officer hands my phone back. "Thank you Ms. Greg. If you receive any more of the texts messages, forward them to me in a screenshot version to this email. That way I can keep adding to the report if it continues. As of right now until we know if this is coming from a burner phone or not there is not much we can do."

He hands me his card with the email.

"Do you think you may know who this can be? Anyone that would have your personal number?"

I shake my head.

"No , I don't know of anyone. I have had this number for years when I lived out East, but I don't hear from anyone but my parents occassionally."

"No old boyfriends from your past or anything?" The Officer continues.

"No, Sir. The few relationships I had never ended badly and they are actually married to others." I think over the two guys I ever dated, but that was it.

"I will get this wrote up and see what I can find out. For now the best thing to do is just keep acting normal and do your daily activities."

"Thank you." I stand up and the Officer shakes my hand.

I walk back out of the station and to my car. I unlock the door and sit in the seat. Going to look at the time, there is still a couple of hours the shop will be open. So, I make my way back there to finish out the day.

Making it back, I walk in and go to my station to put my purse up.

"Did you get it made?" Bethany asks right away.

"Yes and for now just send things to the Officer and go on living my life like normal."

Bethany shakes her head. "Do you want me to stay with you for a few days?"

"No girl, I will be fine. Besides, Dason may not know what to do if your not home with him." I smile at her.

Bethany met Dason not to long after we moved here and I have been happy she has found love. Something I can hope happens for me one day.

Sure, I have dated but it never even went to second base with either. One of them learned they prefer the same gender and the other wanted to go to a far away college so we ended as friends. I am happy for both of them too for chasing their dreams, because I have done the exact same thing.

I am still at the young age of twenty-four so I have time and by no means rushing for a relationship. It just does get lonely not to share life with, but a pet goldfish.

Hey Hey Guys!!!
