The entire car ride was silent. My heart falling apart due to the unexpected news I desperately wished it was a lie. There's no way Leo Castillo is dead. It just can't be true. I'm now in a room, which is elegantly designed with fresh bedsheets changed just for me. Santana left to go pick up some food for us to dine to. Since he left, all I have done is cry. Emptiness is all I feel since hearing the news. No wonder Leo never came back to Luna's apartment. As I sob, a frightening image presents itself inside my mind picturing Leo lifeless body on the ground of his own home. A pool of blood surrounding him. I shake my head brushing this image away not wanting to think that way.

"I need to see him," I murmur to myself having a sudden strong urge to go find him. I stand up from the bed wiping my wet stained cheeks with the back of my long sleeve shirt. I walk over to the door placing my hand on the doorknob ready to burst through, but the doorknob doesn't turn. I start to panic twisting the doorknob harshly realizing it's locked. Santana locked me in this room.

"Asshole," I grumble. I turn around scanning the room noticing a window. Running to the window, I push away the white curtains to the side noticing it has no bars locking me in like Leo had back at the mansion. I unlock the little locks it has on the side sliding the window open. Shoving my head outside, I notice the room I'm currently in is facing a forest I didn't notice earlier when I first arrived here.

Hearing footsteps on the other side of the door. I immediately, but carefully slide my leg over the window stepping on the ground. As soon as this step is done. I go ahead in repeat the process with my other leg officially getting myself out of the small house. I pull the window down hoping this will buy me some time to get away when they find out I have escaped. Once the window is fully closed, I turn around sprinting towards the forest not wasting anytime.

The last thing I need is someone catching me before I can even get anywhere. It's dark, cold, and windy causing goosebumps to pop out from my body. Unfortunately, the long sleeve isn't enough to keep me warm in this weather. And to make things worse, I have no idea where I am. All I can hope to do is bump into a house or a street soon, but for now all I see is trees lots of trees.

After what seems like forever. I finally spot a street full of passing cars. My feet hurt and my knees are threateningly ready to drop at anytime due to my heavy weight. I manage to keep walking with the little strength I still have left until I hit the street. I put my thump up hoping someone is kind enough to stop and give me a lift to where I need to go. A few cars pass by ignoring me until one finally comes to a halt signaling me to come in. I walk towards the car leaning down near the opened window.

"Do you need a ride to the hospital ma'am?," the elderly man worriedly says glancing at my belly.

"Yes please," I hastily say opening the door rushing inside. "Step on it," I add once seated. Wasting no more time the elderly man steps on the gas pedal driving us straight.

"Did you happen to hear about a shooting occurring today?," I ask hoping going to the hospital is the right place to go to. I'm sure by now everyone knows about what happened and perhaps Leo has been picked up. I cringe at the realization of Leo being dead.

"Oh yes, I've seen on the news that two well known mafia gangs were at war earlier today. I think on street Ger- wait no I think it's Gum- no that's not right either I think it's-"

"Goldeneye," I breathe looking straight at the road still in shock that all of this is even real. I wish this was all false. All just a nightmare, so I can wake up from it and see Leo laying right next to me smiling down at me whilst his thump makes circular motions on my cheek as I gaze at him admiring everything just like I did every morning. However, no matter how much I pinch myself I keep seeing the elderly man next to me and us heading straight down the dark road only confirming what I desperately wish for is only a wish not my reality.

"Yes that's right," the man says.

"Have they identified the dead yet?"

"Nope. I don't think they will too since the officials here are terrified of the mafia leaders whomever they are."

I huff, hoping the hospital has the answer I desperately need to know. The answer that can either change my life for the worst or give me hope. The answer that will change me forever if it's confirmed. Whatever it may be, all I know is that I need to see Leo Castillo one last time.

Even if it pains me to say goodbye to the love of my life.

Sorry for the short chapter guys. Responsibilities at college has been such a rollercoaster and has been interfering with my writing time this week. 😪

It was either no update this week or update at least something for my lovely readers 🤷🏻‍♀️

Any who, next chapter will be back to my normal updates of 'long chapters'.
I promise 😉

Hint: You definitely do not want to miss the next chapter TRUST ME! 🤭

Any guesses?
