"Sadé! You ready?! We finna go!" Kash heard her brother call as she zipped her last bag. As usual, Kash was the last packed, the last dressed and the last to be ready to go.

"Yes! I'm coming!" she called, grabbing her rolling suitcase and her duffle bag—and her toiletry bag before rushing down to the living room, were everyone was waiting on her. Khyren, Ava, Aryn, Nevaeh, her boyfriend, Adonis and Kasiah were waiting on her. "Sorry," she cheesed.

"Girl come the hell on," Khy shook his head, taking her bags from her and taking it to his truck. They were taking Khy's truck because it could seat all of them very comfortably, without any fuss. The back row may be a little tight but nobody really minded it was just about a two hour drive.

"Can I sit in the back?" Kash asked, running her fingers through her hair.

"You late, shorty. I called it," Kasiah said, looking at his phone.

"First of all, this is my brother's car so if I wanna sit in the back I can do that even if you called it—secondly, there's three seats in the back," she rolled her eyes.

"I'an say you could sit wit' me tho," he looked up from his phone, smirking, knowing he was getting on her nerves.

"I don't wanna sit with you, Kasiah, I wanna sit in the back of the truck, you just so happen to be sitting your ass back there," she shot back.

"Aye! Don't start y'all shit!" Khyren called. "Both y'all ass sitting in the back, Aryn sit with them please, thank you. Donny, Vaeh,, Malik y'all in the middle, me and Ava up front, Na' get in," he spoke, making the two of them roll their eyes.

Everyone loaded in, Kash in the middle of Kasiah and Aryn, already mad because she wanted the window but she had the shortest legs of three and was forced to sit there.

"Where's my car blanket so I can go to sleep—Ava! That's mine," she called up front seeing her unfolding the blanket she kept in here. "Y'all know I get cold easily don't play me,"

"My bad, pooh," Ava giggled and they passed it back to her. After that and a short prayer for a safe trip, Khy pulled out of the driveway, the group was off for what would hopefully be a week of relaxation.

And for Kash—a new beginning.

"Siah can you tell Khy to get me sprite, please. And some gummy worms," Kash yawned, leaning on Aryn's shoulder as they stopped at a gas station for snacks.

Their short two hour drive had already been two hours and they were still an hour away thanks to Atlanta traffic. Everyone was starting to get restless and annoyed from simply sitting still in traffic so Khy took the liberty of stopping for a stretch and some snacks.

"No," he said, climbing out of the car, and closing the door before she could protest.

"I hate his stupid ass," she grumbled and Aryn laughed. "It's not funny!" she chuckled.

"Y'all argue so much it's comical at this point. You know he's gonna tell him," she pointed. It was true, she and Siah argued like Tom and Jerry, always fussing and over the stupidest things.

"Whatever," she giggled. "So! Who's this we're texting? New or old?" she smirked.

"Chile—you in my business?" Aryn cut her eyes at her friend. "Only you can do that. Anyway, girl this Antonio ugly ass try suck up and be nice now. I told him I don't do taken men! He tried to tell me I got niggas, like plural I said bitch okay? I don't have a man, though. I am single, so I date," she explained to Kash.

"Exactly, that's different than having a girlfriend and dating, see this why you can't talk to soundcloud rappers, pooh. Especially not from Atlanta, they think they Quavo. All of em," she teased.

"I should have known when he wanted me to call him by his rap name like little boy—you should be glad I'm calling you by your middle name, Cephus,"

"Not Cephus—my nana daddy name is Cephus," she cracked up. Aryn was happy to see her best friend laughing and smiling like she usually would. It was a sight that she missed, and while she still had bad days, this was what she wanted to see.

Five minutes later, everyone returned to the car, Siah got back into his place next to Kash, handing her a bottle of sprite and a bag of trolli sour gummy worms, like she wanted.

"Thank you," she cheesed. "Thank you, Khy!" she called to her brother.

"Huh? For what?" he caught her eyes in the rearview and she raised the snacks before quickly jumping back into conversation with Aryn, missing him furrowing his eyebrows and shrugging before turning away.

"This is still so nice," Kash sighed with a short smile as she went back outside to the freshly cut grass after walking around her Grandmother's childhood home. As it started to get older, her children maintained it, so it stayed clean and put together.

She was already feeling refreshed by the air here, it brought back memories of her staying here as a kid during the summers, running around barefoot and begging her grandmother for piece of fried chicken fresh out of the grease.

"And you still look dumb standing here wit' no damn shoes on Sadé, go inside," Khy fussed, as he always did when she did this as a child. By the way they interacted, you'd never guess Khyren was only a year—eleven months and a few days exactly, older than Kash.

"You're not the boss of me, Ohaji," she sassed, sticking her tongue out at him. "But Ima go, because I want to," she quickly said as he reached to pluck her forehead. He shook his head and followed her into the house.

Everyone was in the living area as they'd all just picked their rooms for the week. Aryn and Kash chose the rooms right next to each other, Kasiah was down the hall from them and Donny next door to him. Ava and Khy snatched the master, and Neveah went and took the biggest room on the second floor while everyone was on the top.

"Y'all hungry? I'm hungry," Sadé picked at her hangnail.

"Stop that shit," Khy pulled them apart knowing she'd pick until she bled.

"Sorry," she smiled innocently. "Anyway! Y'all hungry or no?" she looked around and everyone nodded and responded yes. "Okay! Waffle House it is!" she stood to her feet.

"Can we just order something? I don't wanna get in that car again today," Vaeh complained.

"Order what? Sis we in the country ain't nothing delivering here except that one pizza place and that's like ten miles away," Khy explained. "We gon have to go pick that up regardless. Best bet, we go to the store and cook,"

Everyone looked around at each other, seeing who wanted to get up and drive back out to the grocery store.

"I'll go," Kash chuckled, knowing they'd sit there starving if she didn't volunteer. "Aryn come with me," she held her hand out to her best friend and she took it, allowing Kash to pull her up off the couch.

"If y'all want anything specific, text me and cashapp me please," she called while walking out of they door and everyone called back am okay as the door closed behind the two girls.

"Adonis gets on my damn nerves," Kash grumbled as he picked up another bottle. They had finished at the grocery store and they thought they did a fairly good job, buying food for cooking and lots of snacks. Now they were at the liquor store, and Adonis kept adding things.

He was paying, so she wouldn't complain, but Kash and Aryn certainly looked like some grade A alcoholics with all these bottles.

"Well we gon be lit, I know that," Aryn laughed as they pushed the cart up to the front.

"This gon be all for you two?" the clerk asked, and Kash said yes, already sliding her ID across the counter, because she could see the doubt in his eyes. She hated when people did this to her in public, she was almost twenty two, she knew she had a baby face but she was far from a baby.

He picked it up, looking between the ID and Kash a few times. "When's your birthday?" he asked and she instantly got annoyed. He clearly thought her drivers license was fake, and she thought he was an idiot.

"April 24th, I got the license on December 8th 2016 and it expires December 8th, 2026, thank you," she said, holding her hand out for it back. "I can tell you the license number if you're suspicious," she spoke.

"No ma'am, that won't be necessary," he smiled and she sent a sarcastic one back before paying for the liquor and helping Aryn grab bags to leave.

"You looked like you was finna kill him, friend," Aryn chuckled as they hopped back into Khy's truck to drive back to the house.

"He was irritating the fuck out me, they got pictures of fake ID's back there," she rolled her eyes.

"It's fine sis, we got what we needed, we going home," she waved it off. Aryn was the more calm of the two to a point. It was much easier to irritate and frustrate Kash, and she was more outward with her emotions and feelings. Which her brother and father called sensitive. Her mom just always said she felt differently than most.

"Yeah," she huffed. "I hope Ava make something good, I'm starving," she changed the subject as they continued on their way.

After Ava made some wings, and fries at her boyfriends request, everyone ate and went on to relax separately for the rest of their days.

The whole reason Kash picked this room, not only because it was her childhood bedroom, this one had a balcony. She was able to sit outside on the chair her nana bought for her, with a blanket and look out at the beautiful view behind the house.

They weren't far from Toccoa Falls, and when it was especially quiet, Kash could hear it. With all the negativity that had been clouding her these past three months, this was what she needed.

She took a deep breath in and released a shaky breath, closing her eyes and tried to shut her mind off, at least for right now.

Three days into the trip, Siah was completely relaxed. It was currently 10:30 in the morning and he was smoking with Ava, who was the one who invited him to do so.

"So, I just wanted to say sorry for being nosy," she sighed. "I just—Camille was going through a hard time after her breakup, and you were the first person she liked since. I kinda got ahead of myself and got pushy, so I'm sorry Siah," she explained after passing the blunt to him.

"You good," he nodded. "You was tryna be a good friend to her, I get you,

"And to you," she giggled.

"And to me, I guess," he chuckled. "But nah, we good. I wasn't mad at you you, sis," he shrugged, handing it back.

"Stop lying," she laughed. "It's okay if you were, I was being a weirdo, but we past it now. Thank you for accepting my apology," she smiled and he nodded. "You having fun?" she asked as they heard the back door slide open.

"Mhm it's cool out here," he nodded as Kash came downstairs off the deck.

"Oh! Sorry y'all, I didn't know you were out here," she said quickly, getting ready to turn around.

"It's okay, pooh!" Ava said. "You okay?" she asked knowingly.

He took that time to take in her appearance. She wore a big t-shirt, and had her hair tied in a ponytail with her scarf on, and some slides covering her feet. She didn't look happy but he didn't know whether she wasn't, or she was just tired.

"I'm fine, just having a day. You know? I was just gonna sit. But, Ima leave y'all to it," she smiled softly and rushed back up the steps and inside.

"My poor baby," Ava pouted. "I really hope she feeling better soon, breakups really be a bitch them first few months," she sighed.

He nodded, understanding. He hadn't been through one as bad as Kash, he hoped he never would. She genuinely seemed broken up. Every time she seem she seemed better, it got worse the next day.

After they finished smoking, and Siah was high, he was starving, and there was nothing to eat. He didn't feel like cooking because if he started now, he'd have to feed everyone, but it looked like he had no other choice since everyone else was lazing around the house.

"Lazy ass niggas," he chuckled, looking for something to make.

Luckily, before she passed, his mom taught him how to cook. He was always following her around the house, even in the kitchen and she decided she'd teach him a few things while he was being her little shadow.

So, on Sunday's when she made a big dinner, he would help. When she made a big breakfast, he was right beside her scrambling eggs or watching the bacon. He didn't particularly love to cook, but he loved spending time with his mom, and even now after she passed away, cooking helped him feel close to her and clutch on to her memory.

"Oooh, Siah you cooking?" he heard Aryn's voice as she came downstairs. "I'm not talking to you, Davon," she looked down at her phone rolling her eyes playfully.

"Mhm, you hungry?" he asked. He liked Aryn, she was very chill, and stayed to herself most times. He knew she and Kash were good friends, he thought they balanced perfectly.

"Starving," she exaggerated and he chuckled with a nod.

Eventually, as the aroma of breakfast wafted throughout the house, everyone started leaving their rooms and coming downstairs, Kash and Nevaeh even clearing and setting the table.

"This looks good, Siah. Thank you," Sadé said as she sat at the table after washing her hands. Everyone else agreed and Donny said grace so they could start making plates. "It is good," she mumbled to herself this time.

"Thanks, Brat Brat," he smirked and she gave a sarcastic smile back.

She and everyone else ate quietly, and Siah took pride in that, his mom always told him that good food will have a table full of people completely silent.

"Aight so...I'm finna go back to sleep," Vaeh's boyfriend said, making everyone laugh, but his girlfriend stood right back up with him, knowing she was tired too.

Everyone else decided to watch a movie on the tv down in the basement , but that didn't last too long before the it is hit them all hard and they were knocked out again.

Later that night, the group, minus Kash, was playing a game of would you rather, which included shots. Kasiah had done a lot of things and he was already mad at the amount of shots he was about to have to take.

"Never have I ever," Adonis spoke, and everyone knew he was about to say something nasty or stupid. "Had sex in a public place," he smirked. Siah rolled his eyes and took his shot as well as Malik, Neveah and Adonis himself.

"Kasiah!" Khy gasped in fake shocked.

"Shut up," he chuckled.

"You freaks," Ava continued playfully and, Khy nodded, hand to his chest as if he were disappointed in them.

"Freaks they say," Aryn scoffed. "Their bed is down the hall from me and I can still hear—"

"Shhh!" they both shushed her, Khy slapping his hand over her mouth, while she shook her head disapprovingly.

The game went on for a while longer, just as Siah thought he had to take a shot for nearly every question and it shocked someone every time. Luckily though, he could hold his liquor so he wasn't that drunk. He was drunk enough though.

"Siah is tired of y'all shit," Aryn laughed.

"Nah y'all good," he chuckled, blinking slowly. "Y'all just gotta stop acting fake when I take my fuckin shot, I'm grown as hell,"

"And nasty as hell," Donny remarked, making Siah throw his middle finger up at him. "Don't be mad at me because you had a crazy ass girl wylin' in front of yo' daddy house," he joked, referring to one of the earlier shots.

"Oh my—it was one time, shit," he huffed and everyone died laughing.

After their game, Kasiah was well past drunk and wanted nothing more than to pass out in his bed, which was exactly what he did, more than ready to sleep till the sun rose the next morning.
