The beginning of this book will move kinda slow, but please give this a chance.

Yeah this chapter is pretty bad, I kinda wanna scrap it.

Update! So since Vampires AREN'T REAL and I have my own interpretation of Vampires I will be "creating" some powers and perks that I wish vampires would have into my story.

For future readers: there may be a lot of spelling and grammar mistakes in later chapters that I have not noticed. If you come across please don't fail to let me know

I've come to realize how cringe this chapter is because I was trying to use language I was unfamiliar with.

Update July 8th 2021, as of today I

Recognized how fast this book is growing. I have been getting a shit ton of notifications for my book when I haven't seen At Least one notification in a good month. Also I've gained At Least 10k reads in less than 24 hours. Can someone tell me what's going on? Is wattpad finally promoting small books/writers or something? I've never gained so quickly

Jason

"Jason!" My father's voice boomed throughout our home.

I quickly zoomed into his room to see what was going on.

"Yes father." I greeted him with a bow.

"Are you ready for tonight my son?"

"We still didn't get them father? Are the ferals still loose?" I was confused.

I could have sworn Hunter and I have got all that we can the night before. How could they still be running loose?

"You did Jason, and you did a spectacular job. However, someone keeps turning random civilians without my permission, ultimately resulting in those turning into ferals due to their lack of resistance towards human blood."

I groaned in annoyance as I realized this meant more innocent people have been dying due to the irresponsibility and vindictiveness of our kind. The ones who are turning people into ferals happen to be the ones holding a deep form of regret and instead of going to the root of the problem they take it out on humans.

Recently humans have been getting attacked lately and many people have been dying at night. They still haven't figured out, or come to the conclusion that we exist, but the longer this happens the more people will think, and the more they think they will soon come to the conclusion that we exist and an all out war will be the only solution.

And it's obvious as to which side will win.

But that's what my father and his team are trying to avoid. We need to stay under the wraps and co-exist with humans. My father taught me to drink from animal blood rather than human blood to resist the urge of injuring a human. He trained me to fight very well and trained me to be an independent person because soon after his reign is over, I will be taking his place as "Jason, the Vampire King" And it's my duty to fulfill his promise of coexisting with humans.

But we can't do that when there are people risking our exposure.

"May I call Hunter into the room?" I pointed towards the door.

He nodded his head. "Quickly."

I ran to Hunter's dorm in a hurry and woke him up from his slumber.

"Father needs us, Hunter." I informed.

He yawned and immediately got up from his bed.

"Again? This man can't just do shit on his own can he?" He stretched.

Together, we both went back into father's room and stood upon him and a group of his cabinet.

"Have we found any leads yet?" He asked Ms. Durant, the leader of the Vampire Police.

"No Mr. Stone, we haven't." She held her head down in disgrace and avoided eye contact with him.

"Don't stress yourself Naomi. I understand it's hard. But please keep looking."

He then turned his head towards Hunter and I.

"Are you boys ready to head out?" He questioned.

I nodded my head while hunter said, "Listen old man, I'm getting tired of going out every night and fighting out of control vampires-"

"Ferals." I corrected.

He rolled his eyes and continued his little speech. "Am I going to be compensated for this because honestly, this is getting ridiculous."

I opened my eyes in shock at the manner of his tone towards my father.

At this point I felt scared for him. I know those who dare disrespect the king will ultimately be staked and face a dishonorable death and will forever be remembered by that.

No one had dared disrespect him in the 300 years I've been living.

"Hunter." My father said.

The room began feeling tense as everyone feared what would come from his mouth next.

"Being that you are the great-grandson of the first Vampire and our first queen Charlotte I will compensate you with a 1 month supply of human blood from Greece." A smile began appearing on his face.

"Whatever." He shrugged as if it was no big deal.

"Alright boys, head down. I will have team Levi meeting you there in 5. Remember to keep your identity a secret. And if there's any humans out there, keep them safe. But if anyone figures out your identity and the origin of the ferals, exterminate them."

"Okay." We all said at the same time.

Then we were out.

"You know, when I find out who's been turning people without Kings permission id kick their fucking ass for making me sacrifice my nights to fighting." Hunter said.

"Exactly, I was literally watching a fucking human documentary about us." I chuckled.

"You know J I was wondering why do you always speak so properly around your dad? Like loosen up a bit, he's your father."

I noticed that habit was a continuous habit of mine a long time ago once modern language began to grow around America. When I'm away from my dad or in the premises of him, I will always speak like we are still in the 17th century.

It's a weird habit of mine that I can't seem to grow out of. Plus, I think he'd prefer me speak to him like that anyways since he is extremely old school-

A woman's scream immediately cut me out of my thoughts.

Hunter and I stopped on top of a large building and noticed 4 ferals surrounding a girl in an alleyway.

"How are we gonna get the girl away from them without her discovering our identity?" Hunter questioned.

Ignoring him, I began strategizing a way to get the ferals without attracting more.

Once they began closing up on her I jumped down from the roof and grabbed her.

"Who the fuck are you! How the hell did you-". Me jumping back up towards the roof caused her sentence to be cut short as she screamed In possible shock, and fear.

"Jason what the fuck man." Hunter was clearly frustrated by that.

"Remember what your dad said!" He lifted up his eyebrows and peaked at the girl who sat in shock.

"Look, lets just stake the ferals then we can figure this out. We have to hurry before squad Levi gets here and kills the girl themselves."

"Kill the girl! What do you mean kill the girl!" She exclaimed. "Now someone better tell me what the fuck is going on here and how the hell you just jumped on this roof without any strings attached."

"Listen bitch, if you want to live, it would be better for you not to scream." Hunter warned.

"Did you just-" her eyes widened in shock at the cuss word he just called her. "Listen you fucker I will push you off this roof right now don't play with m-"

Hunter cut her off by showing his fangs and glowing red eyes. This immediately caused her to back off and run to the other side of the roof.

"Relax Hunter. Relax." I attempted to calm him down before he did anything he'd regret.

"V-v." She stuttered.

Instead of saying anything else to her Hunter and I jumped off the room and began staking each feral that was there.

"Fucking bastard." Hunter cussed as he staked them.

"You know, I find it weird that they don't fight back. This is too easy and it gets boring after a while." I said aloud.

"If they were to fight back, I'm pretty sure the world would've ended by now. Be glad that they don't."

Once we staked the last feral we looked around to see if there was any more in close proximity to us.

"No more." Hunter muttered.

I looked up at the roof to see the girl staring at us. Many different emotions flashing in her eyes. I couldn't really make out what she was feeling.

I stared at her a little longer until we caught each other's eyes.

I quickly looked away and looked at Hunter.

"Hey Hunter."

"What." He began kicking at the ash on the ground.

"Go look for more ferals that could be nearby, I will handle the girl."

"So you're telling me you're going to kill her?" He squinted his eyes, uncertain of my intent.

No.

"Yes."

"Jason." He sighed. "I know you're not the type of person to kill someone. Specifically a human. Your dad taught you hospitality, so what makes me think you're telling the truth." He folded his arms across his chest.

"Trust me, now go. Hurry." I placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder.

I could tell he was hesitant to go and that he didn't really trust my words but luckily he did.

I looked around and smelt around to see if the Levi squad was anywhere near.

"Good they aren't coming." I mumbled.

I jumped back on the roof to see the girl pulling at the rooftop door trying to get it open.

"Open you stupid door, fucking open!"

She kicked it angrily and groaned out in pain when she hurt her foot.

I chuckled.

She quickly turned around and her eyes widened in shock at my presence.

"You- you're a vampire . S- dont - please."

This is probably my 10th time attempting to write a wattpad story. Each of the "new books" I've written all failed and I gave up. If this book manages to get some reads in, I really hope you enjoy it.

Keep up with me on social media !
