Chapter 3

"What do you mean?" I asked, very interested.

"You see there's a competition held once a year. Anyone can join and those who gained the most points on that period will win. The reward is you get security from the school until you're permitted to leave this academy and I tell you they do have the best security here. Why else would we be staying here?" I nodded at Ria. Wow, I didn't know competitions like this happen.

"And aside from the huge amount of gold, you get to go home anytime you want and still come back here," Nessa told me excitedly.

"We both tried every year but it was so hard, with everyone here wanting to win."

"Who won the last time?" I asked.

"There could only be one girl and a guy that could win. Last year it was Anastasia and Prince Eric James Thamos Caylanders, but I doubt Anastasia didn't cheat. She tried to win the year before but had been tricked by none other than Prince Lucas," Ria explained. I raised my eyebrow at this. Prince Lucas just won last, last year which means he wasn't a very old student but then he could also be but hadn't had the chance. For all I could know he could be a creepy old man.

"That's why there were two princes that won last, last year instead of a prince and a princess." Nessa clapped her hands.

"And who they might be?" I asked.

"Prince Lucas and Prince Gavier Dracus Rivera Czarkshaw." Nessa exclaimed.

"Speaking of which."

Three very handsome guys suddenly appeared and I gasped. Well it's not every day you see three super-hot and sexy models. You could really tell that they came from a royal family by how they walked and sat down. What caught my eye most was the dark-haired one, he had very piercing blue eyes and a sinister sarcastic smirk, almost as if he was sneering at everyone. On the other hand the blonde haired one with green eyes looked like the one you would call a prince charming. He had a smile that would melt you to your knees. Lastly the red haired had a mischievous air on him, he had been winking to girls and looking at their legs like a pervert. I was so glad I covered my legs or I would've punched the daylights out of him.

"The one with the red hair is Prince Eric. He's the one who won last year. The dark haired one is Prince Gavier Czarkshaw who also won the game the last time and the blonde haired one is the prince you've been asking about. He is Prince Lucas."

I was astounded by what Ria said. "That's Prince Lucas?"

"Yes! Isn't he so handsome and great?" Nessa exclaimed.

"I was just shocked. I mean I thought he would at least be a little older than that."

"That's why everyone was surprised when they heard the rumor about him selecting you personally."

I stared at the handsome young prince. "I don't even know him. What made him choose me?"

"We're all on the same page. On the other hand we've been chatting here for so long, let's go."

"Right, I also need to go to the bathroom." Nessa agreed while I nodded. I have more problems than to bother about that prince. We all stood up, leaving our mess on the table and walked side by side out of the dining hall. I could feel the eyes on us but there was one distinct stare that made me feel chills on my back. I looked back and locked eyes from what I presumed was Prince Gavier Dracus Czarkshaw. He held my gaze, scrutinizing my appearance then finally scoffed after Prince Lucas interrupted him. Prince Lucas smiled at me as if he had been waiting for me and then suddenly they all stood up and began walking to us. Not good.

"Let's hurry guys." I held both my friends' arms and walked faster on the hallway.

"What's the hurry?" Ria asked as Nessa trudged to keep up.

"Let's just go faster, I'll tell you guys later." I don't know why but I had a feeling that if I talk to any of these princes, things would get more complicated.

"Wait, Ms. Valdez!" I heard someone cry.

Nessa and Ria gasped when they saw who was coming. I urged them to go on but they stopped me and even pushed me forward while they backed away from me. Thanks guys, really thanks for leaving me.

I inhaled deeply, calming myself down, knowing I had no choice. I finally looked up and saw Prince Lucas smiling at me. "Finally caught up to you Clarissa. I just want to know how you're doing."

I smiled at him uncomfortably. First of all I didn't really know how to act before a prince. What should I even call him? "I'm fine your majesty." I bowed my head and did a little curtsy.

He laughed as the one called Prince Eric snickered at me. Prince Gavier just rolled his eyes at me, yep he rolled his eyes. What?! What the hell was his problem?

"You don't need to be so formal. Everyone calls each other on first name basis here." Prince Lucas chuckled.

"Thank god for that." I sighed, feeling more comfortable now as he looked back at me amused.

I remained my stance and reminded myself again that he was the reason I was here. "So was the rumor true that you personally selected me to come here?" I asked, trying to sound polite.

"Yes, that's true." He looked back at me confused. "You don't remember me do you? Oh god, you don't." He laughed again.

"Wow Luke, she doesn't even remember you." Prince Eric laughed while Prince Gavier groaned.

"Want to make me remember then?" I urged him to tell me.

"Don't even bother telling her, a girl like her won't remember." Gavier spoke up.

"Hey, he hasn't even tried yet," I snapped at Gavier and he finally looked at me with those piercing eyes.

"Whoah, I think this is the first time a girl talked back to Gavier!" Eric hooted.

"I second that but Gavier, don't scare Clarissa away." Prince Lucas patted him at the back and mouthing 'sorry about that' to me then he rubbed the back of his neck. "Actually it's a long story and I plan to make you remember yourself. I'll give you a clue though, the word's 'burger'." He winked at me, giving me flutters inside although none of his words made sense at all.

"If there's no more business happening here let's go lads." Gavier immediately dismissed me, he wasn't even looking at me. What a grump.

"What? There's still time—" Prince Eric began but stopped when he saw Gavier's glare, "Anyway you can call me if you need anything Clarissa. And when I say anything, I really mean anything." He wiggled his eyebrows. I almost slapped him but stopped myself in time. What a perverted prince!

"I'll see you around Clarissa. Just call me if you remembered anything in particular." Prince Lucas said and started walking away alongside Prince Eric.

"Wait—"I still had so many questions.

"What do you want now?" Gavier growled, stopping me with an annoyed look on his face, "Just because you think Lucas is nice, you can go friendly and touchy with him huh? That's the thing with you girls, just because a good-looking guy is a little kinder to you, you immediately throw yourselves at him."

What!? Who does this guy think he is?! "Are you implying that I'm a slut?!" I almost shouted, my fists clenched. Prince Lucas and Prince Eric finally stopped walking, realizing that Gavier wasn't with them. When they had turned around Lucas was looking at me with a concerned look while Eric just smirked in amusement.

"Yes." Gavier didn't even hesitate, "Now scram and don't even bother any of us again. Even if you sell yourself to me, don't think you have a chance coz I won't give you a single dime, slut."

He started walking away leaving me speechless. "It's fine guys, we're just having friendly conversation."

The two other boys nodded looking a bit confused and then the three of them began walking away.

For a moment, the whole world was void and all I could think of was Gavier's insults echoing in my head. He just told me I'm a slut. A freaking slut. I had never felt so disrespected before. It felt like I was going to burst inside, I could almost imagine smoke coming out of my ears. I think it was the first time I was too mad to even care of the consequences. In fact I didn't even think of anything else. All I could think of was wringing that jerk's neck. And so that's what I did.

"You arrogant prick!!!"  I screamed, charging full speed at him. Boy, I was so mad, and the prick didn't even turn his head, he kept on walking as if I didn't just scream which made my madness grow ten times fold.

I always used my head before I act but my head wasn't even functioning, all it said was 'Kill! Kill! KILL!'. This has never happened before but there's always a first for everything and so might as well indulge in it.

I was a few steps away from the prick, there were noises around, people whooping and gasping but all I could see was his broad back. Oh, he wasn't going to turn around huh? Even better. Furiously sprinting, I jumped on his back and just full on went to shish-ke-bab mode, probably looking like a psycho.

Great, now everyone's going to think I'm crazy.
